I love the lyrics "she recites her role's final line" bc as we know that's Allen pretending to be her, he's acting out a role. I just thought that was a nice detail
Every time I listen to this song, I can't help but associate her with Marie Antoinette and what happened to her. Watching this video, I noticed that when the people are marching in the palace's courtyard to get the Queen, its floor resembles a chessboard, same as Versailles', and in my head, the connection grows stronger. I don't know if this detail was done on purpose or was a coincidence, but it sent shivers down my spine.
Also, I'm really happy about this cover, I've been waiting for literal years and I was SO excited when I saw it!
The story of evil is actually inspired by the french revolution
Riliane was also inspired by Marie Antoinette, with Riliane’s infamous quote “let them eat cake” being the same quote associated with the former Queen of France.
the saddest part is that princess Riliane (daughter of evil) is 14 years old, the same age as Marie was when she arrived in Versailles, both were too young for these experiences
I love this, it's such a soft take on the song that sounds so sweet. I also love how it echos more of a girl manipulated by those around her compared to an evil queen. She never had a real chance, being surrounded by thorns from the beginning.
@Teresa nu what do you mean all she had to do was to not cause a justification for war that results in a opposition coalition from every neighboring kingdom. The songs also mentioned that her Kingdom is a regional power as well so the external power thorn is settled. Additionally, from her reckless acting without any considerable opposition means that we can safely assume that the Kingdom’s nobility had been significantly weakened by the previous ruler, thus, all powers lies in the Royalty, so internal power is also settled. Rarely do rulers’ predicament are this easy and somehow she fucked it up
@@usaball9190 She was never taught about any of that. All she ever got told was that being a princess means you got whatever you wanted without worry. Not only did no one bother to teach her any better, it's heavily implied her advisors encouraged that behavior for their own benefit! She only learned about consequences when it all came crashing down on her.
@@teresanu if advisors are the puppet master, did they, as adults, not bother to at least set up an alliance and diplomatic ties with other nations for an impending war? It’s seem as if a kid with no one to oppose her, yolo her kingdom to the ground. Personally I blame the parents for not appointing a guardian advisor which have precedence over the child emperor until a certain age(which is most common).
Doesn't seem so, but it doesn't suprise me. As far as songs go all the blame is put on the evil princess, her poor servants are mere victims to her wraith. They would have been able to take whatever they wanted and then get away scot-free when their scapegoat fell.
@@usaball9190 If I remember right from the Evillious wiki, she was actually possessed by a demon because her maid gave her a mirror that had the demon in it, and she didn't know the demon was in the mirror. Then when Len died for her it was enough of a shock to exorcise the demon.
It seems to me that she was only so terrible because she was possessed and might have been a better ruler if she wasn't.

"She recites her role's final line" wow what a subtle way to refer to servant of evil
The more I listen to it, the more it resembles a chess board. The princess is the king, not holding the most power but commanding the army. Her twin is the queen (or maybe the knight) having alot of power and even killing the enemy queen. Then the tyrant king lost all the pieces when the "lady in red armour" turned into a queen from a pawn. To save the king, the queen blocks the path, intern getting killed, which somehow maybe triggered a stale mate, since neither side won, nor lost. The other side got what they wanted, which was to over throw the evil queen, and technically the symbol of all their hatred was killed. And the true queen (the king) does live on, so none of the sides lost. But in the process, her precious piece was lost
Really, if we're going with the chess analogy, the whole story is a chessboard played by two sorceress. With some of the pieces, particularly queens and kings, playing and using the other pieces in the board. And then, well, a wildcard demon plucks the queen from one side, after that side basically decimated the entire enemy board before being retaliated.
As a chess person who play it as a hobby and vocaloid fan, this analogy is very interesting. Thanks for making my day brighter.

