Legen Nizz For the 600th time in this comment section. I don't like him because Gungeon is a single player game and he's a co-op character. Simple enough.
@@PentaHybrid ok so you are saying that a game with co-op Is a single player game so its basically both single player/co-op game btw I put caps to make a point not to feel important
I love the Bullet simply because he has a melee weapon and I think it's funny that he swings it around in a place that is literally called the gungeon. Also I like to imagine the moment he picks up a gun he gets really deep in existential thought.
he picks up both the bullet, bullet that can kill past, and the shell bullet and shell grow eyes and mouths but not legs and arms "brother why"- bullet n shell "idk bro"- the bullet
I personally think pilot has the highest upside of them all. If you can get through floor 1-2 and scrape through with his weapon, he’ll be in a really good place for the mid and end game, even the extended endgame.
Yeah, I mean 10 % off for s rank gun on floor 5 where you have roughly any money or bullets for the dragun and imagine a run where you have both singularity and elder blank without the need to look for passive that extend active slots. And even more bullet capacity for OP guns so you don’t have to find ammo for them . I’ll choose him anyway Oh and maybe if you manage to get your hand on “master of unlocking”, the lock pick will have 80% to be successful
Yes, but blasphemy exists. Blasphemy is good through bullet hell, even if it just has a few niche uses during it. It makes the dragun easier, is easily the best for floor one, is good past that.
I like the cultist, the revive can be crucial, and giving him to the more experienced player gives them a huge advantage when player one dies, doubling all of his stats. While his starting gun isn’t great, it’s not important, because you have a partner, and partners are great
Mine too. You're done if there aren't good chests in the first chamber which is rare (in which case I restart the game), but the pilot has the best chance of finding new weapons and passive items which can make a huge difference in the run. He can afford to risk losing brown chests with the lockpick and saving the keys (which he can buy cheaper) for the good chests. His sidearm is bad but enough to beat the first chamber.
I enjoy the Pilot because I like having ALL the items. Meaning the lockpick to get more items, the disarming personality to let me buy more items, and the extra active item slot to let me carry 2 actives make him oh-so amazing for me.
I honestly find the Marine to be the most fun of the original 4 simply because of the sidearm being really good (like you said). While the Hunter is fun and also the most powerful, it just seems a bit imbalanced which I'm not sure I like. Great list!
Huntress isn't as great as everyone makes her out to be IMO. She's not that fun either. I think she's pretty balanced, but she's also not as unique as the other gungeoneers.
Olexa same I also love the marine he has (I think) 8 bullets on his SIDEARM GUN and he reloads and shoots faster than the other characters he starts with the military book or whatever it's called:/
Me: mains Marine only, dies on floor 1 boss Also me: switches to pilot, lock picks chest, gets serious cannon and blasts trough floor 4 racking up insane unlocks
If you are new to the game --> Marine If you have experience but not good at it yet --> Hunter If neither or neither yet of these, but you have strong reflexes --> Convict If you is bored as f word dawg --> Pilot
My favorite so far (don't have bullet or robot yet) is the pilot. And here's my reasoning: +Extra item slot is really useful, because you can carry the gunpowder and an item at the same time, or two items if you aren't trying to make the bullet. This also stacks with other storage capacity so you can hold three items after picking up only one. +The shop discounts, while certainly not the most useful, are still nice because all the money you save can buy another weapon or item by the end floors. +Silly walk cycle! -Lockpicks, while nice, are very up to luck. +If you clear a whole floor before using the lockpick, you can check to make sure there are no keys left, therefore giving you a 50% chance to get an item and a 50% chance that you can just break it and hopefully get something small. -Starter gun is garbage +You can get used to the starter gun after playing him for a while, although going back to other characters can be jarring, and vice versa. -Isn't a brown coat. +Looks cool. +Extra ammo is always nice. Just like the shop discount, it's not a hugely notacible change, so it gets overlooked and underappreciated. Overall, I think that the pilot is hated because his downsides are so obvious while his upsides are more miniscule and not as prominent. But after playing him for a while, the subtle differences are enough to make a better difference in a run. Edit: HOLY SHIT PILOT HAS A BROWN COAT AS AN ALT SKIN HE IS NOW THE BEST CHARACTER
I play co-op solo for a reason, and it's that adorable (and powerful) player 2 character, The Cultist. I'll go over all the benefits. Co-op mode makes all enemies have 40% more health to balance out the game. When your partner dies, all chests on the floor turn into "Revive Chests" that will revive your partner with full health. When your partner gets revived, be it opening a Revive Chest, beating the floor's boss or using the Friendship Cookie (The Cultist's starting active item) all of the chests return to their original rarity. Synergies are also shared between players. First, The Cultist's starting weapon is the middle ground in staring sidearms, not the best, not the worst but with the added damage up (mentioned later) it becomes the best of the starting weapons. Second, The Cultist's starting passive item, Number 2, gives them a 41% damage boost and a 2x speed boost. The 41% damage boost negates co-op mode's enemy buffs and basically gives The Cultist +1% damage. The speed up makes dodging and just getting around much easier. Third, in co-op mode, Lich's Eye Bullets (The Gunslinger's starting passive) works for both players, making The Cultist a powerhouse when paired up with the Gunslinger. Especially if you don't have friends and play co-op solo. Fourth and finally, The Cultist's past is the greatest thing in the entire game. It's a 1v1 duel against player 1. Also, need I add that The Cultist is adorable as hell?
mine 1.bullet- blasphemy is a thing 2.hunter- doggo and good room clearing crossbow for floor two anx three. 3.pilot- stuff thats useful after floor 2 lol 4.marine- ammo drop can be sometimes good if you dont get an active quickly. 5. robot- imo just as good as pilot, im just bad at him. 6.convict- rewards bad play and the shot gun is crap even for floor one bosses. molotov is good though.
My list: 1. Bullet: Ability to destroy bullets and high damage right off the bat is just so good. Also armor of thorns is ridiculous as this guy. 2. Huntress: Starting weapon is pretty good, but they really shine through the crossbow cause of it's high dmg. Also pupper. 3. Robot: Armor HP is obviously a burden but the long range and large clip combined with battery bullets+water coolant is really powerful. And +5% DMG up for junk is beautiful. 4. Marine: Kind of a lesser robot, has a large clip and long range starting weapon. Extra hit is kinda nice. I always seem to find a better use item before I really need the ammo refill though, which leads to it never being used properly. 5. Convict: I don't actually mind this character, her revolver can be fired faster by rapidly clicking, which vomits out the entire clip. It also does slightly more damage than other starting weapons. The sawn-off is garbo though. 6. Pilot: I struggle to get far as this guy because of the terrible starting gun. He's also pretty RNG based, which I strongly dislike. And I've never played as the cultist because I don't own a controller, but I will say that it has the best alternate skin out there.
