My dream concert is Satriani , Vai , Malmsteen , Petrucci and Morse Jamming together . If this happens in near future it will be fuckin the best rock instrumental concert ever !!!
Morse has no reason to shame for anything. He's in the hall of fame whre the other two aren't. He was choosen for the best guitar player ever in 1983, 1984, 1985.
I fav is the mighty Edward Van Halen, period,he's got and had it all,his looks, iconic customised guitar, moves on stage, guitar riff and rythm out of this world, genius as a songwriter, what else? lol Bring also Michael Schenker with him, they're just another league, period. Hi from France :)
Its fun to see the reaction of the other players while one is soloing. THe point where JP starts to shread Joe points to him and just has an aw faced look. The guys are great in their own right and enjoy each others playing its fun to watch.
"You Really Got Me" -1964. Ok. What is it about? First punk song. First hard rock tune. First distorted guitar sound (deliberate). First power pop example. First garage music that went to N° 1 world wide. And the first use of a power chord riff to drive a song. C'mon... this starts everything! And what about another Kinks' gem: "All Day And All Of The Night"? -1964 (first proto-metal track). It must be said that the Kinks started almost everything... First raga rock (eastern drones) with "See My Friends" -1965, wich featured first use of controlled feedback and gay-suggested liricks. And Ray Davies did sociological poetry before no one. The Kinks created the anglocentrism in pop culture. And then they presented the first conceptual video clip ("Dead End Street" -1966). First thematic LP: 'Face To Face' -1966, first conceptual album ('Village Green Preservation Society' -1968), first rock opera ('Arthur' -1969). They also introduced brit pop, indie rock and vaudeville pop. First ecological anthem with "Apeman", and first gender self-perception himn with the transvestim ode "Lola", both from 1970. Simply.
HEY! UA-cam! NOBODY WATCHES THESE ADS BEFOREHAND! I always take the opportunity to read the comments and tunr off the sound til those 30 seconds have passed. In fact, it's 28 seconds now, so better get to the video ;)
wow...it's really good to see petrucci and morse playing together...Steve morse always been a great influence to Petrucci...once he said that Petrucci finds very hard to play the licks played by Morse..
For me Steve Morse is the most sympathetic guitarists virtuoso, beside Steve Vai, yes Stariani too but not Yngwie - I would like to learn the opinion of the best guitaristst if he only shreds arpeggios pleying fast and schematically or he is really good? Of cours he is from the higher shelf but the highest?
When I listen to the greatest guitarists, I understan that there is someting like the best guitarist!!! (It's nht the port, but even there one year the best is X the next is Y). I think there is only the group of theBEST guitarists, Morse, Vai, Stariani, Al Di Meola etc etc. Each in oter style. For example, Morse is very universal, he can play country very well, jazz too, if Meola can play rock and BLUES it is the question? Formally/technically yes
Anyone talking about them ruining the track with "virtuosity" is missing the point of the G3. They take songs and improvise over and around them. They're not trying to replicate the original... its a guitar show, where the guitar players show off their skills. While the original song is very cool and a great song (and it was pretty innovative in a way), its not that impressive guitar-wise in its original form. Would you say that about the VH version? which I personally prefer over the original.
What are you trying to say with "not that impressive guitar-wise"?... OMG... You must be kiddin'... Don't you know that this track changed the progression of popular music forever!!!???
I love how in every G3, the second Satriani takes out the whammy techniques Petrucci enters in "super speed mode"
hahaaaa , true !
Arcanineisthebest It's actually called killzone mode
Steve is the zenith of rock guitar. That's utterly brilliant.
I love petrucci so much..
LOL, Summer Song in the middle of it, nicely done Petrucci :D

Its fun to see the reaction of the other players while one is soloing. THe point where JP starts to shread Joe points to him and just has an aw faced look. The guys are great in their own right and enjoy each others playing its fun to watch.

Maybe a lot of people on this channel are missing something
yes!
0:37 It's funny to see that Satriani and Morse play this completely with downstrokes, while Petrucci is, as usual, alternate-picking.
Super!
John Petrucci Acomplishing His Dream of Playing with Steve Morse! Wow! Exiting! I want To play with John Petrucci In the Next G3 TOur:):):)

Marek Wilczkowski Why Steve Morse don't play Gibson which is for me like Mercedes among cars, good, fast, perfect etc.? :)
Steve Morse is on his own, Vai, Petrucci, Satriani do not cross all styles like Morse.
Tracy Eaves Petrucci is extremely versatile
joe is the best another two guy is not bad
I think it's summer song by satriani.
divertido pakas
Morse phrasing is diferencial.

That's how men fight.
I know this song is by the Kinks, but they are clearly copying the Van Halen cover of that song
the singer looks my my uncle Seymour
For most of the song, it appears Steve & John are pupils studying licks of Sensei Joe?
