oh my goodness this turned out even better than i thought it would by looking at the thumbnail. probably one of my favourites now. i hope there are prom dresses similar to this, i would love to wear it.
But she gives a person wonderful ideas on what you could do with similar items. She makes her own patterns, but you can buy patterns and do the same thing with the clothing.
Holy crap, it's not only gorgeous but the finishes, especially on the inside, are incredible! It's better finished than most clothes sold in stores O.ô
I don't usually leave comments but I just gotta say this, you should DEFINITELY design a collection of your own! Seriously, your thrifted designs are so much better than what is sold out there
Tien Le yes!!! things like bridesmaid dresses etc only get worn once, but they're often made of such nice fabric, it would be really cool so see April transform one into a jumper!
Bridesmaid Dresses are very expensive, maybe someone who wants theirs transformed could send it to her, along with their body measurements. That way April doesn't have to buy a wedding dress
even though I'm a guy I just wanted to say all your tips and tricks for sewing have helped me in my journey, now I can tailor all my own clothing and started to pick up thrift items to make them nicer :)
Love that you are turning out of fashion clothes into stylish new fashion. Now that what I call saving the environment. By making sure that one less piece of synthetic fabric goes into a landfill.
How great that you go out and buy super inexpensive clothing and transform them into pieces people would pay 100s for. Just one suggestion, could you please put how much you purchased the original item for in your future videos? I think it would add to the wow factor.
I would buy the dress too !! it's so pretty!! but I think it would have been prettier if she didn't cut the front. a long skirt would have been better more classy imo
You are incredibly talented. My mother is a couturier and I grew up to be a very finicking girl especially when it comes to dressmaking. And I can say, you're killing it both aestheticly and technically. Love from Istanbul.
itsEmiley I really liked the peachy summer one she did. But this is so awesome that she designed a more formal look. Honestly I would've worn it to my Homecoming maybe even prom with some nice jewelry and a half up-half down hair-do
I probably would add some quarter inch to an inch thick straps that I could tie into a bow around my neck and that's all. I did wear a strapless dress for prom and dancing and even sitting became difficult (it was a ball gown so yeah...)
I really wish I was patient enough to make my own clothes but I get frustrated easily and id probably end up launching the sewing machine through a window.
Sarah Green Try making pillows first. Its super easy to sew a square and stuff it. Thats how I started sewing; it built up my tolerance and now I sew whole garments and costumes!
I have been enjoying her videos! I do sew and don't have a mannequin. I do things the old fashioned way but get great results. I was altering a dress shirt and its way easier then I thought it would be. Getting a sewing machine at a thrift store would be a great idea for anyone looking to save a lot of money on clothes! You can create so much using your own old clothes and cheap clothes you can buy at discount racks. I always look for damaged items I can fix and buy cheap. Also altering those to fit. Watching these videos helps you see what you can do with the really big items that have beautiful fabrics! I will be doing this kind of work now. Thank you for these videos!
You are so very talented and have an amazing eye for fashion!!! I'm blown away by your ability to visualize something completely different from the pieces you start with!!! 😍
I’m so happy to have found your channel! This is SO right up my alley!! I do this stuff all the time! Usually to make stuff for my daughter, not to sell... But how awesome that you have created a lucrative business for yourself!!
Okay, so this is the first video I've seen of you, so I wanted you to know that my jaw FREAKING dropped when I saw the transformation! That was incredible!
Holy cow! This is amazing! You are so talented at sewing, but also the way you could look at that piece and envision transforming it like that is beyond impressive!!
You are amazing. I would have looked at that dress and thought, "love the fabric, what a pity", and tossed it into a goodwill bin. It's shocking what you looked at it as saw, then transformed it into. LOVE IT!
Why are people still writing first instead of writing their own original comment. It's annoying. why dont you "first" commentors comment about how she did a wonderful job instead of leaving a stupid comment
why are people still complaining about others that leave first comments instead of writing their own original comment. It's annoying. why don't you 'complaining' commentors comment about how she did a wonderful job instead of leaving such a negative comment.
kibaAndrenjiluver16 dude, people get excited about being early. people will usually comment something else after anyway so just mind your own business because it's not harming you nor anyone else.
This video just made me subscribe for the atitude. I love how she admitted that she had to use double sided tape to keep the top up, not making unrealistic expectations if you do something like that and it doesn't stay up. That's the kind of realistic atitude I love