Pilot is objectively the best character come mid/end-game. Between the lockpick giving you extra items, 10% more ammo on your guns, a second active item slot built in, and the shop discount (that really is mostly put towards buying more keys to get more chests), he ends up with far better gear overall in the end. Only other character I consider anymore is Convict, and that's if I'm just wanting to blitz through levels and not concern myself with actually exploring chambers.
Praetor Kamahl exactly, i dont get how you can say his downside is rng, in a game that is so rng you dont even know what each floors boss is, his starting gun is sucky but thats it for him, cheaper shop prices, two actives, and the option of a 50/50 chance of a free item at any point in the game regardless of keys
@@tristanhendon7372 Thats because he made his list dependent on how strong their starter weapons are. The robot is really good, but lwts be honest. If you lose armor health you S.O.L because you could go through a whole game not even getting anymore armor. And his active item is decent, bosses or enemies can just walk out its radius and it doesnt do tick damage.
1. Bullet: Cleaving paths through a bullet hell game almost feels like cheating. Add to that the ability to bump bellies with enemies without taking damage makes the bullet too good to pass up. 2. Pilot: I can't believe this guy gets so much crap because of his starter pistol. His double items, ammo capacity, and his ability to make the shopkeepers weak in the knees, makes him a bona fide champ. Also that lock pick is awesome, if I end up not finding a key for a chest or just don't want to waste your limited keys on a brown chest might as well give it a shot. If it doesn't work you can still break the chest open. 3. Marine: The accuracy/reload bonus is great. I almost always end up wasting the ammo supply early in the run when I find a decent item to replace it. 4. Convict: This was the first character I finished the fifth chamber with. The double damage perk really got me out of some tight spots when I was learning the ropes. 5. Huntress: Cute duo, but as a bonus that dog is pretty lackluster. Too often there is a run where I get nothing out of this little guy. The crossbow is ok, but not a selling point for me. 6. Robot: I killed it's past, but don't see much reason to play as this character again. If I need to make the game more difficult I'd rather just do daisuke's challenge with another character.
Robot is very situational. It's not about his weapon or items. It's about doing Junkan runs. If you do a Junkan Only run (break every single chest), you get increased damage AND the ability to acquire Junkan. The best run is when you have 10 junk with Junkan or Gold Junk and some decent weapons. It's perfect for lazy folks like me who don't want to bother keeping track of synergies or juggling multiple weapons/items.
My list 1. Bullet 2. Convict 3. Cultist 4. Robot 5. Marine 6. Hunter 7. Pilot I main bullet mainly because it's sword is great through out the whole run
You can play cultist without a 2nd physical player... Hook a controller... kill main character, clear maps... Beat boss first, teleport to chest rooms. Profit
Honestly, cultist is an unsung hero in singleplayer. His passive is amazing, Pilot gives you a free shop discount and hunter is just free items and they both dont have any downsides.
Paradox is op as fuck, but gunslinger.... ho daddy. I mean he easily has the hardest unlock in the game so it kinda makes sense that he is a cheat character but just... no.
Oh this is old EtG in the new update there is Paradox and Gunslinger i think the gun slinger is the best bcs it has lich's eye bullets but paradox is made randomly random passive random active random first and second weapons you should do another part with those characters
After further consideration I have come to the conclusion that even though in my previous comment I stated paradox was number 4 I realized paradox is automatically granted 1st as he/she can spawn with casey
I'm probably one of the few people on this planet who unironically likes the Convict more than the rest of the cast, even though I'm fully aware that shes inferior to the rest of the cast in terms of her starting kit.
Wait what, Convict has literally the best starting kit! Her base gun almost qualifies as a primary in how much damage it puts out, let alone swapping between weapons while the other reloads to basically nuke down bosses. Even has a molotov to top off the damage charts. I don't like using her but she blows away everyone else starting-gear-wise.
Well while the base gun is strong and is one of the constant upsides to her with it's good damage output despite the low accuracy and clip size, the sawn-off loses it's usefulness around the third chamber as you shouldn't be using it against bosses after the first chamber, but can still be useful in blasting away more troublesome enemies. As for her items the molotov does have it's uses, but I usually either forget it exists or find a better active item as I personally don't use it much aside from the first boss and maybe the second (Though its useless against the Bullet King and Gorgun) and as for the enraging photograph it always helps to have more damage, especially when things are getting dicey enough for you to take a hit, but by no circumstance should you EVER intentionally get hit to activate it's effect with how scarce health is. All the same shes the first character I beat the game with and at the end of the day the starting kits really don't change an awful lot past the start of each run, and I take pride in the fact that I do well with her despite her being deemed the hardest to play, next to the pilot according to this vid that is
the main reason the convict is my favorite is because when you get hit you'r pissed, and convict is also pissed, and there's nothing more satisfying than doing a trillion damage while screaming insults at the boss, she's a beserker and if i just want to run in guns blazing everywhere and enrage when someone gets a little too agressive, i call that a fun character, unreliable? yeah sure, but she's undeniably fun
i like the convict too the starting revolver fires really fast when you mash the trigger and if your in a small corridor with enemies right next to you thats when the sawed off shines i also forget about the molotov alot
I've actually grown to kinda love the convict just cause that weapon set and the molotov make floor 1 so fast. If you can swap weapons and use the auto reload of inactive weapons effectively, this character becomes a DPS monster by comparison before you find some better stuff.
My list 1. Bullets cuz its sht 2. pilot its the best 3. Cultist is the best bessttt 4. Marine ehh 5. Hunter ty for wasting ammo at chamber 1 6. convict cuz its really really sht 7. robot cuz i freaking cant get armor THEY JUST GIVE ME HEARTS
Pilot is my favorite. It's the mix of things that help. The extra active item, did you even mention it? That's big and if you get the right actives can guarantee you flawless bosses. And the lockpicks can help you have a chance at chests you might not have had keys for.
WHAT IS THIS no it can only get a real starter weapon and can get a random seconday or passive the real reason paradox is 1 as any character that can spawn with casey is auto number 1