So I am older, I am 27 and I have to say: This Queen was not evil, she was a kid. Bratty, yes but she does not understand the cost of the crown nor the price of her decrees. She's just a kid and that's whats sad. - Of course, if you know the second song, it only makes it more tragic as in the end, they were just children which were failed by the world they were born in.
I mean she was also possessed by the demon of pride but the actions she did was basically her own doing.

I do my best to make my lyrics as original as possible!! I don't ever want other lyricists to feel like their work is being stolen ;o; But its easy to have some lines that are very similar or even the same!
Honestly, I like JubyPhonic's cover better mainly because she takes advantage of every syllable.

I love the different tones her voice takes on some parts. One moment her voice is that of a sweet girl, the next her voice just *screams* malice. Perfectly showing the Queens personality at this point in time. If you, somehow, don't notice then go listen to the part where she says "I want to see that wretched kingdom of green burn". Pay close attention to her voice at that moment and immediately after. That's just one part, she does it throughout the whole song. Masterfully done Liz~

Her parents both passed at the time. Alexiel (Len) had to leave the palace for no further assassination towards him, announced himself as death, changed his name to Allen (basically lost his future throne for his sake), so Riliane (Rin) is the only one can be inherit the kingdom.
Small fact: Riliane is just a ruler, not queen. She paused her coronation till she’s fully grown to pay respect towards her mother. She’s more likely still a princess.
Another small fact: She was possessed by the Demon Of Pride, so don’t ask why she’s such an a**hole -.- . Ask the one who gave her the mirror with the demon in it.

Riliane used to be a nice, sweet and kind girl ever that made her brother devoted everything to protect her. There was definitely a reason that despite all she did, Alexiel still sacrificed his all to her. He truly wanted his small, cute sister to come back to who she used to be and lived happily ever.
That’s an aristocracy for you if the parents die the child is the heir and it often leads to many people trying to manipulate the teenager who is ruling over a kingdom
i mean, looking at history, young monarchs werent exactly unheard of, considering that the throne would go to the heir no matter their age. mary queen of scots comes to mind; she was crowned queen at six _days_ old.
I love how the songs are connects, how it says she looks in the crowd, and in the second one, her twins looks in the crowd. 10/10! Pure perfection.

This is the thing that got me into Evillious Chronicles, I found it through a video told what your favourite Vocaloid song said about you. I thought it sounded cool. About a year later and the series is now something I love way too much. I'm actually quite depressed so i streamed online to find comfort and i found this, it helped a lot even though it gives a depressing thoughts but still gives you a lesson. Thank u for this vid

I love the pictures of the twins during some of the choruses. Why? The first 2 we see, the servent clearly holds her hand, showing he is there for her no matter what. He holds her close because that's what they are and the queen isn't smiling fooor whatever reason? (give me replies if you have theories on why)
And in the Last one, they don't hold hands anymore because they can't be that close anymore since one of them is dead and the other got away which is also why, in my opinion, the queen is smiling. *[SPOILER ALERT FOR SERVANT OF EVIL]* Because she got away even though she clearly regrets her brother. She wants to hold on to him like the first pics but she can't, she has to let him go.

Actually, the one smiling in the end pic is Len. (The bangs show who's who), so the queen is the one with the depressed looking. So I assume Len is smiling because he could save the queen, because he is sure that she'll be safe and live a good life outside of this mess, while the queen regrets everything because she lost him

