  • How to replace a broken rear window regulator clip on a 1998-2009 Ford Focus. There is no need to replace the whole track/motor/regulator assembly when the plastic clip is usually the culprit.

You're welcome! Did you end up getting it fixed? If not, you can remove that clip easier by pushing a pin out of the plastic bar that runs through the clip and window, if that makes any sense. I wasn't aware of that when I made this video, and youtube isn't set up to add to videos once they are posted.

The plastic clip has a spreader in the middle. Slide the window up till the round plug shows thru the hole. With a small screw driver push out the middle spreader. It is nylon. Pop out the plug and it's free. . . I can't get the dam old glass out. I need to swap glass from one damaged door to another. Shit won't come out. Grrrrrrr. Anyway. Don't pry the nylon part open just remove the plug. Push out the middle then remove the plug. Easy peasy.

I just had to watch my own video to figure out what you were saying lol. Now that I've seen it with what you said in mind, I can see the plug in the round piece that goes through the glass. I wish I'd known about that before haha, would've made things much easier. Makes sense though, they had to install it in the factory somehow...
Thanks for the tip! I never thought I'd be learning something because of my own educational video, but I'm perfectly ok with it! Now if I can just figure out how to edit a video that's already uploaded, I'd add that in there.

Get this. My focus wagon has a removable section of window rail guide. .about 7inchs long. . Two screws remove the rail then the glass pulls straight out. So simple when you know lol. Now I know. Now you know. 👍😉🤣

@@marcuscravens9421 Good to know! I don't have much experience working on these cars, but being that this one is my almost 16 year old daughter's, that's probably going to change very soon. 😆😆😆

At 3:03, you point to "this little foam piece here" and you pop the clips out, but that's unnecessary because the attachments that hold the foam piece in place are meant to slide out by turning the foam piece counter-clockwise. Don't touch the white plastic clips with a tool...just turn the foam piece. Much easier and you don't take a chance of breaking the clips. Also, the plastic piece at 5:23 attached to the window can be easily removed by pushing out the nylon center. No need to make this harder than it has to be, right? Otherwise, enjoyable video. I don't drink beer so that isn't really the most important job. ha!
