  • If years have passed and you still haven't worn some clothes in your closet, it's time to give them a new life! Instead of donating mine and buying new clothes, I decided to just change up what I already owned to SAVE MONEY and have a NEW wardrobe. Hope you enjoy :) #diyfashion #reuse #coolirpa

Do i know how to sew? No.
Will i ever learn to sew? Also no.
BUT HERE I AM. IN LOVE WITH YOUR VIDEOS. 😂

So funny, I agree. I am learning to sew and one of my friends was making a bag that didn't act right, she just cut away a little of this, adjusted a little of that and to see that was so liberating lol It let me know that mistakes don't have to be permanent, you can make some cool things from the mistakes.

You should make videos of going into other people's closets and transforming clothes they want to get rid of into something fresh.

You are very skilful; I love the way you just pick up the fabric & sew, without pinning or tacking - just the way I do it (except it works for you!)

Love it! I keep seeing adds for these wrap dresses that you loop around one shoulder, wrap it around & loop it over the other. I thought, maybe you could make them out of old sheets from the thrift store with funky patterns? If you could make some as a test run, that would be awesome!

    • @alyssar272

Buying old sheets from the thrift store is NEVER a good idea unless they're in an unopened package

Love the transformations; the finished items all look delightful and flattering on you! I must say that those pants - and the way you've styled them with the shirt - I love the most! Talk about both stylish and comfortable...and something my 53-y.o. self could wear.
I also just want to thank you for all these videos - since finding your channel, and a couple of others - I've been inspired to do more sewing and specifically, modifying or completely re-purposing both thrift store clothes and those from my own wardrobe. Keep up the great work!

For marking the cloth with soap....What i like to do is wash hands with a bar of soap for a long time, each time palms together to make the soap into a very thin oval with sharp edges(dont know if that made sense) and use that to mark things. Easier than using a huge bar.
    Ps! Congrats on the engagement!!!