Oddly enough, I really enjoy playing the convict. I think that I enjoy her starter gun the most due to its high rate of fire and it's faster reload time so you can vomit out bullets right at the start. Though the Sawed off is definitely not as good as the crossbow, I still think it's better than nothing. plus, once you learn how to fight up-close it can do some great damage. The Molotov is probably my favorite part about her kit, due to how well it can deal with the stronger enemies and bosses. Lastly, her passive does reward bad play, but (kinda like cigarettes) I feel like sometimes giving up health for a quick boost in damage to melt a boss or group of enemies is fair (though I think we'd all prefer to just not get hit by the boss and get the extra heart). I think overall using the convict just requires a more aggressive and fast paced play style. And I think I'm alright at the game... I can usually get through floor 1-3's bosses without being hit and overall loosing little health on the way. But I will definitely agree that the Hunter is much better.
Pilot is good for new players, i think bullet or gunslinger are overpowered. Gunslinger have synergys with ALL WEAPONS, and bullet... **SWORD** **NYOOOM** **FUUM** **KRRRCHAW** (sword noises)
I really like the pilot because with secret compartment he can become strong if you push through early game and the trusty lock pick can save you in a pinch even though it is heavily luck based
The cultist actually has a pretty decent starting weapon, and his wonderfully named passive (called Number 2) gives him extra movement speed, and +41% damage when player 1 dies, which essentially negates the entire downside to co-op (enemies have 40% more HP but you'll be sharing items so that's also a downside), plus a very handy movement speed up that sweetens the deal. The better player should always pick the cultist, as it's basically used to take advantage of your friend who sucks at the game. I would actually really love to be able to play as the cultist in normal gameplay, but sadly I don't see that ever becoming possible.
just connect an extra controller and then repeatedly kill that character by going into rooms and body blocking all damage while drawing agro of mobs, either that or by using pits
At the time I made it the Hunter was clearly the better option for to the crossbow and dog. But it literally is just opinion. These are my personal rankings. You're supposed to disagree.
CH34T- C0D3 Convict is underrated. The sawed off is a very good starting weapon. The only thing I don't like is the rage. I'm games like Isaac and Nuclear Throne there are reasons to get hit. Gungeon is your goal to avoid all damage. The only thing I think works well with it is the Cigarettes because it's very powerful.
you forgot to talk about how every time The convict takes damage she becomes enraged thanks to the photo. this increases her damage significantly and also reloads her gun shes holding. If theres a table nearby you can flip it, come out of cover, take the bullet to the face but not actually take damage, and trigger this for free.
That's really interesting that you put the Robot so low. Any more elaboration on that? I'd love to hear. I am starting to agree with you on the Hunter though. That dog is starting to piss me off.
I truly dont hate the Robot, the idea of armor for health is brilliant. Its just i feel like the devs should have made it a higher chance to get armor when your playing as him. Hes truly an amazing gungeoneer! its just im not used to his play style.
PentaHybrid I've been getting tired of playing the robot, slowly get knocked down to 2 armor, then have the game go "Oh deary me, you're low on health. Here, have all of these red hearts." "Oh, you broke a blue chest with 2 health, here have a half heart and not junk."
there is something far worse its bad enough to get a heart container from an a or s rank chest... i got a heart container from an s rank chest....... as the robot.... could have been a good s rank item but nah have almost nothing
I don't see how pilot is luck-based at all. He is by far the most consistent character. I get to bullet hell with him every time I play. You should honestly not worry about his bad sidearm. If you are getting hit at all during the first two chambers, even with that terrible weapon, then that's on you. The first two chambers are too easy to perfect even with the worst of the worst of weaponry. Where the pilot comes in clutch is in shop prices. Shops can be very consistent, you will always get a key on the first shop unless you picked one up by accident before reaching him. The consistently cheap keys you will be buying on every floor will save a ton of money and make sure you open all 10 guaranteed chests throughout the first 5 floors. The lockpick is there to get you into the oubliette for free or half-off, thus getting you even more money if you hit it. The other selling point for the pilot is in two active items. My very second time reaching the Lich was on a run where I had ethereal form and elder blanks. I flawlessed the first two forms of the Lich and took one hit on the third form (which could have easily been avoided had I known there would be a third form). That was my *second* time seeing this boss. Two active items that either make you survive (lead skin, ethereal form) or increase DPS (double vision, gun friendship) is just beyond broken. It's almost an I-win button. And you will very often see an NPC selling stuff like that every run. The cheaper shops alone makes the pilot the best character, and the extra active item alone makes him the best character. Combining those two makes him far and away the best. All of the advantages from the other characters typically only help with the early game. And as I said before, if you need any assistance with the first 3 chambers at all then you simply need to up your skill. It's very easy to consistently flawless the first two chambers with nothing but the rogue special. Also, the marine does not have the best sidearm. The Convict has far and away the best DPS out of main characters on the rusty sidearm. The DPS of the marine's pistol is only marginally better than the pilot's. For the record, I consider the Convict the second best character under the pilot almost purely based on that insanely strong pistol, as well as enraging photo if you don't care about perfecting bosses.
Here is my list 7. Convict she has horrible range and is overall trash 6. Hunter don’t get me wrong I actually love hunter but she’s not better than 5. Pilot. He’s ok and I’ve played him enough to say that I am the first person to have my thoughts in between about this character 4. Marine a pretty good character with nice abilities, but doesn’t appeal to new players as much as 3. Cultist whenever I play two players in this game the other person always wants to be cultist and I can see why. He’s fun and cute and has cool abilities 2. Robot I love him because he’s very cute. I don’t like his health system very much but his abilities make up for it. His starting weapon has a ton of ammo before reloading and, ELECTRIC BULLETS 1. Speaking of bullets number one is bullet because he’s amazing, fun to play, his starting weapon is good and most importantly HES INSPIRED BY LEGEND OF ZELDA Edit: I recently unlocked paradox and gunslinger and I’m going to rank them too I’m moving the number two spot to 2 paradox. Paradox is. A fun character to play as and whenever you start a new run you never know what you’re going to start with. They’re just a fun character overall. And I’m moving number 3 to Gunslinger. Gunslinger isn’t as fun as paradox but seeing synergies that you never have seen before are always fun. Also he throws his starting gun which is amazing
