*This massive video took a long time to put together. Hope you enjoy it* 😀 Book of Seraphs Maykr Text Translated ua-cam.com/video/bNQOiHnAGEQ/v-deo.html
Made it to the end of the video. The crucible didn't make it to the end, though who knows meaby now that the Doom Slayer has won his war and all the realms can appreciate the spoils of his victory, it can come into play in a new story. After all, the crucible remains on earth.
Made it to the end of the video. It was a shame we didn't get the lore on the Demonic Crucible. I had theories of my own about it, but this was before the 2 dlcs were around. You interested to hear it anyway?
My questions: Why did the Dark Lord cry out "NOOO!" after the Khan Maykr died? Why did the scientist log on earth say that the Slayer was mostly "human" but altered if he was created by the Dark Lord.
@@vagrant-techart8278 The DLC can be finished in like 4 hours maybe. You can rush through it. But it took me a very long time because I had to stop constantly to put this together. The editing took a very long time. It certainly isn't a simple reaction video. I like to put alot of effort into these types of videos. So the video took longer than finishing the game.
So basically, slayer was a weapon for both sides. For Maykrs to destroy hell so that they could rise, and for Davoth to get his revenge on Maykrs and his son, The Father. But slayer destroyed both because they fucked with the wrong rabbit. True king.
@@kingpiggins292 And as long as evil continues, He will be there, waiting and slumbering, until He's awakened to start his Eternal Crusade against evil once more.
The crucible and the priest can literally be used for plot points for the next game so I think that’s why they didn’t mention it it’s honestly a really good way to build another threat for the next game.
Yea obviously and now considering that Devoth is more important as a figure then we ever tought , i am thinking that the demonic crucible holds alot of power from Devoth as well , considering it will consume its wilder , corupt all realms etc .
I feel we will also kill the father. They would find some way to write how the slayer tracks the father. Since the Father basically gave DoomGuy gave him hell for his life and losing everyone he loves
I know right? Then if you put all the lore texts together from 2016, Eternal, and Part 1, it reveals that Davoth had been running the show the whole time and the Makyrs didn't even know it.
@@ragnarok1945 That is crazy. When he said that, I literally paused the game and sat in silence for a few minutes to ponder the insane depths of Davoth's machinations. He was in control the whole time and the Maykrs had zero clue. That's wild
I mean that the Makyrs would have lied to the Slayer was no surprise. We've known that since Doom 2016 when Hayden was using him, so that he was to be manipulated again was expected. Still, it showed that the Father had greatly underestimated Davoth. Remember, Samur wanted Davoth killed off, but the Father said no. He thought because Davoth was reduced to whispers, he'd have very little influence anywhere, which wasn't the case.
Demons: alright thanks for attending the meeting everyone i'm sure you have some questions now that our Lord Davoth is gone. Sooo new rules no more invading other realms because we die if we leave so those of you who had friends and family in other realms they are dead.....but hey silver lining no more doom slayer
The death of davoth means that connections to and from hell are severed. That doesnt mean that new connections cant be forged and I dont think his death means that demons cannot survive outside of hell. I think things were a one-time deal and if new connections are made then demons could still travel them to worlds and continue feeding the fires of hell. Its left unexplained what will happen to the people of immora, which by all accounts seem like "normal" people who take regular infusions of argent energy to keep from becoming demons themselves as demons are the souls and essences of beings twisted by the fires of hell. So I think this means that once davoth became the dark lord and jekkad became corrupted into hell, the people there naturally started becoming demons, being created by davoth and now twisted by his will and desire for revenge, fuelled by the corruption of the realm as well. They at some point realized the power and ability of argent energy and began to utilize it. Davoth loves his people and wanted them all to be immortal so it's good sense he would start feeding them the argent energy to keep them from becoming demons, to keep his people as "people" to worship him like things had always been in jekkad. Then enter in hell's conquest of other realms and beings and races.. this adds fuel in the form of argent energy and new beings to corrupt for hell's armies. So circling back, now that davoth is gone and his people are left narratively hanging.. I think it would make good sense that they continue to utilize whatever argent energy they have, get the remaining arch demons together and find new ways out of hell to begin the cycle over again of fueling hells armies and creating more argent energy for themselves. At this point the whole of immora is fuelled and sustained by argent energy and it would be desperately sought after once hell was closed off. And it is a potent energy that any race can utilize technically so i feel like between the people of immora and other beings trying to find new energies there would totally be new connections made and then the death of davoth would essentially mean nothing as far as demons plaguing other realms and worlds and etc.. it all might be an extension of davoths will and creations but if they remain existing after his death then it stands to reason that demons and hell will never not be a problem in the doom universe.
Hugo Martin mentioned that this wouldn't be the end as with everything shown in the base game and TAG they can look into new stories in the future, and since doomguy is immortal and a god they can revisit new stories. So it's the of the slayer saga but there is more to come in the future. Plus samur is still out there along with the remaining arch demons. Hell will always have a dark lord and if there isn't one another will take his place. Like when davoth fell 3 dark lords took his place and all demons are basically extension of his will so they will find a way to exact his revenge.
None of that matters if Daisy doesn't get justice and the Doom Slayer doesn't get the closure, peace, and happiness he rightly deserves. *I mean, I hope I'm not the only one fucking pissed that they weren't reunited.*
"Yet even as the doom slayer revels in the spoils of war (meaning hes finally defeated hell and gets to rest) another shall rise from the fires (samur maykr) a dark priest consumed by the crucible, and even the doom slayer shall weep in his shadow. I think this means that after we defeated samur in ancient gods 1 he retreated and retrieved the demonic crucible, becoming a new threat to all of life and a reason for the slayer to awaken again
Hugo said that the Maykrs become "Cthulhu-like monsters" after transfiguration, the main bad guys in Quake 1 are eldritch Lovecraftian horrors, Cthulhu is an eldtritch Lovecraftian horror. I hope they were setting up a Quake reboot with that...
