Thank you Will, your videos are very informative and very helpful really appreciate you taking the time it gives great information we love Montana and especially Kalispell area. We’re trying to get there keep up the good work.
As a local that got priced out and had to move away due to the people moving in and driving housing through the roof, could we chill on promoting the place?
@Ashton Berta, we all get it once this happens to OUR home state. Now we know how beautiful Colorado, Oregon and now Texas natives felt when this started happening to them - and still is!
Sorry to hear that. It sad to hear. They will destroy a wonderful state. We need to find a way to stop people from being able to move into beautiful states and destroying them with their politics and crime and then that brings the poverty. Sorry to say poverty but that comes with population and it really sucks crime starts to skyrocket. The people have no respect for the nature or the culture up there it really really sucks.
The problem is, the locals don't like the increased population of people moving in. We don't need to build on every piece of land just because it's there
I know I hate that. I thought maybe we could get protected areas near towns or in them. Just for the natural beauty and animals. Seems everyone is super eager to make alot of money throwing down pavement and poorly built housing.
We need a long hard winter to drive out the outsiders that think it’s a great idea to move here. Big problem is that rich people move out here simply to buy land to build “affordable housing”.
Kalispell and the Flathead Valley is paradise until winter; the sun is rarely seen from November to March. If grey/dark winters are an issue for you, caveat emptor before relocating. It cloudier than Seattle.
That’s what happened here in Nevada. Everybody started moving in because it was beautiful and it was not a lot of people know it’s got 2.2 million people in Nevada and Las Vegas alone it’s terrible here people are rude there’s crime everywhere it sucks. I pray that doesn’t happen in Montana because I love that state
Kalispell has already started to change for the worse. Many Californians moving in and trying to make it like the place they moved from. The small town feel is all but gone, the air of entitlement is growing quickly, and trying to buy a home/property is rapidly getting out of reach for the average family. The whole area used to be an amazing place to be, I have personally seen the change, and it’s not good.
So sad to see MT going this way. I loved living in Missoula for 6 years in the 70’s. Even back then bumper stickers on cars had “Don’t Californicate Montana”.

As a Floridian, I love your very informative and honest reviews of Montana living. At almost 69 years old and moving to Central Florida to a 5 acre rural setting lot.. From this and your other videos Montana is a beautiful state that I'd love to visit. But, have to keep these old bones warm now. Thanks for the information and the tour. We are coming up and staying in Kalispell this Saturday and staying for a week. We are from southern Oklahoma. We are excited.
Very nice review of the fastest growing city in Montana. It's nice to see thoughtful development. Thank goodness for the 93 bypass. We stopped in to that Chik-fil-a and it was packed. The employees were very courteous and communicated well.
There is no winning: I wanted to live in the Flathead Valley, maybe Marion or Bigfork. Well the prices and current population and traffic have turned me away. One of the main selling points was peace and quite with proximity to amenities. Nice friendly small town. But that's inherently the problem: any place worth being will grow...
We moved here 20 years ago, and it’s breaking our hearts to see what is happening now. Trash all over the hwy’s, nasty people who don’t think this area is as sophisticated as LA. Well duh!!!! Go home transplants who come here with bad attitudes and behavior. The crime rate has jumped through the roof. Damn, so sad. City folks need to stay in the city.
Really enjoy your content and thx for the mls add. Spent a couple weeks touring from darby to whitefish to glacier down the swan valley back to missoula. Lots of great places. Narrowing down is going to be hard! Kalispell sure checks a lot of boxes with the shopping amenities and healthcare.
I was visiting my folks in St. Ignatius the week of Father's Day. 1,500 mile drive from Texas and worth every mile. The Mission Mountains are incredible. You can see every star at night it seems like! The Milky Way and Galactic Core included. There's Stutzman's Country Market with a horse hitch for Amish buggies. Worth a place to check out if you are looking for video ideas! Anyway. Western Montana is beautiful. (I guess you knew that) When they first moved there last year I watched a bunch of your videos, and others. As a result I knew my way around pretty well once I got there. Thanx for sharing!
Yes, the star gazing is pretty good here. If you take a look at a light pollution map, you can see that there is some light pollution. I live in town and at night I can make out all the constellations. With a telescope you can see many more stars, but you can still not make out things like the Andromeda Galaxy and things you can make out by the naked eye in the desert or someplace like that, even with a telescope, so there are some limitations in town and even just outside of it. I do work in the retail area at night, and you can clearly make out planets even with all the parking lot lights. Cheers.
Kalispell used to be a cool place to be, now there's too many people that do not understand why locals like the the Montana was,not what it's changed too.its no longer a cheap place to live, it's now a tourist resort like redlodge and whitefish and is so expensive.