I play multiplayer often, and my friend always Forces me to be the Cultist, and when he dies he is like “you have the cookie so revive me!” And I’m like “But it gives me a Damage up”
Cultist is NUMBER ONE. her gun have very good damage, accuracy is good + if you kill player one you will have boost. If you kill player one some times on one run game will have awesome bugs and game will be so easy.
ok now that i look at my reply it looks completely dumb xd i think i meant something like play more to get him since you dont really need skill to get him just luck but i dont really remember
Alright, I'll bite. My own list: 1. Marine. That item he carries means 20% less reload time on everything, and 16.7% less charge time for charge-based weapons. That all adds up to less time spent NOT shooting things, making every gun able to destroy things that much faster. Plenty of guns are a bit nasty about the reload or charge necessary, so I love this. The Supply Drop is a nice bonus. 2. Pilot. He makes it easier to get more stuff. The game is a real snotball when it comes to keys, it really is. For any other character, no keys means no item. But for Pilot, he still has a pretty decent chance of getting whatever is inside. And he gets items cheaper. There's lots of good stuff in the shops, and nothing is more irritating than finding something awesome but being like, 5 shells short of being able to purchase it. The Pilot makes that aggravating situation happen less. Yeah, he's got a craptastic starting weapon, but I'm only going to use that in the earliest part of the game, so I dont care about that much. And hey, two active items! 3. Hunter. Starting with the crossbow is nice, it's actually a pretty good weapon, useful well into the mid-game and it's ammo tends to last for quite awhile. And then there's the dog, of course. Free keys and blanks and hearts? Yes, more of that. And it's so damn cute. 4. The Bullet: Blasphemy is such a fun weapon. And being able to just chop bullets out of the air is quite useful. Even without the beam effect, this is still a good weapon in many situations. Live Ammo is nice too though I usually forget he has it. 5. Robot: I dont use him all that much, but he's easily the most unique. Battery Bullets is pretty great too, as is getting power from junk. 6. Convict. Ehh. I've never liked her much. A passive that only does anything if you crash into something, and that crappy shotgun, not very impressive. The Molotov is nice, but it's not enough.
What you gotta keep in mind is that character's side weapons can be either automatic or semi-automatic, which makes a huge difference. Automatic weapons have one set fire rate, while semi-automatic guns shoot as quickly as you can press the button. It makes playing with convict a cakewalk, since her revolver also has a short reload speed. Marine and Pilot have a set fire rate, while Convict and Huntress have semi-automatic guns.
My List: 7: Pilot He is so bad at the start that its honestly unfun to play, but its bearable. His lock picks are so satisfying when they work. His starter gun is bad. Hidden compartments is. . . ok, at the least. 10% more ammo and another active are ok with me. also disarming personality is eh. 6: Marine starter_class.mp4. ok but really his starting gun is good and so is supply drop but other than that hes just eh. 5: Convict Molotov is a hell of a start (heh get it cuz it can burn ppl) and the sawed off is an ok start but enraging photo is just ehhhhhhhh. 4: Robot i. . . actually havent played this guy, gal, whatever they want to identify as. Armor to me is kinda just there to take a hit but it can come in handy. His gun seems ok and coolant seems good based on ppl ive watched. 3: Huntress Crossbow is an amazing start, and the doggo. I T S A D O R A B L E. Rusty sidearm is ok but can be used to kill enemies in a crossbow -> sidearm combo. 2: Bullet Blasphemy is not only a good start, but its also a fun one. The ability to destroy bullets is invaluable and it does good dmg. no contact damage is ok. Number 1 Cultist Hear me out HES ADORABLE LOOK AT THIS PRECIOUS CHOLD HES TOO CUTE in all seriousness, he probably has the most questionable past Hes the one player 2 that took a stand tired of the insults the hate but have i mentioned how cute he is but his starting items are so based around co-op death
This is definitely true. They are all good. The hardest part about writing these lists is it makes me look like I hate anything but the number one choice. Untrue. I like them all. I just don't play to Pilot's strengths
Only some things about this list: 1. The Huntress is, by far, a fan favourite BUT not a good character, her kit is small and the only good thing abut is the crossbow, the dog only have a 5% success chance which is pretty small to the point I had runs where he didn't dug ANYTHING.. I would go as far as to say she's the second worst, only losing for the Convict (which, sadly, is my favourite). 2. The Marine doesn't have the best sidearm, the Robot does, yet you said it wasn't special dispite having double the ammo capacity.. wut? 3. The Pilot's Disarming Personality might be bad at the beggining but at the end, as prices gets higher, is actually pretty damm usefull, also, he's very good to do elevator quests as you can try to neglect using keys on chests and just save those for the elevators, I frankly hate this character but I gotta admit, he isn't the worst, not by a long a shot. 4. My personal list is: Bullet > Robot > Marine > Pilot > Hunter > Convict
4:00 DUUUUUDE! That Shop has a really good selection! (For me personally) The Regular Shotgun is a very well round early to mid game weapon, and the payday mask SAVES RUNS (especially when in combo with the other payday items). Having a Guy with a taser, winchester, or blanks is very handy, and the winchester guy (I forgot his name) can clear entire rooms by himself! 4:52 AND HERE IS ANOTHER PAYDAY ITEM!
7. cultist i did not play him becouse non of my friends play this game but i am preety sure he sucks 6. pilot has the worst starting items in the game imo 5. convict if only her second gun was shotgun... 4. marine has good passive item but 1 armor is not going to help me a lot + supply drop is useless if i find good active item 3. robot really interesting charcter i like the synergy between his active and passive item it can deal some serius damage 2. hunter crosbow is really good especailly on first and second floor and the dog can be really usefull 1. bullet i like being OP and blasphemy is deffinition of OP
Rade Despotovic pilot has the worst floor one. However cheaper shop prices and the lock pick as well as being able to hold more ammo and more active items gives him the highest potential power at the endgame. So the pilot is for those who are willing to trade immediate power for potential power.
Nathan Broduer, you can win the game using every starting weapon except blasphemy, that makes some enemies impossible to kill if you have no full health.
Was this made before the update that included the paradox and slinger? the slinger's eye bullets make him by far the best gungeoneer - automatically activates all synergies with all guns carried by the player.
I love the Bullet because once you get him its so easy to breeze through the first and second floor with blasphemy if you're good at dodging at the perfect time and not losing his sword projectile. Also he practically one shots all of the enemies on the first and second floor if you hit enemies with the slice and the projectile at the same time, which yet again is great if you can dodge at the right time. It also makes getting the Robot much easier since he can destroy bullets and a lot of the time eliminates the need to dodge roll especially in boss fights, but mostly it helps you remember that you're carrying him.

