INFINITI/NISSAN Akebono Big Brake Kit Upgrade
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 чер 2020
- Decided to update my factory brake system to the Akebono style calipers. Yes, these are re-manufactured calipers which essentially are better than buying anything used and not breaking the bank (they all do the exact same thing). All in all with rotors, pads, fluids and SS lines. I managed to come in below $900 for the full swap. You can grab SS lines from Z1 or CZP, both work great. I can't tell a difference the way these stop vs my 2017 Q60. The SS lines help with an overall better pedal feel as well.

Bear with me as im 4-5 uplaods behind. Enjoy the DIY, thanks for the support!
Your gonna love em! I have the same kit on my 08 M45 Sport! Love seeing guys making mod videos for older Infinitis!👍
This upgrade is a MUST.
wow 😮 super clean set up
Nice upgrade. I did mine on my m35 for under 400 minus the stainless steel brake lines
Thanks for the brake fluid tip
I have had a couple friends use heat wrap on the part that vibrates against metal and works wonders! Thanks for the upload brother great vid as always
Noted I will try that
U still got the calipers?
I have these on my 370Z sport and I love them. There are stainless steel braided brake lines on it, which are a good upgrade. When I need to do the brakes I'm going to replace the rotors with 2-piece Akebono aluminum hat rotors.
I’ve done about 5 brake caliper upgrades alone with a 1/4” clear line connected to bleeder and other side to a bottle that’s clear have about a 2ft slack so when you press the brake pedal you can see if there’s bubbles or not inside the clear 1/4” line You don’t have to worry about closing the bleeder because it will automatically suck brake fluid back in from the actual line that’s what the slack is for
Dang, nice find! I got mine naked and wish I had them powder coated, good video.
That was a pretty good price!
Good DIY bro
we in here 🙏🏽
Thanks for the upload sir I have some lines to swap on my g37 but have been too lazy to do it.
Worth doing it! I recommend bleeding the system twice
@@EnthusiastPOV Good to know got 2 1L bottles so plenty of fluid to spare in case I did need another bleed. :)
Twice you’ll need around 1500 ml
Nicely done Brotha 👐
Thank you bro. Huge fan of your channel
@@EnthusiastPOV Ayyye! 👐👐 YOU and KAVEN are ones that motivated me! THANK YOU BROTHA!
💪🏽💪🏽 we here
I got Akebono calipers and rotors from a q50. I bought the banjo bolts. I don’t need anything else to install on my 08 g35? I know I have to cut dust shield but I don’t need no adapters or anything ?
Which brake pads/rotors did you go with?
Looks like this swap is closer to 12-1300$ to do now from what I’m seeing.
I’d love to do this to my wife’s 3.0T
Thanks✌🏼
hey just want to ask, if I need the z1 akebono front brake bracket kit? i have a nissan 09+ 370z big brake calipers trying to fit them to me 07 infiniti g35x. not sure if i need those brackets or its a direct fit without the brackets? and what year brake pads would i need? the pads sizes are all the same throughout the big brake kits right? 355mm front and 350mm rear? thanks!
Hey boss i could really use your help ! Does this kit fit on a 2016 Infiniti Q50 premium ???
what rotors i need to buy? i have 370z base brakes
what’s the link to the rotor
Great video as always! 2 questions.. (1) Did the stoptech’s come with the banjo bolts? I just ordered the non-powdercoated set from amazon and (2) Is there any benefit with the SS lines?
SS línea benefit explained in video. As lines came with bolts
What are the specs of your wheels. Just wanna know if the brakes will fit my 17 inch oem wheels.
They only have it in red?
U can’t use the stock hoses?
Can I use my same rotor that’s on my g35x or do I need to buy one form a g35s
Oem rotors?
Will this brake kit set up fit oem g37x stock 18” rims? Im about to upgrade but i dont want any clearance issues & i need to know if with this set up will i have to purchase 19” wheels
Double check it will clear your wheels
can you fit the calibers on a QX60 suv ? How about the stock wheel clearance ? I will need to bend the back plate top edge to make the new rotors fit... but the most important the wheel clearance.
Looking forward for your feedback.
Not on the qx60 as it’s a different hub
Will these akebono fit a q50
How do you recommend the power stop calibers ? I’m b/w these or a brand new oem bbk for Infiniti
Either will work lol
I had the same problem with my exhaust and my 4wheel steering i order some adjustable exhaust hanger from amazon hope that help you
Thank you
I already have stainless steel lines so I wouldn't need to upgrade, but after installing the new rotors and calipers would I still need to bleed the system before driving? I have a mechanic that could bleed them for me since he has the tools but I want to know if I would be okay driving after installing the brake line into the caliper.
Yes don’t drive the car until you get it bled
Excellent job bro! Which calipers work best, just stainless?.. I want to paint my own color. I could research, just thought you knew something off top of your head. Appreciate it.
Either caliper works fine
Did you look at the unpaired calipers from Amazon? I think that’s the route I’ll go as I want yellows or light blue caliper on my all black Q50.
I did not, red seemed okay to me so I hit buy lol
@@EnthusiastPOV here's the link for those that want something different

I have a q50 premium and it fit directly with the regular rotor ?
No you will need the sport rotors
I don't want the calipers, I want all the go fast parts for the VR30 🤣🤣
Gotta stop lol
What size rotors did you use for be calipers
14 front 13.75 rear
Would these calipers fit my 350Z 08?
The 350z actually would use a set of Brembos that came on certain models. The calipers are slightly different
The link is for PowerStop calipers! Smh
Hey , question about the q60... i want to upgrade and get a bbk on my 2017 but im just wondering if anyone knows if a 245/35/19
And a 285/30/19 te37 ultra would clear those brakes
Tires aren’t the factor for clearing brakes. It’s wheel specs. Width, offset, etc
@@EnthusiastPOV oops lol i thought i threw that in
19x9.5 +35 front
19x10.5 +32 rear
Hey bro could i have your old front cailbers and rotors please.
Trashed them long time ago sorry man
Would this work on my g37?
Will work
So who won that race?
Lmao I lost by a headlight 🤣
Is there a reason why you didn't go with Z1 Lightweight Rotors?
$1000 for lightweight rotors on a daily ?? You tell me.
Yeah. Those rotors are for rich boys
Not necessarily lol. Its my go to work car not my weekend fun track car lol
How are the powerstop calipers holding up? Thinking of this for my Q50. How was the pint quality? Thanks
It’s the same caliper that comes from factory only refreshed at a much cheaper price.
@@EnthusiastPOV so very good then. I’ve never installed brakes but can find my way around basic repairs on cars. I wonder if I use the bar on seat method if I’ll need to bleed them.
@@EnthusiastPOV did it come with Powerstop on the caliper? I’ve heard some show up that way. I want it blank to put Akebono on them. Thanks
On this set they came blank. On the ones I just put on my new daily, they came with power stop. I can spray that area with a close matching red and it worked out perfect with advance auto red caliper paint
@@EnthusiastPOV do they paint the logo on or sticker? Thank you
How many banjo bolts do I need?
8 total
@@EnthusiastPOV good looking out!
What's good
sup G
@@EnthusiastPOV nice brake kit
@@tigwelding123 thank you fam
Put your rotors in vinegar , thank me later ! Back to new 💪🏼 in case you still have them