Your design and finished product is absolutely gorgeous. I just wish I knew enough about sewing that I could follow along and understand each step of the construction.
This is one of my favorites yet. April, I love threadbangers too. I made a quilted bag from that umbrella bag video. I used a whole bunch of 3 inch squares instead. I use it for the beach. So easy to wash.
Meche Landeira they actually contacted her months ago or a year ago i think and she told them she wasnt quite ready for the challenge yet, but i cant wait either!
Incredible!! Fashion plait you make me so happy watching these!!! Such lovely whimsical imagination I bet all your Gfs must love all your clothes!! I’m binging your videos. Thank you for making my day.
oh my goodness this turned out even better than i thought it would by looking at the thumbnail. probably one of my favourites now. i hope there are prom dresses similar to this, i would love to wear it.
I honestly wish your designs were sold in stores. I'd love to have a prom dress designed by you.
Same!!
Rachel Gonzalez , Omg!!! YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
YES
True
It is beautiful and u look great!
I love that not only does she make gorgeous pieces, but she never seems to say anything bad about the original clothing.
That's cuz she makes bad so good 😀
I like how she explanes this as if someone would be able to create it
Tammy Chen someone who knows stitching will 🤨
@@gunjanvyas9065 she is saying that no one can do the same thing because the clothes are thrifted
But she gives a person wonderful ideas on what you could do with similar items. She makes her own patterns, but you can buy patterns and do the same thing with the clothing.
I sure feel inspired.
She's making a joke.. like saying nobody is talented enough to recreate this.
Holy crap, it's not only gorgeous but the finishes, especially on the inside, are incredible! It's better finished than most clothes sold in stores O.ô
You should try out for project runway!😊
Skye True-Hagenstein Ikr! She's so talented and creative!
Skye True-Hagenstein I thought that show was over! 😱
Nope. We're on season 15 now.
Someone from one of her other videos said she was invited but declined because she didn't feel like she was ready :) don't know if it's true tho
Skye True-Hagenstein she's not ready
I liked how much more you talked about your thought process in this video!
Hannah E thanks! I had to share it cus I was so amazed when it turned into a skirt lol
Hannah E Glad you mentioned this. I agree.
I don't usually leave comments but I just gotta say this, you should DEFINITELY design a collection of your own! Seriously, your thrifted designs are so much better than what is sold out there
Tip: Sand the sharps ends of boning so it doesn't wear the fabric down and rip through it
Who isn't actually gonna make anything, and is just here because this looked cool?
I would love to see a bridesmaid gown or wedding gown turn into a high end jumper.
Tien Le That is a really good idea!
Tien Le yes!!! things like bridesmaid dresses etc only get worn once, but they're often made of such nice fabric, it would be really cool so see April transform one into a jumper!
Natasha Rose I think she should do a series on bridesmaids dress transformation.
Tien Le Amazing idea!!!
Bridesmaid Dresses are very expensive, maybe someone who wants theirs transformed could send it to her, along with their body measurements. That way April doesn't have to buy a wedding dress
i got completely lost during the top half, watching you for me is like watching a conjuring trick, but i still enjoy it immensely!
Josephine Winter samee
I understood but it may be because I always sew.
I don't know how to sew and I want to learn so it's a learning process for me
even though I'm a guy I just wanted to say all your tips and tricks for sewing have helped me in my journey, now I can tailor all my own clothing and started to pick up thrift items to make them nicer :)
Love that you are turning out of fashion clothes into stylish new fashion. Now that what I call saving the environment. By making sure that one less piece of synthetic fabric goes into a landfill.
I'm a guy with no interest in fashion, but her pure talent keeps me watching her videos. Good job
went from hideous to super classy love it
How great that you go out and buy super inexpensive clothing and transform them into pieces people would pay 100s for. Just one suggestion, could you please put how much you purchased the original item for in your future videos? I think it would add to the wow factor.
i would buy your thrifted transformations.
and yayyy!! 1 million!!!!
I would buy the dress too !! it's so pretty!! but I think it would have been prettier if she didn't cut the front. a long skirt would have been better more classy imo
Bianca B ikr! I am making this rn!!
old country
She did not cut the front, she explained how she was making it in the beginning as the dress already had that design out for her.
Wow. Even if I never pick up sewing, your videos make me appreciate what goes into fashion and clothing so much more. So impressed.
I have been sewing for fortyfive years. Started when i was about fifteen. You remind me of me!
This is ridiculously gorgeous. I'd wear it to prom.
you look like a celebrity/artist walking down the red carpet!!
You must have the best wardrobe ever 😩😩
Imma need about 10 years of sewing experience to be half as good as you oml youre like a sewing fairy