no he is. you can do a whole run as only cultist and it can beat out bullet
I love the Bullet simply because he has a melee weapon and I think it's funny that he swings it around in a place that is literally called the gungeon. Also I like to imagine the moment he picks up a gun he gets really deep in existential thought.
"Why am I fighting my brethren....WITH my brethren!?"
David Serrano What if he picks up The Bullet? No, not THE BULLET but just the Bullet.
he picks up both the bullet, bullet that can kill past, and the shell
bullet and shell grow eyes and mouths but not legs and arms
"brother why"- bullet n shell
"idk bro"- the bullet
The sword is called Blasphemy for a reason. Then again Casey is in the game and op.
Its like bringing a knife to a gun fight
Don't you ever talk about my boy pilot like that again
I WILL! Lol
Oh man he's really testing the waters
Call me a psycho but I'd put cultist as number 3, 1 being bullet and 2 being huntress

I personally think pilot has the highest upside of them all. If you can get through floor 1-2 and scrape through with his weapon, he’ll be in a really good place for the mid and end game, even the extended endgame.
Nathan Brodeur pilot is the character for people who are willing to sacrifice immediate power for potential for insane power.
I’ll choose him anyway
Oh and maybe if you manage to get your hand on “master of unlocking”, the lock pick will have 80% to be successful
he's also good when you use a shortcut, although the floor 2 shortcut can give guns that are even worse than his main gun.
Yes, but blasphemy exists. Blasphemy is good through bullet hell, even if it just has a few niche uses during it. It makes the dragun easier, is easily the best for floor one, is good past that.

