Good video ! Good tools are an absolute must, I've got 30 plus years as a mechanic and doing restoration work and having the right (quality) tool for the job not only makes for a better outcome but saves you tons of frustration ! 🍻
You are exactly right, you don’t need many tools, but they need to be good quality tools. Very important to be a successful model builder. Thanks for sharing.

All your videos offer such valuable advice, Really appreciate. Let me offer you some valuable advice replace your smoke detector battery that’s chirping in the background. Lol.
The one thing that i use all the time is the small snap off utility blades knives. I have used these for years for doing model's. There nice because you just snap off and keep going. It's always nice to get new idea's that you maybe haven't thought of before. Thanks
Don’t throw away your used ultra fine applicators…you can cut the fuzzy tip off and use the stem of the applicator for burnishing down Bare Metal Foil into panel lines and crevices. You can soften the edges at the top with sandpaper to reduce the risk of tearing the foil.
Thanks for the tips. I have a question. Theres so many types of brushes like camel hair, natural and synthetics. I use testors when it comes to detail hand painting . Which ones are the best for those? Some of the brushes I used tend to leave brush marks or the bristles will pull away. It's very aggravating .
@@colossalbigfoot256 ak and ammo of mig are poopy, at least when used with oils or enamels, all the ones I have used with enamels or oils they've been very Lions manes if you would after use with the enamels and thinners

Looking forward to getting them in the mail. I just started sanding a MPC 69 charger. And as I sand I now see more imperfections in it so is sand and sand. Just put music on and work away.
Don ,great stuff as always. You did not say why you use an exacto blade for general modeling and the scalpel blade for BMF. I will. Do not use the scalpel blade for any type of hard cutting on plastic or resin as they take no side load to break easily. That can be very dangerous. Their more sharpness is great for BMF as you put no side load on them. No hard whittling with the scalpel .
Been thinking bout a set of God Hand cutters cause I’ve bought several good ones that weren’t so good. Are they worth $60? I love those red handled brushes. Bought several “expensive” types but they hold up better than any.
Donn, I found you on UA-cam about 2 years ago and I enjoy your vids and gleaning knowledge from your prior failures, as well as your successes, but I do have a question. I have heard you say, to ad nauseam, cleanliness, cleanliness, cleanliness. My actual question is, after cleaning the body, frame and parts. Do you use gloves (latex or nitrile) when handling the freshly washed, or painted, body, frame etc…etc…etc or would not recommend that?

How do you prevent water slides from turning yellow with age?
Interesting you mainly use c/a to build, rather than solvent glues like Tamiya Extra Thin or equivalent.
This guy looks like Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights, different line of work naturally..

AK makes some nice synthetic brushes. Some people swear by natural but you should try out those AK.

i use a jigsaw with a clamp in it for a paint shaker is that okay to use as a paint shaker thank you mr. yost
