Something to always remember, the Mosquito can give cooldown items. Also something to remember, remove items that lower the cooldown of your items from the board before you use cooldown related "junk" items. Example from this run 12:08 6% of 10 seconds is more than 6% of 9 seconds. You can also reduce the cooldowns more if you have items that increase the cooldowns on the board.
It doesn't work that way. E.g. if you had reduce cdr by 50%, so 10s normally and 5s with reduction, then add 20% more cdr you'd have: 8s and 4s Now add 50% cdr to 8s again, and it's also 4s. Or remove 50% reduction on 4s and it will return to 8s. I'd also imagine the game logic simply keeps track of a single cdr value that is changed, the applied once. Instead of actually modifying the items time value directly with each cdr change.
@@shoecar89 You can even see it in this video. He used -6% CD while the weapon had -10% CD buff, so -6% was applied to 9s giving him a rounded 8.5s CD as you can see at 16:46. I was going to comment this, but glad someone else has. It is a small optimisation, but it can make a big difference. If Rhaps takes Starchart off of the Sniper for each of these, it would have been even faster than it ended up being.
One comment I have, which should be alleviated a lot by your usage of the tool for enemies, is that you often prioritize the rightmost enemy too much. Some of the enemies you've been ignoring have some really good loot, including the thug you've already seen. In this episode you passed over the Boilerroom Brawler which has some of my favorites to abuse, it has a few items that can be used to upgrade your other items for free (one upgrades tools on day start, other upgrades the left item on level up) it makes upgrading your board WAY easier and it's a fun metagame to manage as well. Of course, you're not guaranteed to get it but still. I also really like the roc bird :D
Vanessa is great at both oneshotting people with her weapons and weapon support, as well as surviving oneshots with life preserver. Thanks for the video.
Btw, im pretty sure that traits are tailored to what is on your board and in your backpack. Which means that magma core you were holding for example was giving you a bunch of garbage burn skills.
9:00 Giant musquito was always the correct one here, even if you were able to take on Boarrior or the Thief. Also two times No Pain No Gain in a row on the sniper rifle is utterly ridiculously broken. 70hp is nothing in the grand scheme of the game. 60 damage on your rifle and 10% crit chance is. Next time I urge you to take the early No Pain No Gain and just spend an extra trip to get Chocolat Bars to make up for it. Lategame No Pain No Gain often isn't worth it anymore, because by that time you're spending 400+ health. 19:39 In this case Bloodreef Raider is fine, because you do want the Crow's Nest. In 99% of the cases you ALWAYS fight the Boilerroom Brawler though, because he has 2 items that you can get that upgrade items on your board or inventory for free. On top of that he also has a great skill. The loot on Boilerroom Brawler is just insane. 22:00 Crowd control can't crit though, so I'd probably still put the shield next to the Star Chart. 27:00 Next time, buy the Captains Wheel. Next to Sniper and Crow's Nest, you have 5 more spaces, just enough for the Cove and the Captains Wheel. Cove is a large item that gives you shield on a 3 second cooldown, activating Captains Wheel, which hastes up both your Sniper Rifle and your Cove. It is exactly everything you want in the Sniper Build. 38:50 Yes Cove does go in this build, exactly with the Captains Wheel. See above 😂 39:55 Mister Moo is a fun fight with some nice loot, though I've never managed to get anything but the Incendiary Rounds from him. I do urge you to Raid the Vault at some point, there is a hilarious legendary item you can get, which I'm not gonna spoil here 😉. 44:40 Regen and Crit only work on board yes. I would have strongly considered it over the Star Chart though, yes you lose some haste, but no crit and you gain regen and you have that sweet +3 xp per player kill. Seems totally worth it for now. 48:00 The feathers are good, but what you really want is the unique monster skill. On crit you haste. 1:03:30 Should be the Sniper, you can get the one that prevents the weapon from ever being slowed, frozen or destroyed. Which basically negates your only counter. 1:11:57 The max income and the max health gain from Signet Ring work from the storage. Always buy it and just carry it around. 1:13:34 I though you finally noticed when you forgot to swap in the friend before taking the Loot Items option, but you don't have to have the friend on your board as you click it. Having it in inventory is just fine. 😂 Nice run though, early Sniper Rifle is just nuts like you showed here. That aside, I do truly believe there is some build for the Tripwire (item that slows your opponents items 1 second when they use it). That, together with some good shield gain and an early Tropical Island that you upgrade to diamond as fast as you can could be the basis of the super rare sustain build on Vanessa. You would need to get to every loot item shop that you can to find the items that increase the slow duration on the Tripwire, 1 second is just not enough to matter. I've never managed to pull it off, but someday, someday I will 😂.
It's a bit of micro but it seems to be worth it to remove all cooldown reducing items (i.e. silencer and star chart) before using a CDR buff like you get from the feathers. It's seems to give a percentage CDR of the cooldown timer at the time of use. This way, if you ever sell the silencer or star chart, you have the biggest buff possible built into the rifle.
I think silencer's cooldown reduction is if it is on the board and you have one weapon, only the damage requires adjacency still useful but could have opened up swashbuckler if it showed up.
Wow! That was amazing! Also I don't know if this really works, but I saw some people taking of coldown reduction before selling magic feature to get more coldown

@caydensmith3291 I thought maybe game does some internal rounding, but you are propably right. It would matter with the item that increases coldown by 1s flat.