@@eliezerortizlevante1122 and gunslinger + cultist = Godly run
I like the cultist, the revive can be crucial, and giving him to the more experienced player gives them a huge advantage when player one dies, doubling all of his stats. While his starting gun isn’t great, it’s not important, because you have a partner, and partners are great
Bro are you crazy. Is one of the best in the game jk.
My main Gungeoneer is the Pilot, It's just something about his design as a character overall I suppose.
It's probably reminds you of Han Solo
Go cultist
It’s because he’s white, isnt it
I honestly find the Marine to be the most fun of the original 4 simply because of the sidearm being really good (like you said). While the Hunter is fun and also the most powerful, it just seems a bit imbalanced which I'm not sure I like. Great list!
To each his own.
I've had the most fun playing as the hunter. Killed her past first. Then the marine. Kinda stuck on the pilot though.
but with the convict you can button mash to make your pistol shoot faster you can't do that with the marine or pilot

You dont deserve marine.

Says every character is better than convict. Puts Convict higher up on the list than pilot
If you are new to the game --> Marine
If you have experience but not good at it yet --> Hunter
If neither or neither yet of these, but you have strong reflexes --> Convict
If you is bored as f word dawg --> Pilot
My favorite so far (don't have bullet or robot yet) is the pilot. And here's my reasoning:
+Extra item slot is really useful, because you can carry the gunpowder and an item at the same time, or two items if you aren't trying to make the bullet.
-Starter gun is garbage
+You can get used to the starter gun after playing him for a while, although going back to other characters can be jarring, and vice versa.