@@antondavidovic3996 Cthulu-like monsters huh? So, perhaps like the wraiths that came out of the World Spear? I did wonder why there were Makyr spirits inside the "ship" that crashed into Argent D'nur.
And because his power originated from Davoth maybe the Slayer has lost his power or some of it at least, and that would explain the last part of the prophecy
@@TheOrcKatari i know i'm jumping franchises but the Slayer was a weapon and that purpose has been fufulled like in DMC5 "The Devil Sword Sparda no longer serves a purpose" the Slayer no longer has a purpose, let him rest. but there are many worlds and a Slayer could show up again on a different world, a Slayer not bound to Davoth
Valen: "Come, brothers! Let Hell tremble before our might!" (Activate and raises Argent Hammer) "For The Emperor!" Night Sentinels: "FOR THE EMPEROR!!!"
I feel sorry for the Doom Slayer. He was essentially manipulated by both the Dark Lord and the Makyrs as a weapon to be used against each other. But in the end, both sides were utterly destroyed by the Slayer's own hands. An ironic and just ending.
@@IlNamelessKinglI Nothing has stated the wraiths have any connection the maykrs or even davoth. I believe that the Wraithes came from outside worlds we have seen.
If the dark lord created everything, then the wraiths could literally just be a naturally occurring race that became so technologically powerful naturally. There could be any number of races that have no clue about hell or the maykers and have been doing their own thing all this time, humanity for example. Theres no reason to think they also couldn't become very powerful with time such as the wraiths seeing as how the drak lord and maykers were a little preoccupied by each other to fuss over every race that was made
I think killing Davoth killed the power within the Slayer that made him a godlike entity. That said, I don't think the Slayer himself is dead. He stood against Hell with restless fury for unknown periods of time with nothing more than his rage long before he ever found his way to Argent D'Nur and was altered by the Divinity Machine. It stands to reason that, having finally succeeded in his task, and saved all of creation from Hell and Davoth, the Slayer had finally achieved his purpose. He can finally rest, a reward earned with a victory like no other. I hope that the next game Id tackles will be a reboot of Quake, and that they take steps to bind that continuity with the Doom universe, for while it is true that the Slayer fought a hard-won battle against the First Realm, Hell, the Father came from places outside of known creation. Eldritch unrealities unlike anything we can conceive of, impossible dimensions that even Hell would tremble to behold, home to vast and alien entities that to look upon would drive mortals mad. And the Ranger could be out there, battling in the fractured sub-dimensions that encircle the Ordered Realms just as broken worlds orbit the stars that once lit them. In that darkness, new horrors await.
I think this is what happens too. And it make sense from a design stand point. It’s like Id software is trying to return Doom slayer back into the Doom guy, so that with the next developer to take on the reins of making a doom game, they have more creative freedom on what kind of game they want to make. Like if they want to make a horror doom game like doom 3, they’re gonna need the classic doom guy in his human form, not the ultra powerful doom slayer. But also if they want to continue the doom slayer arc, it would be easy to come up with an excuse for him to be powerful still.
Hugo said that he is not really dead, he is just sleeping and the power in him is still alive, which means that in a way, Davoth and hell are connected to him and lives with him. So if hell is opened once again he will wake once again and Davoth as well.
@@janis0zo They not sided with him, he said He ascended, so basically they followed the big chief, that at that moment was Vega because Davoth was left without his body/power, I've seen a comment that maybe The Father took out the power of creating life from Davoth. It is not clear I guess, or maybe Vega lied to them that he is The Father, and they are from him, the origin story of the maykrs that we know from part 1. Still there is a quote in codex that says clearly that Davoth made them and is before the ending.
@@ScarlettSpitfyre Um- I said Maykrs, not Makers. Davoth constructed the Father + Maykrs, and when they betrayed Davoth, the Maykrs sided with the Father 👀 That’s why I said “the Father and his Maykrs”
Made it to the end. However, it felt like cliffhanger ending to me. My take on this is 1) I don't think that he has passed away. All I saw was him drop to his knees and apparently pass out. You never see him being put in the box and you only see the lid close. I don't see why you would put a seal on the box and put it somewhere where you can't reach it. If he's passed away 2) Hell is still there waiting for the next Dark Lord. Only the demons on the outside of Hell were killed. 3) The Dark Priest hasn't showed up. If he's passed away then what does this part mean. EVEN THE SLAYER WILL WEEP IN HIS SHADOW. 4) Hugo Martin said that there are more stories with the Slayer to tell.
the thing is... will the slayer or someone else broke the seal to free him for another battle against evil? the trial could be more easy now that there's no demon that can get in the way, intern guy can search for him eventually or something like that
@@Blacksnowfanfics well, it doesnt specifically state that he weeps tears of anguish or joy, for all we know, sleeping in a box is sort of a bore and he was dying to get out and blast some demons in the face, and be truly happy killing, maiming , ripping and tearing for all eternity
Where is Samur Maykr? He is alive, though his whereabouts remain unknown. The last we saw of him was when the Father saved Samur from within the sacred chamber during his confrontation with the Doom Slayer.
My guess is that The Serephim died from his wounds. He did get nearly shot to death. Kinda like RoboCop. And everyone knows that guy can eat more bullets than 50 Cent.
You see him at the end of the game. Remember there are 3 hell priests, and we only see 2 Maykr priests in part 1, this is after we defeat Sam who we see wearing the same cloth as these priests. Now count how many of them you see when you are sealed at the end of part 2.
That twist actually hurt me a little. I really liked VEGA being the Father, and the Good vs Evil concept. But nope! We literally were taken for a ride. Edit: Okay guys, thanks for the recaps, but Team VEGA all day. That’s how it is fam.
@@aseraphim9813 why? I think the twist was the best part, it showed something that exists in our daily lives, were we think we are the good guys but in reality everyone is bad...
''The father stole a piece of the dark lord and went into hiding, that piece remained sealed within the coffins of urdak........'' In the game davoth tells the Doom slayer that his creations stole his 'Power and name'' .... so that was later on pass on into the Doom slayer and that why he could kill him ...
