I remember being a kid, feeling lost and unsure about who I am. This woman, that I‘ve never met, taught me that it‘s okay to be different. She’s one of the reasons I have a fulfilling life today and I hope that one day I can thank her. To this day her music gives me strength and I hope all the kids listening to her today and watching these performances for the first time will feel the same way.

At the end she shows a middle finger to the military uniform she took off. She even kicks it. I never realized she criticized militarism and patriarchy in this performance. It is also probably related to the trauma she had from that music producer man who raped her when she was 19. Her pain is real.

I have been a music fanatic since the age of 5 and I'm now 45. I grew up in the 80s and was blessed with the sounds of Early Metallica, Ozzy, Motorhead, Megadeath and the whole hair metal Era. When my wife dragged me with her to see Lady Gaga perform on her Born This Way tour I was anything but anxious to go. It just didn't appeal to me. Or so I thought... after watching her perform live, I developed a whole new appreciation for her talent. And to this day I still tell people the story of how I reluctantly went to see her concert and how it turned out to be one of the best concerts I had ever attended. Since then, my respect for her, both as an artist and as a person has grown tremendously. The entire Joanne album never gets old for me. Thanks for keeping it real!

‘Whats up’ by 4 non blondes is my favorite song. This is my first time listening to a cover. Originally didn’t like it with all the added riffs. Second time I listened with my eyes closed. I appreciate how authentic she sang this song. She doesn’t put on a performance. She puts her emotions and soul out for everyone to hear and connect with her. Gaga’s artistry is magnificent. Also, she doesn’t lip sync, ever!

God I love her. It appears that NO song is beyond her amazing ability. She gives it everything she's got and often does it better than the original. She covers the songs she loves and her passion along with her immense talent never cease to take my breath away! It's an emotional experience!

Once upon a time, Gaga wrote a song called 'Fever'. She could sing it, fine, whatever, but she felt like it was suited for someone elses voice. As soon as she became "famous" and Adam Lambert came on the scene, she gave the song to Adam, feeling like it fit his voice better. For those people saying 4 Non Blondes version is better, you have no idea what the intention of the song was. The lyrics clearly say, "I SCREAM FROM THE TOP OF MY LUNGS..." Linda might've wanted it to be belted this way but just didn't have it in her to perform it that way. She praised Gaga for this version, so obviously she liked the intensity and rock-ness Gaga gave it! There is a reason artists do renditions of others' songs, to put their spin on it and deliver it the way *they* interpret it!

You'd be surprised how many 'artists' nowadays cannot sing and perform like this. Yes you can sell multi-platinum albums and have numerous number 1s but only a few really do have this raw talent. Gaga is in the select handful of artists who can actually sing and perform with raw emotion and talent. Ain't no dark horse singer gonna pull something like this off ;)

PS: Yoko broke up the Beatles no matter how the people try to revise history. I lived through it. John pushed her into the Beatle world, but everyone realized she had no, no talent.

Okay, the way she sang this sent chills up my spine. That husk in her voice, the passion with which she sang the song - *CHILLS*.
She is this generations Edith Piaf. I KNOW that is such a hyperbolic cliche thing to say but seriously… no one brings passion or emotion like she does. And I’ve heard her credit Edith for that numerous times. Wether it’s rage, lust, love, pain, fear, sadness… Gaga brings it ALL and leaves nothing behind. One of the absolute greatest. Hands down.
