11DNA11 the thing is changing the tuning gives the riff a different voice in a way. Lower tunings fit more with metal in the same way double kick drum beats fit more with metal too. But its all subjective

Vektor is in my opinion the most original Thrash Metal band, only because they are Progressive Thrash Metal, and it´s very cool how they do it, Charging the Void is an spectacular and perfect song lml.
I spent the last 25 years being a thrash metal fan first, but last couple of years I have steered heavily towards prog metal, got bored. Super stoked that you have a band like Vektor bridging the two. If I played well enough to actually play what is in my head, it would definitely be in the "prog thrash" category.

I never thought of listening to more Thrash Metal bands than Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Havok, Exodus, Testament, or Overkill. This video showed me more bands than the others I know. Should definitely check out Evile, thrash metal band from England. Their first major hit was Thrasher and it was featured as Rock Band dlc. Very thrash metal \m/
Alien Weaponry is a pretty sweet band. They use Maori lyrics but the music is quite heavy. 3 young guys from New Zealand, definitely worth checking out imo.
for reals. I have been a fan of thrash since 92 or so, and some of these classic thrash bands I had not heard of or listened to, some of which apparently have sick ass riffs.

Agreed, Dark angel is one of the most influental thrash metal bands ever and also the best in my opinion. Nice video otherwise with metal gods like Annihilator, Exodus and Sodom. Now I have to listen to some Annihilator since it was so long ago, I remember once getting on the bus and the driver( a huge baltic guy) sat head banging to Annihilator haha and when me and another dude joined in he blasted it full volyme all the way home. That's what I think of when I hear Annihilator.
I had no idea there were so many great thrash metal bands. All I've been listening to was mostly Megadeth/Overkill/Annihilator, and just recently got into Exodus/Testament/Flotsam and Jetsam (which is surprisingly missing in this video, btw). Great video, thanks for introducing me to so many interesting bands.

There's a good reason trash metal is my favourite sub genre. It features a good combination of complex riffs, melody and speed when it needs it. I feel like it's a very balanced sub genre, just a bit more interesting than straight heavy metal to me

However I’m a huge Megadeth and Metallica fan so this was slightly biased, I’ll also admit that Megadeth wipes the floor with Metallica NOW but personally I prefer Metallica in the Cliff Era (Kill em all, Ride the lightning, Master of puppets).