Because there is a prophecy that is yet to be fulfilled, if you know about the demonic tree prophecy then obviously events have yet to happen, Samur will likely take a new form and identity as the dark priest and sister shall kill brother. Basically its just the beginning, Doomguy's war hasn't ended it only gotten much bigger then he could foreseen since the dark lord made that revelation clear that the "father" had lied to the slayer and everything that had happened was because of him. So Doomguy's war is now with urdak since hell is now sealed until another dark lord shall rise and lead hell's armies
@@BanishedSilentShadow3318 Plus don't forget Hell's generals as well because we only saw concept arts for them. Perhaps they will show them as well in the next game. Also, the demonic crucible, who the Wretch is, and what really happened between Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal as well as how he got his castle ship.
@@SilverPhantomX ofc the father did say Davoth isn't a king but a warrior though if what the father says is true or not its possible that there'll be other dark lords who'll rise
I think that the Father had taken the power of creation from Davoth as he sealed him away. Creating other realms and primevals to combat Davoth. But when he broke out and started corrupting other realms, the Father and Samur went and ripped out his soul sphere. Which would explain why the Father is so powerful, why Davoth needed that mech suit and how the Father could defeat him.
@@nharlow_4303 everything belongs to him, even the golden sphere, and he is still weak as everything was taken from him, even his connections to everything he built and explains why in the entire universe and multiverse did not die is because of the Maykr's tampering with the life he created and taking it for there own, making them unrecognizable and independent of Davoth himself, and having another part of his power given to Doomguy and that said creation surpassing him and his own extension, hell itself, he was already set to lose when he was given his form but he is not coward, he is a warrior and he will fight.
Made it to the end. Personally, I was hoping we’d learn what happened to Samur. Also, my only complaint with the DLC is that the boss fight with the dark lord felt overhyped. He was nothing more than an oversized marauder. Plus, I have a feeling this won’t be the end of the Slayer’s story with all of the unanswered questions still lingering. I will admit, I didn’t expect him to be some tool of revenge created through ludicrous means. Do you think that the dark lord saw who he was and what he was capable of, and that he was the reason the doomguy got pulled out of hell and ended up in Argent D’nur after Doom 64?
@@AcidGlow oh it was? Huh. I wasn’t actually aware of that. I guess once he showed up in the realm then the dark lord saw his chance and took it, maybe. I mean, since he is technically the “God” of the Doom universe, I’d imagine he’d be able to observe such things haha.
Since the original dark lord disappeared, a lot of demons tried to take his place. They were called dark lord of such and such age. Like " dark lord of the 4th age"
The Dark Lord is underpowered, he was stripped of his powers, powers that the maykrs used to not only rewrite history but everything the dark lord created outside of his realm jekkad, the golden sphere is one example of his shards, doomguy has the other one and he just emerged, with little time to spare while Doomguy has been fighting for a long time and has already matched hell, his other extension so yeah it was a mismatch from the beginning, he can only do with what he has but it was already set, he is going to lose.
Made it to the end, even though I read all of that myself in the game, but huge props for translating the maykr texts. I loved the twist. Turns out, Hell is awful because all they seek is conquest and death, while Heaven (the maykr realm) are hypocritical liars and true betrayers. In the end, the only true thing is you, the Slayer, and you bring ALL of them down.
Hugo Martin and Adam Gascoine might have took some notes from J.R.R. Tolkien's book of proper story writing because my golly How they managed to tie in the stories of all Doom games and make it entertaining and cohesive while remaining badass is just, a whole nother level. Only Miyazaki could ever be the step above that. Just wow ...
I mean, Story that simply is about good vs. evil like those Hollywood movies, is not bad, but this, this has just ascended it to another level. As the truth was revealed, essentially there is no good nor evil. To the Father and Maykrs, they were doing the right thing sealing away a threat for all creation. But to Davoth, he was also doing what he think is good for the creation bc he doesn't want to be the only immortal being and watch his children perish. And so the Slayer's saga was not a war of Justice either. In the end even when Davoth was in fact the victim of betrayal by the userper Father, and the Slayer was led to this path basically because of a lie, he still has no choice but to end Davoth since the original creator is now twisted by hatred towards those who wronged him and only want destruction for all creation. I also think Davoth willingly gave up the fight (he threw the sword away) and let the Slayer end his suffering, because he still has a good in him that wishes the best for his creation. This DLC2 really had a depressing theme.
@@brunellehalloween5383 In the cutscene where the Father told slayer about the truth, he turned to the Father's voice and cocked the shotgun as he listened. It could be intepreted as he was pissed off by the knowledge that he was lied upon all the time. I do feel that Slayer stll has conscience for his deed, he cares about whether he was doing the right thing.
I like the small details in the middle cutscene of the fight with Davoth. When Davoth was picking up his sword, the Slayer turned his back on Davoth as if saying he was not going to attack him at the moment, and he himself know the Dark Lord wasn't gonna sneak attack from his back as well. I say they were truly great, decent warriors, and through the previous fight they came to understand and respect each other.
@@getdatpeppah6083 But I could fully understand why his good intention could lead to disasters. Imagine the Titans and monsters that were his "children" were made immortal, It'll be an eternity of suffering for all other creations. But still. It really saddens to see him accepting his fate and dies in the hand of his creation.
Unpopular opinion: The whole twist of Davoth being the first god and basically humans worshipping the sign of Slayer (which is also the sign of Satan/First God) seems very weird
I wonder if they had that story fully written out from Doom Eternal then into the AGP1. Or if they just decided to come up with it for AGP2. There's a few things that connect still. Which I might save for a future video. As this one is just covering the available lore.
which makes it really stupid honestly. They turned a cool brutal game into some religious mmorpg with guns and mario platforming. This is just... Ugh...
@@ВалерийТребухов I mean the brutal part didn't leave. The story has always been weird. Guns and religion are pretty much the foundation of the game. I don't know where you got mmorpg from? But I'll give you the platforming.