Huntress now #1 as you can pet pupper

My list:

Also you are one of the few comments that didn't get hearted lol
@@tristanhendon7372 Thats because he made his list dependent on how strong their starter weapons are. The robot is really good, but lwts be honest. If you lose armor health you S.O.L because you could go through a whole game not even getting anymore armor. And his active item is decent, bosses or enemies can just walk out its radius and it doesnt do tick damage.
Pilot got a BIG buff in the AG&D update, the fact that he can hold 2 active items is very good for synergies

Nope. Haven't made a newer version. Both excellent characters though
Wait until he finds about the gunslinger

All the same shes the first character I beat the game with and at the end of the day the starting kits really don't change an awful lot past the start of each run, and I take pride in the fact that I do well with her despite her being deemed the hardest to play, next to the pilot according to this vid that is
the main reason the convict is my favorite is because when you get hit you'r pissed, and convict is also pissed, and there's nothing more satisfying than doing a trillion damage while screaming insults at the boss, she's a beserker and if i just want to run in guns blazing everywhere and enrage when someone gets a little too agressive, i call that a fun character, unreliable? yeah sure, but she's undeniably fun
i like the convict too the starting revolver fires really fast when you mash the trigger and if your in a small
corridor with enemies right next to you thats when the sawed off shines i also forget about the molotov alot
convict master race
When he broke the water barrel on purpose... I felt that
6:11 "shoot it and get some damage" ...or an useless heart :D
I've actually grown to kinda love the convict just cause that weapon set and the molotov make floor 1 so fast. If you can swap weapons and use the auto reload of inactive weapons effectively, this character becomes a DPS monster by comparison before you find some better stuff.

3. Cultist is the best bessttt
4. Marine ehh
5. Hunter ty for wasting ammo at chamber 1
6. convict cuz its really really sht

Pilot is my favorite. It's the mix of things that help. The extra active item, did you even mention it? That's big and if you get the right actives can guarantee you flawless bosses. And the lockpicks can help you have a chance at chests you might not have had keys for.
shhhhh
*bullet is bae*
so i guess the gunslinger is the new number 1 because of lich's eye bullets and the paradox is just sorta unranked?
Jennifer Muhly paradox is #1 imo because it can get ANYTHING in the game as a starter

I really like the pilot because with secret compartment he can become strong if you push through early game and the trusty lock pick can save you in a pinch even though it is heavily luck based
Wait so what dose the cultist do? Just be bad at everything?
Delta 008 Cultist it's unavailable unless playing in co-op. He's the co-op character.
If you kill one player you can heal him. Cultist is op in one player (killing p1)
How can actually say that the Marine is not the best of the core 4? I get that its opinion based and all but how?

I don't agree with pilot or robot but that's just me
Whoa whoa whoa!! Don’t forget about the gunslinger! He gets all synergies with all guns and a sweet starter pistol to boot.

