I WAS GOING TO SAY EXACTLY THAT lol
LOL
Well, you filled in any cavities.
Lol. That’s so funny!! LOL
Imagine walking around a grocery store and some guy has a Mandalorian helmet on instead of a regular face shield.
I LOWKEY WANT TO SEE THAT

I would just say " This is the way "
You could only realistically get away with this at Walmart..but I'd love to see it.

This channel really doesn’t get all the attention that it really deserves. Some of the helmets take hundreds of hours to build
I_like_ Star_Wars_ I agree
Thank you very much!

Ok, everything is ready! Now i just need a 3D printer..
The Ender3 is reasonably cheap and pretty reliable.

A lot of libraries have them now and all you have to pay for is filament that you use.

and remember mix fluids on your knee, its a very stable spot.
Wait you have you guys touched bondo? It's cool once it dries, I have had it on my skin before and I thought that it was weird and I needed to get it off before it dried.
"this helmet was my most frustrating build ever" *prints it*
"Dont have a printer? Buy a helmet from me" also I wonder how cosplay competitions handle 3d printed items. Do you have to prove you made the file?
@@theridley6451 I doubt it, especially because much of the work isn't in the printing, but in the post-processing anyway
@@StalePhish I've been disqualified for using patterns before I'd say the hardest part is the 3d sculpting sure you have to sand the print and paint it when it's done but that is the same for anything except maybe vacuum form
Why don't you build your respirator inside a Star Wars helmet? It would fit really well in a clone trooper helmet
I’ve thought the same thing haha
What if the dust and paint got on the respirator helmet? If he did that, he would need to make sure he was ok with the design getting messed up as he goes on. It would look cool though.

I've been watching ~30 videos on this but the result on this helmet is by faaaaar the best! Mad respect and thank you!!
Honestly this channel is so good and it really deserves more subs. I love the content and thanks for the tutorial!
Just finished printing off a Mando Helmet for my sisters birthday coming up, was inspired by this channel to get a 3d printer and this was the first major project I did with it. Turning out great so far
“I need to get me one of those.”
I use spazstix chrome for my rc bodies, never would have I thought it be used for mando's helmet finish! So cool!
....
“Take that off.”
wow you´re an artist.
Him: Don't touch it with your bare skin.
Me: Sees huge glops all over his legs
I never watch these videos all though I do follow someone called it's a Gundam who other than his main videos does work on such detailed stuff that being said What drew me here Mandalorian as I'm finally watching it and that helmet I want it and I wanted enough that it's something I will get because I want it so thank you for this video and keep up the good work done some detailed paint work in the past that I wish I was practicing more often
State of the art equipment : a stick he found on the ground.
If you buff the graphite with a cotton ball or makeup pad you can touch it all you want. I did that with mine and I didn’t even need a clear coat
Great job, but I've noticed you don't bother with the print lines on the bottom of your projects. You should try using Milliput, two part putty that when hard is sandable. Helps to fill in larger 'rings' as seen on the bottom.
OMG the wait was worth it! It has just become amazing! Keep it up!
2:24 Jango?
lol
This should be on trending
Congrats, it was on my trending haha
Awesome! Next build a Vader helmet that has the shape used in empire strikes back, i'd LOVE to see that. The empire strikes back version helmet was the best one I think
So excited! The Mando helmet is on my printer right now, looking forward to giving your finishing techniques a try.
TheRealJoRo how is this comment 3 days old?!?!
Wait what how is that possible!
Galactic Armory's patrons can see it earlier than other viewers.
@Leveling Up Your Finances hi use a cr-10
The 3-D printer seems to be the major factor in making this. It's almost like saying, if you want to build a rocket, all you need is a rocket maker and some paint. It came out great though and I got some great tips on how to paint a good looking chrome effect.
The title better “how to paint 3D print Mando helmet”
He did make his own helmet though, so that title wouldn’t be all that he did
@@nattydaddy915 but he didnt show the process
Wow, that's superb, I have spoken.
Yes, do the armor just like you did the trooper armor!!!
That looks so dope, it's a beautiful display piece of art that you can also wear!!! AWESOME,!!!
I literally watch this man build a helmet as he’s recommending how it’s done
While I’m just eating my food
...And?
I liked the Black look before it got turned to chrome. I would love to see a Mandalorian with assassin black armor. I bet gun metal gray would look pretty good also.
when the tape was on it looked like jango's helmet a bit
Good vid man. I do body work on cars and use the 'red toothpaste' every day. Might i give some suggestions? Hope to maybe make it easier for you and maybe take less steps.
You could probably up the grit to 180 from 120 and use the 180 to get high/uneven spots flat with a sander. You could then take some 400grit and use that with water to wet sand it even smoother by hand. Make the bondo as transparent on the helmet as you can only leaving it in the lines. At this point before the primer goes on is when i would suggest looking over the helmet really well and add maybe with a small flexible bondo spreader more bondo in the spots needed. Pulling the bondo fairly 'tight' to the surface so you dont have globs or excessive thickness. If you do tight pulls you will be able to simply 400 wet sand the areas with out having to return to such a harsh grit. How deep are the printer lines? Ive never seen such a big object printed before. With it 400 wet sanded it should provide a very smooth surface then when you prime it it should be near flawless. You should then be able to lightly sand that 1 coat of primer with 600* grit wet or dry. Remove the dust fully(blow it off and then microfiber it) and its good to paint.
* Cars are only brought out to 600grit before paint is applied. It should be enough for your helmet especially if you do it wet. 1000grit may not be needed. Also if you use an HVLP spray gun it might help you as well. It will help you with quicker coverage, a more uniformed look(not that yours wasnt but with an airbrush like you were using it takes much longer to get the desired look) and you can use the 1 gun for all the paints providing you clean it out properly in between. The cheapest gun ive ever used that surprisingly can put out a decent finish is a $15 harbor freight HVLP gun. Be worth looking into if this is something you are doing a lot of.
Dont know if this might help you at all but i dig the helmet man. Good work. I mean if you live in FL and would like some help on another one...
Hey, i just wanted to let you know that i just finished my own 3D printed Mandalorian helmet based on your directions and honestly it turned out great. It was more work than i anticipated but i powered through and now have a piece of Star Wars i can wear. Thanks for the video it really helped and your speech mid way was inspiring. cheers.
How many hours total would you guess ?
I would like to purchase your helmet. I have plates of 99.99 pure beskar for trade,
I hope you sanded before the bondo. Lathering on the bondo without bothering to sand anything was a bush league move at best.
you should do a chrome base and then a black over it
Who else thinks that he should do captain rex next?
He already did technically
Lynda The Legend wdym
He has enough variations of helmets to make rex. You just paint it yourself
No he should do an arc trooper like fives or bly
@@keandras8584 да 👍
Yeah,... 120grit is crazy rough
I would have first started with 180 or higher grit paper at the beginning. Then went with 600 grit on the second round & etc,..
Kosmic Krome Mirror Paint on a black primer. Would give a nice look
Plot Twist: He is the actual Mandalorian
Technicallly i copied your comment but didn't notice.
My comment was
Plot Twist: He actually found beskar.
Fun fact those pads are the same we used in our ACH helmets. In case u wanted them.
3:33 Sith mandalorian? Are you gonna be in season 3!?!?!
Amazing work and it is also a great protection during the pandemic.
Just printed mine out, took 70 hours to print but it’s an absolutely beautiful print! Thanks for the file!
😱
Guess I won't be able to use borrow my school's 3D printer if it's that long.
@@hearthatbird Mine is printing in just over 48 hours. And, I am making it beefy.
What kind of 3D printer do you have, I need to get one but I need to find a affordable one that can fit this design
@@blade_wizard7684 I have a CR-10
You could also glue a head grip inside the helmet you'd be able to adjust the strap around your forehead.
You should make an EA Battlefront II jet trooper jet jet pack
Same pad set style that we have in our military helmets
Scale/Sizing Question: I purchased this file and I would really appreciate it if you could provide some advice for finding the best scale/sizing to use for the model before printing. It seems like the file for the helmet is scaled differently than the rest of the armor (which have all turned out phenomenally, by the way) - After a lot of trial and error, I settled on a 95.43% scale for the armor thus far, but doing the same for the helmet makes it look like a bobblehead when I line them all up virtually within Cura. I'd like to measure twice and print once, so is there any help you can provide?
No reply lol
For future people that have this same question. I sliced the helmet file just above the visor and printed a small 5mm high section to make sure it would fit on my head and resized from there. The one gotcha with mando helmets is the cheek indents, which are smaller than the head part. So, you want to cut and test print a 5mm high section from there as well.
i want to make one out of actual steel. probably heavy but totally worth it. trying to figure out how to forge my armor.
This is the way. I have spoken.