It’s cause they were making up the story as they went. It only makes sense in doom eternal cause they actually wanted to make a story. Doom 2016 wanted to keep it old school and not give a shit about story and just focused on gameplay. Doom 2016 had codex of story if anyone was interested but it wasn’t important, now it contradicts a lot of things in doom eternal. Samuel Hayden was just a scientist that was dying, and was just discovering argent energy. Then doom eternal comes up and Samuel knows the whole freaking history and was a seraphim the whole time. I think doom eternal is a much better game than 2016, but I can definitely see they were just now trying out the story.
Samur will take the crucible from the fortress of doom, using it to reconstruct and power the divinity machine so that he may use it to reform his body back into the maykr form. This will then accidentally turn him into some being of infinate power, the Dark Priest, and with his selfishness he will try and rule the universe where the other seraphs will revive the slayer from his tomb and send his slaying vengeance over to Samur.
While I don't think the story needed a twist, I think it covered an unexplained conundrum.. if Davoth sought immortality for the people of Jakkad, why is Hell not his willing and doing all along? And so here we have an answer, the secret to immortality was not to be shared with Davoth because it would require the creation and destruction of life, the suffering of Jekkad, the essences of hell and the suffering of souls, and above all it was the desire of the Maykrs to benefit foremost of the discovery of argent energy and not leave it to Davoth to bless the people of Jekkad. The Ancient Gods sought to be worshiped by peoples of earth, argentia, and all realms with the promise of immortality in Urdak under a faustian bargain of blood doubtful Davoth would have accepted for his love of his creations.
@@omaralzubbi2051 why did he create the slayer with hate? clearly he didn't value his creations as powerless things but instead empowered them to create and destroy themselves.
I highly doubt it’s over because isn’t Samuels corrupted form still a threat, also was anyone else expecting a Conan the barbarian style ending where he becomes king of the knight sentinels or was it just me?
Made it to the end. I actually like when retcons are handled like this, where the history you were told was a lie. I feel like this is a good end to the Doom Slayers story but there are still plenty of loose threads, maybe that Female Doom Slayer they tweeted about a few weeks ago will handle the Demonic Crucible and The Seraphim.
Made it to the End, may they come up with a better ending next time. While I was never expecting anything special, the story ended up... I don't know, not disappointing but underwhelming. It feels that they kind of wrapped this up to get to other projects. Fighting Davoth in a mech suit was... underwhelming, Elite Hell class be another advanced race.... underwhelming. Strogg cybernization and brutality really turned out to be a more frightening enemy. They did advertise demon lords of hell to be those grotesque monstrosities. Where are they? The deepest depth of hell was also felt like a mediocre alien planet. Well, it was fun though. Farewell, Slayer and Doom, for now.
All this Sentinel/Father/Davoth mumbo jumbo has overstayed it's welcome. The next game needs to be centered solely in the different levels of Hell. Just Doomguy killing demons without all the superfluous, Saturday morning cartoon story tellling.
@@billyboy8534 My hope is that they revert to the sort of storytelling we saw in Doom 2016. It was fairly simple, and was told through the environment as you listened to Samuel Hayden amongst others. Reminded me a lot of Half Life 1. In Doom Eternal, especially in the DLC, they tried to do way too much with the story and didn't tell it in a very compelling way.
Kinda miss the more grounded and subtle story from 2016. An evil corporation opened up a portal to hell. You are the Doomslayer, and must stop the invasion. He was once apart of the night sentinals long ago. Samuel Hayden was a cyborg scientist that helps you to stop the demonic invasion. Vega was just a super advanced AI. Olivia pierce was the antagonist. Vega didn't go on Maury and find out he was the father. There wasn't like 15 different ancient god like beings. It's at times hard to figure out who is who and what kind position of power they are in. The dark lord is actually the creator of the universe but somehow is able to be killed quite easily. Why does the god of the universe need to create helpers if he should have the power to do anything? I think simplicity is key in stories like these.
Maybe Doom Slayer will be awaken again thousands years later in a different universe or something. Multi-verse is already being confirmed, so the possibilities are endless.