You are incredibly talented. My mother is a couturier and I grew up to be a very finicking girl especially when it comes to dressmaking. And I can say, you're killing it both aestheticly and technically. Love from Istanbul.

Josh Thomas Too late, she's already on FIRE!!! Lol!
You killed it. The print. the cut. the flow of the dress. Amazing.
Dang, I didn't even realize how fast this channel grew. I've been here since about 1k and now you're over here with 1million plus, congrats April 💖💖💖
Killed it as per usual!! This might be one of my favourites you've ever done :)
itsEmiley I really liked the peachy summer one she did. But this is so awesome that she designed a more formal look. Honestly I would've worn it to my Homecoming maybe even prom with some nice jewelry and a half up-half down hair-do
itsEmiley I agree!!! I love how it flows and the bodice is just perfect!
I probably would add some quarter inch to an inch thick straps that I could tie into a bow around my neck and that's all. I did wear a strapless dress for prom and dancing and even sitting became difficult (it was a ball gown so yeah...)
Silk like straps would be nice
Ariana Espinosa Great idea about the straps-I love the halter style!

I really wish I was patient enough to make my own clothes but I get frustrated easily and id probably end up launching the sewing machine through a window.

Sarah Green That's totally me, no patience 😑
Sarah Green 😂😂
Sarah Green Try making pillows first. Its super easy to sew a square and stuff it. Thats how I started sewing; it built up my tolerance and now I sew whole garments and costumes!
Sarah Green Right 😂😂
the video hasn't even started and i love it.
I have been enjoying her videos! I do sew and don't have a mannequin. I do things the old fashioned way but get great results. You are so very talented and have an amazing eye for fashion!!! I'm blown away by your ability to visualize something completely different from the pieces you start with!!! 😍
So much gorgeous fabric. I'm glad you used as much as possible.
I love how the hem of the skirt flows with the horsehair in it! beautiful!!
probably my favorite transformation you've ever done! the end result is so gorgeous!
Have you ever considered auditioning for Project Runway? You so should!
I’m so happy to have found your channel! This is SO right up my alley!! I do this stuff all the time! Usually to make stuff for my daughter, not to sell... But how awesome that you have created a lucrative business for yourself!!
The end result looks epic. I really wanna have that but I'm lazy
I love it. I can't believe how simple it looks comparatively, now I just need the same kind of dress
I can see you being a winner on project runway. love your work

You'll get to 1 million in no time. You deserve it. Love your videos! ♡♡
Why are people still writing first instead of writing their own original comment. It's annoying. why dont you "first" commentors comment about how she did a wonderful job instead of leaving a stupid comment
kibaAndrenjiluver16 haha exactly !! Generally the people who comment first do it even before they had the chance to watch the video
why are people still complaining about others that leave first comments instead of writing their own original comment. It's annoying. why don't you 'complaining' commentors comment about how she did a wonderful job instead of leaving such a negative comment.
kibaAndrenjiluver16... thous people who do that are called kids... so don't get worked up about it... 😆
kibaAndrenjiluver16 here, here! Kiba! Kiba! Kiba!
kibaAndrenjiluver16 dude, people get excited about being early. people will usually comment something else after anyway so just mind your own business because it's not harming you nor anyone else.
This video just made me subscribe for the atitude. I love how she admitted that she had to use double sided tape to keep the top up, not making unrealistic expectations if you do something like that and it doesn't stay up. That's the kind of realistic atitude I love
