- What a fun song and video!! I was trying to go back and look at suggestions for BAND-MAID and I couldn't find much on anything recent. Suggest more for me if you can! :)
I apologize for the lateness of the video. It's been a hellacious week and as you can see in the video, I'm a hot ass mess and probably need to brush my hair HAHA.
Anyway, enjoy the video and don't forget to suggest more BAND-MAID for me!
I saw the negative comment. He talks about the band being 'fake' and the people who like them being hung up on the visuals, which kind of leads me to suspect that he's the one hung up the visuals, because they don't look how he thinks a band should look. Other than that, people are odd. I've seen fans of bands (yes, even Band-Maid fans) argue about which bands a reactor might also like in suggestions, as if fans of a band will nearly all also like a, b & c, but not like x, y & z. To prove my point, I'll suggest some band that some here will like, and some will hate, that you might like to check out, out of interest, if not necessarily for reactions, as none have the popularity or fanbase of Band-Maid. The are all all-female bands though, four from Japan, and one from Korea.

It's all jealousy.. Band Maid is one of the hardest working bands in the world and very consistent with great music !
Spot on there.. Full on Jealousy. That they could wish they could be this good. The Maids are quite unique and many can't get their head around Japanese women in maid outfits playing this sort of music. Either that or just gaslighting..who knows.. some just like to rattle the cage..and we know what animals do that..

Absolutely a must see. Totally beautiful, I saw this acoustic concert event on Christmas Day and I was struck with emotional 😊 Catharsis would have been on MTV Unplugged 🤘💯%✌️❤️🇺🇲

Haters gotta hate, too bad, so sad! If I don't like a band, I don't listen to them, that doesn't mean that they are a bad group, just not for me. As for Band-Maid, I, for one, am head over heels in love with them! Hard rock brought into the 21 century! Mad Max meets Band-Maid! Amazing ladies and musicians! This is the first song on the latest full album, Unseen World, btw!
Whoever says something bad about Band-Maid clearly has NO IDEA about music... Or is into an other band SO MUCH, that he/she cant watch or hear anything outside their own bubble!
I am an huge maidiac and i hear other bands too and there are bands i dont like, BUT i would never bash them, say they are bad or anything, EVERYONE who is doing art (music is art), needs to have a lot of creativity, passion and has to be a hard worker to accomplish ANYTHING in this business! If you cant acknowledge that you are just a really sad human being IMO
Dont let that negativity draw you in, turn your back and just walk away, it is enough stupidity out there you dont have to take those comment serious, for some folks it is even a job to do it :)

Hear, hear! And can we give an appreciative shout-out to all the Lovebites and Nemophila and Aldious, etc., fans for whom Band-Maid is not their #1 favorite but who can still appreciate them? In fact a shout-out to everyone who's musically mature enough to say, "I don't actually LIKE band X, but I can acknowledge the talent that's there." Those fans make me pay more attention to _their_ favorite bands and understand/appreciate what those groups do, more than I would otherwise - which actually helps me grow as a music-lover.
Absolutely! For some reason some people think of music as a competition, especially among rock and metal, unfortunately (who's never had an unpleasant experience with a metal elitist, right?) which is pretty sad.
I can understand why someone wouldn't like Band Maid, Babymetal or Hanabie or just japanese music in general, but trying to undermine their talent is just willful ignorance.

I read a lot of comments in the j-rock reaction world and, apart from a few imagined rivalries between some small segments of various fandoms, it's a pretty positive space as far as the internet goes. But some people just hate to see people have a good time? Whatever. Silly people.
Band-Maid - Blooming, Freezer, After Life, About Us, Secret My Lips (or Secret Maiko Lips to see a version with traditional Japanese instrument additions) or the new acoustic release from their Christmas show Catharsis! That's about a short a list as I can make :)
They say music is an universal language, then again it's so subjective and personal when it comes to taste. I'm a musician too so I know what it's like when someone speaks ill about your band or your music. Great song and video. I love the symbolism with the two cars (one American, one British) racing to their ultimate demise, only to have BAND-MAID remaining. Maybe that's why the trolls are mad. They know BAND-MAID (and Japanese rock in general) is dominating the scene.
Piece of advice -- Never argue with a fool. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. And any onlookers wont know the difference between you two. In summation, ignore the trolls.