Just not sure if this means his will be resting forever without being able to wake up since Davoth is gone. Or if he is just weakened from losing his power and he will wake up again but just as regular Doom Guy. 🤓
So what I’m gathering from all this is, Doom Eternal took a lot of inspiration from different sources: Stargate, Metroid, Warhammer, Elder Scrolls and a little bit from The Dark Tower
Here are few things I’m still confused about the lore that are not related to obvious sequel topics. 1. Why did the dark lord scream “nooo” when the Khan Makyr died? 2. Why did the father split into VEGA and a life sphere? 3. If the Maykrs were the one who sealed the Dark Lord and Hell, how come the Khan Makyr did not know about Hell and demonic energy until the Slayer told her about it? 4. Why would Hell partner with the Maykrs if they were the ones who betrayed them in the first place?
1. Because the deal was cut off so there would be a drop in the amount of souls sent to Immora for his people. 2. So that he could watch over humanity and have a way to brought back to his true form 3.(I don’t really know this one) Because she didn’t know about argent energy 4. So that Davoth could corrupt that maykrs and make them fall into havoc.
Thanks for the reply bro it really helped clear things up! It’s all makes way more more sense now. I got to admit all the plot twists and reversals threw me for a loop but I definitely enjoy and appreciate the complexity of the Dark Lords plan for revenge. It feels very “human” and relatable.
I think you missed a key bit about the ending, when god as DS if he had anything to say. DS shoved his blade into him BEFORE replying no. It seems minor but its kinda important in the fact that no the DS had nothing to say and only replied afterwards.
Something I would like to state. The prophecy said that the Slayer will revel in the spoils of his war. This dlc is the end of his war, so this is the second part of the prophecy, Meaning the next doom game will be about the final section of it.
I see some parallels about the origins of Davoth and the Father with Apophis and Ra from Egyptian mythology. Some parts of those beliefs mention that instead of simply being entropic evil incarnate Apophis is actually the ancient first father of creation (or god of light), a title associated with Ra (Amon) who seemingly would have usurped his predecessor's position. That event would have made Apophis to become utterly mad and to become the all-devouring serpent he is described as. On the other hand, that betrayal might very well have been legitimate for you would only go insane-murderous against such insurrection if you already saw your creations as mere moulds of clay to be reshaped and unmade at your whims, instead of seeing them as their own persons (like a parent to their children). Though, contrarily to Doom's lore, Apophis' madness made him unrelenting, but also a mindless chump compared to Ra who would simply go on to kick his ass every single night for eternity (or turn into a cat and chomp his head off every night). The Father shows some seriously admirable fatherly traits, but also innocent-flawed decision making skills. While the Dark Lord is not only an utter badass of his own, but also honourable and very able and keen to punish others hubris (through his genuinely incredible mastermind abilities). Who knows if the Maykrs were right or wrong to deny him the secrets of immortality?
Tbh idk how I feel about the twist that Devoth was the true God. I don't think I enjoyed that twist at all. I honestly liked that the Father, as the literal God, was your homie throughout the series and this twist was really unnecessary to me. No reason for that change when the Dark Lord already had an established reason to want revenge on the Father in the first place. Also Davoths motivation doesn't really make sense now. He's getting revenge for being betrayed...but for what exactly? That he had his power taken away? Or that the Father wouldn't tell him the key to immortality for the people of Jekkad? If Davoth was the one who plotted the "creation" of the Doom Slayer, and he's his secret weapon to destroy Urdak, why is it that he tried to get him killed all this time? Why does he scream "NOOO" when he kills the Khan Maykr? Isn't that what he wanted? And going back to the revenge part, if it was the latter reason about giving his people immortality, why would he need help giving immortality to his people if he's literally GOD? Wouldn't he just be able to snap his fingers and boom, everyone is immortal now? Plus for the future, how can you possibly get higher stakes, unless they go the Gnostic route and it turns out Devoth was a Demiurge and there are higher dimensions than even Hell and Urdak. My only honest guess of where they go next is they will address the World Spear being a Wraith ship of some kind, and it turns out the Wraiths are actually entities from that "higher" realm or something. I don't know man, I liked it all up to that last big twist. It just didn't sit well with me at all and it really throws the otherwise very well established lore into a jumbled spiral of confusion. My head hurts. Honestly I just hope they like... just retcon out that whole twist in an update as something less continuity shattering, new voiceovers different scene or something. I want like idk, have Davoth shouting out to Father in hatred and frustration, and Father just telling his "son" that he's sorry he failed him as a parent or some nice surprisingly heavy character moment. A short moment not between warring cosmic gods but just a hurt broken son and guilty apologetic father. Then Davoth cuts off the Father, his apologies will never be enough, screaming the Slayer on to fight him. They've made it this far, it's time to finish what they both came here for. Replace the entire "Davoth is the real God" with this BOOM I just saved Doom Eternal TAG2
This, so much this! I was adoring the dlc up until that dumb twist! It's funny because apparently the story is the least important part of Doom and yet it's one of the most talked about topics, so most of us are passionate about it. I was downright angry at that part of the story to the point I couldn't enjoy the rest of the game. It brought so many plot holes and unnecessary nonsense that what the first dlc accomplished (tying every game in the franchise nicely), the twist just ruined it.
I didn’t enjoy that twist either. They had so much beautiful lore, and such good build up only to yeet it out the window. I also prefer that ending as well.
So bascially he wants revange because the servant race betrayed him - while he was locked away he was consumed by hatred and rage which transformed Jekkad to hell and it's denizens.
@@VindensSaga On the surface, yes. Looking closer, you have this omnipotent god who created everything, struggling to figure out how to make an immortal race, so he creates an immortal race so they can figure out how to make an immortal race. They betray him because they think he will go evil because reasons and lock him away and his first creation from all dimensions. In anger, he plots revenge by creating Doomguy to help him destroy Urdak, but still tried to kill him several times since the first game because yes. Ultimately, the thing he knew would come to kill him would end up killing him. So this guy played chess against himself and lost on both sides...
Dark Lord Davoth is the First Being made by the Creator God. And No. Davoth been the First Being in no way states he is the Creator God. Davoth did however created Urdak (Techno Heaven) along with the Makyrs. And from part of it he made Jekkad (future Hell) and its denizens. In fact, VEGA acknowledge Davoth as HIS creator. VEGA became the next Father of Urdak when the Davoths creation, the Makyrs, turned on him. If you are still hard on insisting DL been God, then remember his statement that should HE perish in physical world, all HIS creations will cease to exist outside of Hell. The epilogue proves this as all Hell denizens outside of Jekkad disintergrated. And the Terrans survived means they are not made by DL. If DL is really CG, then everything would cease to exist if he dies. Edit: spelling
@@Interloper322 The lore only goes so far as mentioning the Origins of the Father entity, Makyrs, Urdak and Jekkad are made by Davoth himself. The mysterious Ultimate (Doom) Creator of the races on Argent De'Nur and Terra (Earth) have yet to be mentioned by name. I think Bethesda deliberately choose to let this Deity be anonymous because they drew inspiration the Bible where Almighty God's name cannot be pronounced in any practical way. I think the Ultimate God and Doom Lord have way more mystery than Davoth' himself. In theory.
There is one scene that still doesn't make sense to me. In base game, when you kill Khan Maykr, Dark Lord says "Noooooo!". But judging by the story, he should have said " yessss!". Dark Lord's entire plan was to create a threat that will destroy those who betrayed him and let him free.