In their childhood, the princess Riliane (Rin) and the prince Alexiel (Len) of a kingdom called Lucifenia were playing on the beach. As the sun was setting, they tried to rush home because they might be eaten by a hungry "demon", Banica Conchita(MEIKO). Alexiel, feeling sorry for the demon since it said that it would be still hungry even if it ate half of the world, offered it his snack. The demon in gratitude told Alexiel an old legend, a secret about the ocean. Alexiel later told it to his sister.
After King Arth, who built the Lucifenia Kingdom with "Three Heroes", died, Queen Anne (Sweet ANN), ruled over the kingdom. However, a power struggle started among leagues when their twin children Riliane and Alexiel were six years old, and Alexiel was supposed to be dead in the political combat. In fact the Commander of the Royal Guard (and one of the "Three Heroes"), Leonhart Avadonia (LEON) was ordered to take care of the prince, changing Alexiel's name to "Allen". Leonhart raised Allen as his own alongside his adopted daughter, Germaine (Meiko).
This left Riliane, who had grown up in luxury, to rule the kingdom. When she started to rule the kingdom after her mother's death, she imposed heavy taxes on her people and started ruthless purges. Later, Allen returned to the palace as a servant, but Riliane did not remember that he was her twin brother.
A famine started, and Leonhart and lieges who supported him decided to smuggle food from the palace to the hungry. Riliane, noticing a lack of food, ordered her servant to kill the hero. Ney Futapie (Akita Neru), one of the maid of the castle and adopted daughter of Mariam Futapie (Miriam), another of the "Three Heroes", tricked to Allen making him to think that his foster father was going to kill to Riliane. As result of this Leonhart died at the hands of his adopted son. As the hero died, Germaine intended on revenge. From that day on the princess was referred as "The Daughter of Evil".
Visiting the Kingdom of Elphegort, Allen met Michaela (Hatsune Miku) and Clarith (Yowane Haku), two maids for a wife of a wealthy merchant named Keel Freezis (Hiyama Kiyoteru). Clarith, unlike the other citizens of the kingdom, had white hair. She had lived as an outcast because of this, but by "one-thousand-year tree" she had met Michaela, who had befriended her. Michaela was beloved by many, and had a beautiful singing voice; even the King of the Marlon Kingdom (a prince in the basic plot story), Kyle Marlon (Kaito) was in love with her. She had met him through Keel, who was a friend of the king. Allen also fell in love with her. Riliane, however, was in love with Kyle, and sent a formal marriage proposal to Kyle. Kyle, however, responded that he was already in love with another girl. Realizing this, Riliane told her ministers that if they could not find out which girl Kyle was in love, they should destroy the entire the Elphegort Kingdom and kill all of the green-haired women. Keel hid away Michaela in a well and told Allen where she was. Allen kept it secret from the princess, however the princess found it out later. Allen was passed over a message in a glass bottle from her telling him to kill Michaela. After that, Michaela was killed in the well by Ney Phutapie.
Soon after, the rebellion troops and the people of both the Lucifenia Kingdom and the Elphegort Kingdom led by Germaine and a mysterious man with blue hair in a mask named Karchess, who was actually King Kyle in disguise, came to rebel. In response to the rebellion Riliane hired the Gast Venom (Camui Gackpo) and his mercenary group, "The Asmodean Company" but this was futile and the rebels took over the castle. During the revolution Ney managed to get rid of her foster mother while Allen, wanting to protect his sister, offered to switch places with her, allowing her to escape and for him to die in her place. His plan worked, and Riliane was able to escape safely. Before Allen let her escape, he revealed himself as her twin brother.
Riliane went underground during a time and eventually was found unconscious near a cloister by Clarith, who became a nun there recently. Clarith wanted revenge on "The Daughter of Evil", whom she knew had caused the death of her friend. Of course, she was unaware that the girl she found (who knew under the name of "Rin") was actually "The Daughter of Evil" herself, but one day she overheard Riliane's confession in the confession box which revealed to her that she was the princess who ordered the destruction of the Elphegort kingdom. Later, Riliane, filled with regret over the death of her brother, went to the harbor and set a bottled message into the sea. With this, she hoped that it would allow her wish, "If I could be reborn, I would like to be with [him] again", to come true. Clarith, in a blind rage, snuck up on Riliane and tried to stab her with a knife, but decided not to when she was stopped an illusion of a young boy and after see how lonely Riliane was. Clarith eventually forgave Riliane, and apologized to Michaela for not having been able to avenge her. hahaha theory only