Gerat reaction and Band-Maid always puts a smile on your face. Band-Maid is not yet at the level of main stream, they're still considered a niche band, especially in Japan, but the fans are 100% behind them and trying to get them more exposure to the "main stream". So far I don't believe that they've gotten any U.S. radio play. But channels like yours is helping spread the word on just how important this band is, so thanks very much for continuing to react to them music.
My Soulmate! lol... I hate when people, reactors trash Band Maid, I don't mean "not like" Band Maid, I don't mean "not their style, taste in music" Band Maid I mean trash Band Maid. It doesn't really happen that often but I have embarrassed myself a couple of times with getting into with people like that. Presses that special button within me I wish I didn't have,lol... Your reaction, and your thoughts where timely for me, I came down with covid yesterday, I am sick, in quarantine, but I think I will be ok, but I have a friend, who is in the hospital with covid and I don't think she is going to make it... Band Maid is more than a group of girls in a band making music to get a check, they are good people, doing what they love and it shows they care about their fans. When times are tough Band Maid, their music, and knowing who they are as people, get me personally through some tough times that everyone has to go through at some point or another, thanks for your reaction!

The music of Lovebites is not mine. Ifeel not comfortable with the vocs and the real long guitar solos ( sombody said, it has the right lenght if you are longing for more ). But I would never ever say something bad about them. They are talented ladies and have also a huge fan base, so they cannot be wrong. You can have respect for a band, even you are not a fan.
That's why I don't like comparisons and peoiple who say that one band is better than the other. It's not, on that level they are all top notch. Iit's only a question of your personal taste.

Let's face it ... there are just some haters on UA-cam. Some hate these Japanese women's groups because they're women - only manly men can do this kind of music! Some hate them because they're not from their country. There are people from two countries in particular (who I won't name) who are notorious for putting down musicians who are not from their country. And some people hate them because they're jealous - they can only wish to have even 10% of the talent these women have. As far as I'm concerned, the best three groups out right now are Lovebites, Band Maid, and Nemophila. They are putting all of the "manly men" to shame right now. I could tell these haters that if they don't like a band, don't watch them. But it wouldn't change anything. These creeps are not happy unless they're hating. What a miserable way to live.

The attention to detail in this video is amazing. For interest and something different, they seem to use some sort of emerald or green filter that makes everything black (Akanes drums, the cars) have a green overlay. With the amber background and yellow flames, it looks fantastic!
Thanks for the reaction! I think what upsets some people is that Band-Maid CONSISTENTLY puts out well-crafted, catchy, hook-driven songs, with a blend of influences that defy categorization. They have ballads (Daydreaming, Anemone, endless story), slow burns (Page, At the Drop of a Hat), proggy, jazzy things like Wonderland, Catharsis, and Giovanni. Speaking of Catharsis, they just made that cut from a 12/25 live acoustic set available on their site. If you react to it, you might want to consider listening to the original first (like on Spotify), just so you can what this band is able to do in terms of arrangements.
For me BAND-MAID are the best female rock band nowadays. But one thing you should know: Don't even try to play BAND-MAID songs when you're driving. Especially for this song: Warning (MV), Blooming ("KATE" movies scene), & Choose me ("Peacemaker" movie scene). You know what I mean => "car crash"

There are people out there who are incapable of just saying they don't like the style of music without making a judgment statement like that. I don't like Dolly Parton's voice but I have a ton of respect for her and what she does and has done in the music industry. I have 40+ years as a professional musician, mainly in the classical and world music genres, but I grew up with the music of the 60's and 70's, especially rock. Band-Maid is the real deal. There are other newer bands out there I like but none of them come up to BM's level in my humble opinion.
It's always nice to see people enjoying Band-Maid. You should check out Band-Maiko as well! (Songs "Secret Maiko Lips", "Gion-Cho"). Also Pass Code - "Freely", "Flavor of Blue" and Broken by the Scream - "Ki. Ra. I", "Do. Do. N. Pa!!"
This song gave me vibes of a Closure in Moscow song called "Sweet#hart". Maybe I'm trippin', but it immediately jumped in my head.