Boarrior kills a 300 HP Character with no defense or disruption in exactly 16 seconds, with a 30% chance to crit on the 12th second and finish the job then and there. Slow might have given you a bit more time, but not much. It was wise to avoid it.
You couldve moved the silencer away from the sniper rifle and it would still work as long as the sniper rifle is to the left of it on board, it doesnt have to be adjacent
take your reduced cooldown items off the board before you sell a reduce item cooldown and it'll lower it more. most times you get an extra .1 reduction.
Today i Managed to have a sniper with 250k dmg and over100%cr the key to this was spice with 2 ammo charges but the 250k dmg was online possible vs the Dummy any other player or npc was oneshot with the 25kdmg sniper (spice triggered 0,1sec)for the sniper
First video I watch from this guy, it was very informative, but the fact that he kept the sextant even when it wasn't adjacent to the sniper and it was almost completely useless drove me up a wall
it was a deliberate choice, as the usefulness was the haste on crit which didnt care about positioning. It only later became useless once sniper was hasting itself on every use
@chaoz1666 yeah, and it was awful. Haste on crit is good if you shoot multiple times, which was rare. So many better options for 2 spaces, slow, freeze, other sources of haste, clamera would have been great. Even the position of the silencer was questionable. He was indecisive in balancing everything, go hard on crow's nest, get more crit to reach 100%, ditch sextant and don't mess with double lifesteal should have been the plan from the early to midgame
Thank you so much for showing this game off, it is awesome! Next time you Pygmalian, try to get the beehive online. Finding the Apropos Chapeau on day 5 was the key. Put a bee on each side of it, then model ship next to one of the bees, the enemy uses an item my bees trigger, which triggers the model ship, which triggers the Apropos which grows the bees. I also had the ATM on the board to produce a bit more shield. The coolest thing about the build is the faster the enemy went, the faster I went. Didn't win until day 6, didn't lose after that. Thanks again!
*aims at you with a sniper rifle* Heeeeey! You can't use a revolver! Lol. I think the revolver just looked hi-tech because of the intricate details on the engravings AND it does match her shotgun.
You joke about the setting, but it's one of the main reasons I am doubting if this game is actually for me. I hate it so much when a setting mixes fantasy stuff and pirates with things that are specifically from our world like a forklift of all things. It really takes me out of the fantasy and that is one of the things that draws me to a game like this in the first place.
@_korbo_ it's not about the tech. I like fantasy worlds that have tech. I just want it to be unique to that world rather than it be mundane stuff from our own world.
@@Drecon84 well i mean you're of course entitled to like the things that you like, but to me it just feels weirder to think that such a world _wouldn't_ arrive to the same technological advancements, they are all very logically driven-- while it may not necessarily look exactly like a forklift, the logical concept of a vehicle made to carry heavy things is pretty universal.
@_korbo_ sure. But look at the forklift in The Bazaar. It's just a regular forklift that you could see around the corner here. As I said: I don't mind the tech and not even the idea that there could be parallel tech lines with our world. But if it's a carbon copy it loses my interest. And I completely understand that other people don't mind this so much or might even like it better that way. Neither option is better or worse, just different.
@@_korbo_ I have been thinking about this some more and I think there's some evidence for a third option that might leave us both in the right. I have noticed that for each character the themes are actually followed through very well (such as the submarine fitting perfectly in a pirate fantasy world). What if the characters are all from different parallel universes? I could see a parallel universe that is similar to ours that is inhabited by pigs rather than humans. It would fit perfectly with everything that we see in the game. I will have to wait until we get more lore, but it actually seems to fit well and it would leave me more than satisfied.
I know, but it opened up the possibility of swapping the Crow's Nest out if I found something better for those 3 slots since I no longer rely on it for the lifesteal.

how do you see what the npc enemies have?
28:20 if you never got it, the word for that is anachronistic!
You couldve moved the silencer away from the sniper rifle and it would still work as long as the sniper rifle is to the left of it on board, it doesnt have to be adjacent
it does for the 50 dmg which in the end was 2000 dmg so not nothing
Morning, Rhaps!
Howd you know i was going on break literally right now? Cheers rhaps!
take your reduced cooldown items off the board before you sell a reduce item cooldown and it'll lower it more. most times you get an extra .1 reduction.
The crow nedt gives lifesteal
28:20 is the word your looking for Anochronistic?
Check the name of the opponent ;)
lol! Complains that the revolver is too high tech for the setting... * is using a sniper rifle *
I'm not *actually* complaining, just setting up a pun.
Silencer say's weapon to the left, not adjacent...
Thanks again!
i dont get teh revolver joke
Boom!
Headshot
This game is sooo good but those oneliners are like nails on a chalkboard...
*aims at you with a sniper rifle* Heeeeey! You can't use a revolver!
Lol. I think the revolver just looked hi-tech because of the intricate details on the engravings AND it does match her shotgun.
You could say it looks… anachronous
(Check the name of the opponent)
You joke about the setting, but it's one of the main reasons I am doubting if this game is actually for me. I hate it so much when a setting mixes fantasy stuff and pirates with things that are specifically from our world like a forklift of all things.
It really takes me out of the fantasy and that is one of the things that draws me to a game like this in the first place.
What makes it in your head that a fantasy world cannot have technology?
Anachronous pun. Terrible. Im upset i didnt come up with it first
Another day of asking if you could enchant an on sell item ^v^
I don't think it's possible, but if I get in the position to I'll check for you
1:05:59 You already had lifesteal on that weapon. You didnt need that enchantment.
I know, but it opened up the possibility of swapping the Crow's Nest out if I found something better for those 3 slots since I no longer rely on it for the lifesteal.
@@RhapsodyPlays ok, i rewatched and saw you comment on that. Understandable sir, have a nice day.
lmao bang