Made it to the end!! This video made it so much easier to understand exactly what was going on. Trying to keep up with the lore while shredding thru demons gives me a headache from hell (no pun intended)
So a couple things that i still dont entirely unterstand.. Davoth was the creator of all, then who was the father? Did the father use to be a servant of Davoth, a Maykr perhaps? Did they just switch places? Davoth created the father, then got betrayed by him and was sealed in Immora? Then, the father went on to create all other worlds? Who was he to be so powerful? Then, the "father" created the Maykr to watch over his creations. Samur Maykr stole the fathers essence, became Hayden on earth and turned the fathers essence into VEGA.. The spear: it brought the wraiths to Argent D'nur, who then brought life to the planet aka "created" the people of Argent D'nur... wasnt it originally said that the people of Argent D'nur were created by the father? Are the wraiths also a creation of the father, maybe even older? Are they disconnected from the rest of the lore? Who are the seraph? I know the Maykr are a race, and the Seraphim is a Maykr as well, later becoming Samuel Hayden in a cyborg body. But then, who are the other Seraph? Are they a group of Maykr who turned against the Khan Maykr/Father? I wish they made books about the DOOM Universe with more info.. and hopefully more games that explore the remaining questions..
It was Davoth who created the Maykrs, not the Father. Dakoth created the Maykrs for the sole purpose of trying to discover the secret of immortality for the people of Jekkad. That's why the Maykrs are so smart, Davoth created them that way. The Maykrs eventually found the secret to immortality. Though they kept the discovery a secret from Davoth since they didn't trust him (the Father might have influenced them into thinking this way). They thought Davoth's obsession with immortality would be a threat to all life, and wanted to end his corruption; Davoth would do ANYTHING to give Jekkadians immortality. The Maykrs sealed Davoth and Jekkad off from the other realms while the Father stole Davoth's power of creation (how was the Father able to pull this off, we don't know). The Father, with his new acquired powers, created humanity and other realms like Argent D'Nur. The Father and the Maykrs kept the discovery of "immortality" an absolute secret to prevent other realms from falling into corruption like Davoth. But Davoth's spirit knew what the Makyrs had done, and thus orchestrated his revenge.