Yeah whoever this is, is someone that just likes to hate and have an empty hole in their heart. I'm not even saying that because it's about Band-Maid. I'm sure they say the same about others well just because they like to spread their hate and convince others they are right.
As a 30+ year guitarist i can recognize the skill levev of these. Just hear the songs where bassist are slapping the funk of that bass...

Anyone who says bad about them has zero taste or knowledge of music- or are just lying because a band they like are nowhere near as good lol!
And i'd not call band-maid big on a world wide scale- most people wont have heard of them.. But maybe its that they get quite a lot of coverage in reaction channels? They are clearly an amazingly talented band- there is no denying it- just watch some reactions from the actual musicians out there who do reactions and listen to them gush.. so anyone saying they are bad is just clearly jelous because they are obsessed with some band they know deep down are far worse.

I think I know who are you talking about. The words of this guy have also poisoned my mind. He came to the comments under one of my fancam videos and was saying all the foul things about BAND-MAID. At the same time, he mentioned a lot of other bands, and through him, I discovered a new amazing band, 362. So, it was a blessing in disguise.
But the guy is just a devil, that's for sure. Why is he throwing shit into my pool, I don't get it.

I actually sought some psychological help with that issue, and the advice was, "Why do you even listen to that guy? Just leave him alone!"
I am a bit hesitant to block him, though. He seems to be very knowledgeable, and indeed, if not for him, I would not discover that amazing band I mentioned above, 362. Ideally, I should learn to be resistant to his bullshit, while benefitting from his knowledge. I'll try to do it for some time, let's see if he ruins my life or not 🥴
The live version is great and it has subtitles. Hibana has no film clip but you could dance or something it's probably one of the very latest songs that I like most.
Hibana/Spark and Corallium are amazing! I sometimes just put the Sense single on the loop, and listen to these three songs for hours. And each time I hear new things there!
@@VladimirChupin I quite often struggle with the new songs. I didn't like WARNING and always listened to Manners instead but when the live version of WARNING wad released I listened to it over and over again. I still do. The difference between live and video is minimal but I still don't like the video and I think it's because it doesn't add to the song infact I find it distracting. The live version also has subtitles and the inflections or emphasis makes sense and it's more enjoyable. There have been songs that I didn't think I would ever like but on hearing them after a break just to see a reaction vidio and not expecting to get much out of it it suddenly starts to come together for me .I guess I'm just a bit slow.
@@stephenchigwidden7504 Yeah, the same for me. I liked the MV for Warning!, actually. But I'm pretty sure the negative comments we often hear about "start over" and "The Dragon Cries," are due only to the MVs. I really dislike the MV for "start over," although I fully understand the idea. But it's distracting for me. On the other hand, I like the MV of The Dragon Cries, I almost have tears each time I watch it. Although I do understand the fans who dislike it, because BAND-MAID is beauty incarnate, while this MV is all about ugly things in life.
And I'm also pretty slow. My initial reaction to Hibana and Corallium was like, "I don't know these two songs sound the same for me." But after a dozen listens, I think they are two masterpieces, reinstating once again that BAND-MAID rules the world.

I made the point that the Dragon cries was being rejected because it either was or at least risks being caught up in the woke and anti woke "war" that was raging at the time especially in America but also in a lot of other countries and no sooner had I offered that as an explanation for what is essentially a good song being rejected and people were going crazy at me. I just put it up as a possible explanation I didn't actually take a side myself and really that showed why so many people were uncomfortable with it fearing it would drag BAND-MAID into a fight that they don't even understand from a completely foreign culture. Everyone hated me but their hostility towards me proved my point . I think people felt uneasy about that film clip being attached to a song they were invited to co create by someone who was from and part of the western culture that was at war with itself and I think some of us wondered iff BAND-MAID had been manipulated to be part of something without their full understanding.
I actually applauded the girls for taking a stand when the song was first released but no sooner did I say that and I wondered if they knew what they were getting into especially with the shot of the syringe I thought that was a step too far and a mistake.

I don't know why reactors don't recommend in the video that their viewers subscribe to the channel of the bands they react to.
It would be kind and helpful for bands like this who are struggling to grow and break the western market bubble. Few reactors do this. Cheers!
