i had to get the emulator on this game to play on my phone. This was like finding a Unicorn, I had totally forgot about this game and even in the 90s it was a rare machine to find. A lot of arcades did not carry it
i used to love playing this game in Arcades, wish I could play 4 player online Snake Eyes was my favorite character as a kid growing up, he never talked so his glasses flashing white were awesome. Cobra Commander didn't have that same voice in the show lol If he did it would've been way scarier

G.I. Joe, despite access the best talent, technology, and leadership the entire U.S. military possesses, couldn't come up with a better plan than having four agents approach the enemy compound at a dead sprint across the desert, armed only with whatever weapons they could carry on their backs.
So we're just gonna gloss over the fact that Snake Eyes is talking in this game? Also, if Cobra took over the world BEFORE this game started doesn't that make GI Joe VERY VERY NEGLIGENT in their duties?

I have a few issues with this Cobra guy: How rich could they be a they can move an army big enough to send the world to shit? By the number of downs on Cobra's side, I can think they are employing a half of world population, so, GIJ are the bad guys, and they went to private, destroyede every single wild animal and tree to destroy you. And finally, if you have all that money, resources, factories and people working for you, isn't it better if you just make trade deals with the rest of the world? Maybe sell weapons to a guy named George Bush.
Juan Jacobo Guzman I think I can answer those three questions: 1. COBRA is funded by Tomax and Xamot who in the public are just buisiness owners of a multibillion dollar company. All the shit COBRA build is made possible from the buisnesses they secretly owned. And how they house this shit? In a small all american town in I believe Conneticut that serves as their main base of operations. 2. COBRA doesn’t just recruit people (or brainwash them), they also create their soldiers. And I don’t mean robots. They actual dabble in cloning their men, which is all made possible by their leading scientist Doctor Mindbender. So a lot of the people the Joes kill are clones homegrown to only obey COBRA. 3. Yeah that is a reasonable move to make, however Cobra Commander is a fucking nutcase. He believes that he should rule everything, and not by the passive means of diplomacy; but rather by brute force. But if you want the COBRA that does the whole selling of weapons as war profiteers and owning their own buisness, watch GI Joe Renegade. No seriously, it was a good show go watch it. COBRA there are a pharmaceutical company who secretly builds weapons and perform unethical experiments for the purpose of slowly taking over the world in shadow, and the Joes are literal terrorist out to destroy their base of operations. Really good twist on the formula.

I think I saw more death in the first 5 seconds of this game than I did on all of the episodes of GI Joe TV show combined.

The 3rd 4-player cabinet version of G.I. Joe is very similar to The Main Event, Crime Fighters, and Punk Shot enclosures.

This game was at my local Chuck E Cheese growing up, next to Turtles in Time.

That's an emulation issue as the emulators can't perfectly emulate this game yet. This happens with various Konami arcade games and such.

It is, but the emulator is poorly optimized so you're getting many missing textures, like water surface

There isn't a separate version for 4 players. You need to change from 2 to 4 player in the dipswitch setting.