This video feels like a video game museum. So Maykrs are the real enemy so Doom slayer must be revived by Sentinels with the help of the intern's knowledge about Doomslayer's whereabouts. As a result of Dark lord's death, doomslayer will now be powerless but in time he would need to undergo into the divinity machine again with what is left with Dark Lord's essence to fight the Maykrs since they could use the soul extractor to create demons now that Dark lord is dead?

To be honest, this DLC was bit of a let down. I hoped we'll see the Crucible and Hayden again, but all we got was everyone saying: "If you kill demon lord, all demons outside of his domain will die" I like how they flipped the story to reveal Davoth being the first God and I loved the Spear, though I wish there was more in it, the design is very cool. My questions:
Why did the Dark Lord cry out "NOOO!" after the Khan Maykr died?
Why did the scientist log on earth say that the Slayer was mostly "human" but altered if he was created by the Dark Lord.
@@vagrant-techart8278 The DLC can be finished in like 4 hours maybe. You can rush through it. But it took me a very long time because I had to stop constantly to put this together.
Davoth kinda won in a way, he got his revenge, and by his death, his people will not be harrassed ever again by a guy in a green suit.

Theres no reason to think they also couldn't become very powerful with time such as the wraiths seeing as how the drak lord and maykers were a little preoccupied by each other to fuss over every race that was made
@@domino6918 yeh, pretty possible
True! If I remember correctly the Intern said the energy levels in the spear were greater than that of Urdak, which I thought was interesting

I think you're forgetting that Davoth got his soul sphere back when Doomguy resurrected him.
@@nharlow_4303 Is it explained why Davoth needs the mech suit AFTER getting his soul/body back?
@@Xyos212 probably because the sphere took the form of the one that resurrects the individual, or it's been awhile since he even had one.

Well it's the Sister Mother Demon who sent him away from Doom 64. According to the devs.

Tolkien's book of proper story writing because my golly

Made it to the end. You really covered everything. Haven't seen such detailed lore in many games. I hope they'll continue the series in some way.
Thank you 🙂 Only the Slayer's Saga is over. There is room for them to expand on the Doom Universe.
I don't think the slayer really cares about who's who anymore, all he wanted was to destroy hell and he basically did it
@@brunellehalloween5383 In the cutscene where the Father told slayer about the truth, he turned to the Father's voice and cocked the shotgun as he listened.
I say they were truly great, decent warriors, and through the previous fight they came to understand and respect each other.
ikr, it's so sad. Davoth only wanted the best for his people, but it didn't work out.

Man I subscribed to this channel back in 2017 and with videos like this I am so grateful for the day I clicked that sub button
Finally. Vengeance for Daisy. But it is not complete as the denizens of hell are yet to be exterminated.
Why did Davoth create the Maykrs with greed? Weren't they supposed to be his creations to help him solve immortality?
@@omaralzubbi2051 why did he create the slayer with hate? clearly he didn't value his creations as powerless things but instead empowered them to create and destroy themselves.

