- This is how I made a chess engine in Minecraft using only command blocks, this shouldn't be possible.

From the sounds of things, you only programmed promotion to a queen. There are many cases where it’s an infinitely better idea to “underpromote” to something else, and can even lead to a promotion checkmate. I would suggest you add that function in if you haven’t already.

@SticKinGamma how? I know it might be possible with the pancake stacking but what about mob movements and player move tents but what about giving past self future information and the whole past could affect the future, but idk just a suggestion.

This video was amazing, please I need a part 2, it's actually explained so well, would be cool if you made an actual eval bar and compared it to an actual chess engine to see how accurate it evaluate the games

have you had it play against stockfish
and most importantly did it win
it probably wont because the way stockfish calculates obesity has been tweaked for probably multiple years now so that it can find even better ones.
There is no way this bot is able to beat stockfish. To give an idea of how outclassed it is, this bot looks 1 move ahead. Stockfish typically looks 17-20 moves ahead.
I really love chess and this idea is just wonderful! I can't imagine how you did it, and I also don't know how you would improve the performance of your engine.
We already have the master builder, the pvp champion and the redstone engineers, it's about time we get a command block god.

Would you be able to remake this instead with armour stands wearing neatherite and iron for black and white with armour trims to differentiate pieces..? Just curious if it would be possible and/or easier instead of moving whole blocks? (For the chess pieces themselves and not the actual storage and other functions)

theres a video on sebastian lagues channel of making a chess engine so maybe you could implement some of the things from that because its got lots of things that could boost performance

You didn't check if a piece is pinned to the king in the rules which would thus dilute the amount of moves a piece would be able to make

Why you are using command blocks? You should use a datapack instead
Also, you should generate a void world istead of removing the terrain
16:26 also, you can use /forceload to make it so that these chunks are loaded at all times

Not sure, but can you read the content of chests, because if so the amount of space is insane, you could have kept the same assignments for prices and instead just assigned a number to each spot on a chess board, then corresponded it to a spot in the chest

Ok, first you code a ai 3d printer, then a parkouring old man who is also ai and now a chess ai?!? Whats next, a complete upgraded mob ai wich has cool moves, attacks and stuff based on the players actions and its position. It can also do enhanced moves like normal mobs would not be able to do.

Make a black and white camera and it wull work by using the circular wave front and shooting armor stands and taking their positions and block then using then to generate an image with a proper perspective and depending on the position of blicks paint an actual image ?