I always do the best with the pilot, so he’s definitely my favorite. Couldn’t really explain why but he’s always the one who gets the furthest for me
1. Marine
2. Hunter
3. Cultist
4. Convict
5. Pilot
Haven’t unlocked the Bullet or Robot because I suck at this game
then play the bullet
he is op
he makes the game easy
"Haven’t unlocked the Bullet or Robot because I suck at this game" "Then play bullet" HERE LET ME PULL HIM OUTTA TIMBUKTU
butwhataboutmyboycultist
ok
now that i look at my reply it looks completely dumb xd
i think i meant something like play more to get him
since you dont really need skill to get him just luck
but i dont really remember
Ero Alduin You first need to kill a characters' past before you can unlock the bullet. I did make it to Marine's past yesterday but I died.
wait im confused, was the gunslinger not available yet when this video came out?
Yep
awwww but I like the nerf gun
i got to agree with that, i got so many nerf guns
This is a great video! I've been thinking about buying it for a while and this video sold me on buying it, thanks man
Emilio Orozco It's toooooo good! Glad I could swing you to get it!
Cultist is the best
Laughs in using starting gun the entire run
Alright, I'll bite. My own list:
Long time no see Misery! Nice breakdown here.
wow not even putting the chold on the list. yeah hes co-op BUT HES ADORABLE
Marine and Pilot have a set fire rate, while Convict and Huntress have semi-automatic guns.
a long time i was thinking about play this game i really should play it
Sry for my bad english
Play it!
btw cultist is very good for finding secret rooms because his/her starting gun,the dart gun's darts, don't stick to secret room walls
My List:
7: Pilot
He is so bad at the start that its honestly unfun to play, but its bearable. His lock picks are so satisfying when they work. His starter gun is bad. Hidden compartments is. . . ok, at the least. 10% more ammo and another active are ok with me. also disarming personality is eh.
6: Marine
starter_class.mp4. ok but really his starting gun is good and so is supply drop but other than that hes just eh.
5: Convict
Molotov is a hell of a start (heh get it cuz it can burn ppl) and the sawed off is an ok start but enraging photo is just ehhhhhhhh.
4: Robot
i. . . actually havent played this guy, gal, whatever they want to identify as. Armor to me is kinda just there to take a hit but it can come in handy. His gun seems ok and coolant seems good based on ppl ive watched.
3: Huntress
Crossbow is an amazing start, and the doggo. I T S A D O R A B L E. Rusty sidearm is ok but can be used to kill enemies in a crossbow -> sidearm combo.
2: Bullet
Blasphemy is not only a good start, but its also a fun one. The ability to destroy bullets is invaluable and it does good dmg. no contact damage is ok.
Number 1
Cultist
Hear me out
HES ADORABLE
LOOK AT THIS PRECIOUS CHOLD
HES TOO CUTE
in all seriousness, he probably has the most questionable past
Hes the one player 2 that took a stand
tired of the insults
the hate
but have i mentioned how cute he is
but his starting items are so based around co-op death
also im pretty sure cultist either dead or a skeleton
blasphemy isnt a good start? lol
it can be if you know how to use it
Lach. You misread.
Brad Layne no my man he edited the comment
I feel like the main use for the pilot is doing key/casing runs to build the elevators, and making it easier to run Oubliette/Abbey.
This is definitely true. They are all good. The hardest part about writing these lists is it makes me look like I hate anything but the number one choice. Untrue. I like them all. I just don't play to Pilot's strengths
Only some things about this list:
7. cultist i did not play him becouse non of my friends play this game but i am preety sure he sucks
6. pilot has the worst starting items in the game imo
5. convict if only her second gun was shotgun...
4. marine has good passive item but 1 armor is not going to help me a lot + supply drop is useless if i find good active item
3. robot really interesting charcter i like the synergy between his active and passive item it can deal some serius damage
2. hunter crosbow is really good especailly on first and second floor and the dog can be really usefull
1. bullet i like being OP and blasphemy is deffinition of OP
Yeah, you can win the entire game just using blasphemy. It’s absurd
Nah casey is
Rade Despotovic pilot has the worst floor one. However cheaper shop prices and the lock pick as well as being able to hold more ammo and more active items gives him the highest potential power at the endgame. So the pilot is for those who are willing to trade immediate power for potential power.
^
Nathan Broduer, you can win the game using every starting weapon except blasphemy, that makes some enemies impossible to kill if you have no full health.
I can see the ranks being decidedly by each character’s original set up. But I think long term potential is also an important part.
