  • Henry Keen the interview with Dr. Frank Ledwidge, Senior lecturer at the Royal Air Force College and a former military intelligence officer. What to expect on the battlefield after Ukraine receives the F16? How to prosecute those guilty of war crimes, including torture? What to expect in the near future in the Russian-Ukrainian war? Dr. Frank Ledwidge answered these and other questions

Looks as though the permission and preparation to use F-16s should have started sooner. But we know now that Joe lacked the basic mental powers and relied on a group of scared and ignorant political wanna bes, unprepared to think militarily.

Very good Frank; on all of it. Some of us can remember the Eichmann trial, even if we were quite young at the time. And I can remember a poignant interview with one of the witnesses who broke down on the stand. When asked why he broke down he said, something along the lines of, ‘I remembered an evil man in black with a skull on his cap and he was the devil, now I just see a broken-down old man, and realize that it is in all of us.’ Putin does know that using tactical nukes would gain him nothing but losing his army in Ukraine. Biden needs to lift all restrictions and let them win this thing, but this would have been more effective a year ago. Mr. Sullivan is a problem.
    Thanks Frank.

True. But when standing up against torture will get you tortured, choices are limited. America engaged in torture and lost the moral high ground. Cheney's daughter still insists that water boarding is not torture. Then why engage in it, Liz?

I am very interested in torture prevention. Cheney and the CIA, which destroyed the water boarding tapes, should become examples. There should be a little voice in the back of one's mind, "This could happen to me." A study of professional torturers showed that they had been tortured.

    A matter of Perspective.
I believe Ukraine has pilots that are very up to speed with the F-16's and gained that ability in just a few months. Note they were already very experienced pilots prior to F-16 training.
However, that said, their numbers are few overall.
Less skilled pilots require more time and new pilots like any other country takes several years of training.
    As to the F-16's themselves.
If they've recieved the latest upgrades, they can face off with every ruZZian aircraft equally or better. Even the Su-35's.
But I assume they'll only have had the next to latest upgrade. This could change. I recall seeing the price of the very latest upgrade ranges around 20 million$ per aircraft.
Part of the reasoning on this is the power of Observation.
If ruZZia says they have a missile with a 150 mile range, subtract 1/3rd or actual being 100 miles.
The math being they fudge their claims by 50%. 100 plus 50. Or reversing that 1/3rd off equals 100. At least that's what you usually observe.
U.S. technology doesn't always live up to claims, but that depends on methodology many times.
    In the past
Patriots hit missile, but didn't destroy war head. Called a success, but if you get hit by that war head, you wouldn't call that a success.
Also a claim of 90% effective. But that's based on 2 Patriots fired at the target.
So depending on ones perspective you can interpret the data multiple ways.
Current Patriots allow 2 Patriots per target with a very high success rate according to Ukraine.
U.S. tech like HIMARS are rated with a 50 mile effective range. However, they've been very effectively accurate at up to 57 miles. According to Ukraine. So they perform better then advertised.
I'm not aware of any ruZZian tech performing to claims let alone exceeding them. Like their hypersonic missiles claim of mach 9 and even exceeding mach 10.
Have never been clocked beyond mach 6.7..

Much of what gives people ‘permission’ to act like monsters is the old Mob Mentality’. It only takes one other person or more to start acting monstrously to give others the thought that it must be okay. You see it all the time with criminals. Two people come together and alone would never act on their base instincts but they encourage each other and next thing you know they’ve carried out monstrous deeds.

I feel like that is an insult to the F-16 and what it actually is. F-16 was designed to engage and fight any Russian aircraft. Most Russian aircraft don't actually have this same philosophy in mind. They have larger wings and engines they were meant to get in and out of danger. They have no fight in them and will surly drop like flies should they choose to fight the f-16 on its own terms

Very refreshing to hear someone get off the "Ukrainians are so awesome that they can learn to fly an F16 in just 2 months" line. Absolutely no disrespect intended there. But too much of the media were inflating expectations in the extreme. Sure they can fly it in 2 months. But to use it effectively, proficiently, and to accomplish what you want to do with it in conjunction with other F16s and other weaponry...... I'm sure that takes a very long time.

So it'll be a target-rich flying environment for the F-16s then.
I very much doubt the terrorist federation can produce enough adequately trained pilots fast enough to trickle aircraft to the front any faster than they have been doing so far - there is no reason not to have done so sooner (while they have less opposition) if they were capable. So as fast as the terrorists bring fresh squadrons up to readiness (and we know how many - or rather how few - flying hours per year the terrorists have been doing, which isn't enough by a long shot), the F-16s will swat them. I don't believe many of the terrorist federation aircrew will be queuing up to be turned into greasy smoke over and around Ukraine, which may save on missile expenditure.

@@vksasdgaming9472 there might be some truth to that. heck even in the west only half the f35's in circulation are flight capable and i imagine russia still has the bulk of their planes still back protecting russia.

    • @phillee2814
      @phillee2814 4 дні тому

@@vksasdgaming9472 They can't afford to put in the flying hours to even maintain proper flying proficiency, which is a long way short of actual combat readiness, even if they had adequate aircraft for the task. Paper flying hours really don't help them, and they have been making too much use of the training budget on other things. The commander's Mercedes doesn't fuel or maintain itself, and the supply officer has to maintain his yacht somehow. Then there are all the holiday villas - How do those get funded if they don't get their share of the corruption? That is a feature, not a bug - in their "system", if you aren't corrupt, you are not vulnerable to being prosecuted any time they need to, so you can't be trusted. It is the system employed by the mafia, where nobody can ever be "made" until they have committed a murder. It works for producing trust but is very bad for producing proficiency unless the funding is high enough to do both - which it never has been.

what can you really say in the face of hard numbers straight from the horses mouth?