beautiful job!!! congrats! Dont know if i will reach that quality.... (I dont use airbrush)
At the point in the video where you were like “3D printer” I was like oh this is one of those videos you just watch and appreciate, not actually attempt
Actually, it's basically just the Bondolorian before you sand it
Love how the tape used coincidentally makes the helmet look like Jango's. Neat.
i heard with the graphite powder, that you're supposed to rub it when the paint is still kinda tacky.
Fantastic Work! As a movie model/propbuilder just want to point out that the red stuff is spotting-glazing putty. Bondo is usually the gray/pink heavy paste that uses a catalyst. some people in the shop actually got so quick at applying Bondo filler with a plastic wedge that they didnt even need spot putty.
kandosii'la, thanks for the great beskar effect!
Those are the same pads that were in my Army ACH/MICH Helmet i wore in Iraq.
Great video, but when you hand sand, you should use a foam block to ensure a smooth finish, finger tips are too uneven.
This is the way
It would’ve be easier if you would’ve used real beskar 😂
What do you use for the visors? Like what should i search for when looking for one?
This is the way
Stuart Semple has recently brought out a liquid mirror paint. I wonder how that would look on a helmet.

Hello, I just bought the 3d file, will you have the recommendations on how to print it and how long did it take you to print it?
Same questions here. I've bought this exact printer.

Amazing job! in your 3d print, you didn't use support for inside of the helmet (botton of the inner top)?
when i saw Boba Fett’s armor in season 2 episode 1, i was like “YOO BOBA FETT-“ but then when he removed his helmet i was like “that’s not him...” lol
Im curious if you could have sealed it with a glossy spar urethane.

Just curious what infill you are using on most of your helmets. About to start a few Stormtrooper Helmets for me and my kids.

Let's make a this is the way chain. This is the way
I had a question how did you take out the inside pillar support without cracking the top
So cool great job
Any ideas for doing the weathering if I don’t have a air brush, but do have black spray paint can?
Will be doing one myself. Now I was in your website and you have the files for all the armor including helmet it’s it all wearable?
Why don't you build your respirator inside a Star Wars helmet? It would fit really well in a clone trooper helmet
Just bought the mando .STL if you could please message me that would be great. Been supporting along time, love the channel. Learned a lot from you on printing
Muchas Gracias !!! Nice 👊
im curious, would the resin work OVER the paint and the clearcoat? im thinking about doing a red hood helmet and i wanted it to have an extra protective layer on the outside?
Brilliant
