I love how both of their parts of the song have a different tune. Raine’s has a more elegant tone thanks to their violin, while Eda’s sounds more high in tone but has a sort of sad rhythm
It may be possible that they’re playing it in a major key and she’s playing it in a minor… I can’t really tell for sure though, someone get an expert on this.
For example, the song is called eda’s requiem and Raines rhapsody, rhapsody meaning expression, or excitement of emotion, and Requiem meaning a mass grieving of dead

I was off-and-on crying through the whole finale, but that scene may be the thing that hit me the hardest. It wasn't just another bout of tears welling up; it felt like an emotional gunshot, and frankly, I'm not sure why that hit me harder than, say, Luz getting disintegrated by Beloszilla

anyone else notice that the sheet music at 4:11 is 1) legit playable sheet music and 2) in alto clef probably because a common joke in orchestra circles is about the viola as a scapegoat/weirdo/outcast, which ties into the "us weirdos have to stick together" theming and also is a shoutout to all the random orchestra/band nerds watching?

I’ve noticed the duet version goes well with a particular funeral hymn that I’ve heard a lot and I know that’s probably not intentional but I find it a neat little niche thing

My two favorite renditions are when they play together to defeat Darius and Eberwolf, and the For The Future opening. But the one where Eda and Raine play it together is one I could listen to on repeat for hours
I just love it when Raine is whistling it they are good at it too! And it’s just in my opinion adorable at they think they’re alone and is just whistling it too themself lol.
Yeah, as someone who plays several instruments, it’s easy to whistle and remain in tune if you know music; I’m able to whistle whole songs, provided I remember the tune

The rendition of the song in For the Future makes me cry every. single. time. And I have no idea why, that entire scene just breaks me
Love how the first and second times in Them's The Breaks Kid, it highlights Eda's wild and unkempt behavior by having the notes after go in totally different and sporadic ways throughout the piece, then followed by Raine's uniform and repeated use of the leitmotif. It wasn't Raine or Eda's theme, it's both theirs.🥹🥹🥹

They never really had the full version of Raines rhapsody with Edas instrument I don’t think
my top two favorites would probably be from king's tide and for the future. They're just emotionally heart-wrenching to watch but so well worked into the episodes
Thanks for the compilation. This gave me more reasons (as if there weren't already lol) to check the series again, since I definitely didn't catch all of them. This is probably my favorite song in the show, so hearing all renditions of it is great.
I caught up on the episodes leading up to the finale and this tune definitely stood out to me. So glad it came back for one last time.

Did anyone else connect the idea that Raine's scars in Watching and Dreaming were likely caused by tears?
They literally cried a flesh wound. I'm not sure if that's depressing or straight-up metal as hell.
edit: Okay, okay, I understand they were caused by Belos. It's still metal as heck that they're shaped like tears, and it's also badass to imagine _if_ they had been just normal tears that somehow carved scars on their own.

I thought that the piece is titled Raine's Rhapsody.
Also, that it was composed by Eda for Raine.
The phrase 'Eda's Requiem' stems from the episode of that name.
Eda says "Raine's Rhapsody? More like Eda's Requiem, am I right?"

The original is Rhaine's Rhapsody, but the later versions where they play together have a slightly different riff and are often considered to be Eda's Requiem. I just had to pick one for the title to keep it concise.

Yes I think the title of the song is Raines Rhapsody but everyone calls it edas Requiem it kinda bothers me.

No fully official release, but the composers (@BradBreeckMusic and @AndrewMorganSmithMusic) have released most of the soundtrack to their own UA-cam channels.