Disagree we never went to the deepest parts of hell we just went to the most ancient part of it and lore wise it make sense why it’s super advanced
I dont think opening a portal to hell would ever qualify as grounded and subtle.

3. If the Maykrs were the one who sealed the Dark Lord and Hell, how come the Khan Makyr did not know about Hell and demonic energy until the Slayer told her about it?
4. Why would Hell partner with the Maykrs if they were the ones who betrayed them in the first place?

2. So that he could watch over humanity and have a way to brought back to his true form

@@Shendowa Same. This DLC was amazing, and A LOT to process
I like how Doom-Slayer is pretty much a walking WMD at this point, he was pretty much a miniature Davoth if you think about it.

Replace the entire "Davoth is the real God" with this
BOOM I just saved Doom Eternal TAG2

They rushed it.
@@Xx_HD_xX Yeah... I'm getting the feeling they might be making this up as they go...
Still came out better than the new Star Wars trilogy.
I've been waiting for a lore video about part 2 ty very much from Dallas Texas
Hope you enjoy it. I wanted to make this a very long video covering just about everything. 😲
Doomguy is just taking a long nap since he was in the blood swamps when he passed out so that’s why he is still alive
Am I the only one who thinks that ID is going to wish that they never made this one? Personally, I feel like it was a little bit rushed. It was like that it was made to fit a deadline.
Nah. I feel like this too.
I've already gone through the game and most of the lore but if I'm honest I was looking forward to seeing you cover it as it's really enjoyable listening to these lore videos while gaming so cheers for upload
So I had not long started the video when I made my last comment but I didn't know that the hammer recharged with destroying weak points I thought it was just glory kills and the hammer pick up so that's cool learnt something new lol
Maybe its the DarkLord's Souless Body in the Stone Coffin on top of that cliff, and the DoomSlayer's body was taken by the Ancient gods to another location? I'm not sure. Just that i think its the DarkLord's Body in the StoneCoffin. It would make sense @AcidGlow
Made it to the end!!
This video made it so much easier to understand exactly what was going on. Trying to keep up with the lore while shredding thru demons gives me a headache from hell (no pun intended)
I made it to the end
The heartbeat at the end of ancient gods 2 was good
18:50 the text was flipped solely so that it can say Doog in respects to the removed Doog Eternal easter egg
That was an awesome break down bro! Loved that there is actual scriptures in those texts that was an awesome detail. Definitely gonna check out those vids on ALL the translations.😎 great work👍 made it to the end and subscribed🤗
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Made it to the end, and thanks for reading the papers I couldn’t bother to read.
I’m just glad for this video existing because I ran both parts back to back on ultra nightmare this video just allows me and others to see the lore with out playing again
I think "Aten me" is just "Attend me"?
(It is a simply badass line to summon your army btw)
Made it to the end! Thanks for all your hard work putting this together!
Doom is a Christian game
“Doom slayer kills god”
So much for being a Christian game
You do realize that this god was malevolent and a liar right?
@@aseraphim9813 The dark lord is everything but a liar is not.
@@vaultboy3706 Yeah. Sure.
Have you read the first testament of the Bible? God is kinda responsible for a lot of wrong
@@aseraphim9813 He's not wrong.
Made it to the end. Haven't played Doom Eternal yet, but really dig its campaigns.
I like to put alot of editing and effort into stuff like this. I like documentary videos so yeah. 😁
made it to the end and honestly i dunno how to feel about it, it for sure have a really strong story.
oh boy the first time i saw urdak... the feeling was great, and creepy.
I'm 99% sure that this isn't the end of Doom series. We still do not know who are the wraiths and what is a demonic crucible
Thanks for the video, Carlos
I was hoping for this to come, Ancient Gods part 2 was amazing
Edit: I made it to the end.
Made it to the end. this is best lore I’ve seen so far
Made it to the end and boy the revelation was so good Tzeentch the God of Magic and Deceit might have an erection of deception because the lore.
There are 3 more dark lords. We killed Khorn. I think you know others names:)
@@vitaliykim8177 I'm assuming Typhus, Ahriman, and Lucius...
Or Abaddon, Huron Blackheart and Fabius Bile.
@@blacktemplarchaplainmarius42 They're only champions of Chaos, not its gods. Khorne is the god of blood and slaughter. Tzeentch, like you said, is trickery and deception. Nurgle is plague and pestilence and Slaanesh is excess.
To be honest, this DLC was bit of a let down. I hoped we'll see the Crucible and Hayden again, but all we got was everyone saying: "If you kill demon lord, all demons outside of his domain will die"
I like how they flipped the story to reveal Davoth being the first God and I loved the Spear, though I wish there was more in it, the design is very cool. The ending too was bit underwhelming, thought there would be more resolution to the story.
