Thx for the great video, but why did you cut and place the tape on the body, since the glass came pre-tapped already?
Wouldn't the tape on the back of the glass be sufficient?

yeah I know, it is bcos you have to delete space after the dot and I don't know why it does not works directly, but if you ll paste it in google search engine, it will work

Does this also apply on removing the (D3200) Glass Screen as well?!

I also have the d3200. Did you ever find out?

Yes it works just heat up the glass so it softens up the adhesive and take a blade to pry the glass up. And clean up the adhesive with rubbing alcohol.

    Why do you use scotch?
A new screen has own glue-layer, from whicn you removed the protective film

What is the size of the screen?, 3 in ?. I broke my Nikon l620 too.
    Regards.

for Nikon D3100 it is 3.0-inch for Nikon l620 display size is as well 3 inches but they looks slightly different, so I am not sure if it will fit in your camera

I would be afraid of damaging the LCD. There IS a company on Ebay that IF you buy a replacement outer glass from a company on Ebay for 14.99, ship them your camera and they'll install it for free. OR, safer to just take the screws out of the camera, incluidng the hidden screws under the rubber grips and near the viewfinder (taking out rubber plug), you can do remove the back shell of the camera and do it like you're replacing the entire LCD assembly less unplugging the cable.

Bryan Keller but such a services are very limited (e.g. if u are not from the US). Of course when ever u DIY operation, it is alwaya risky, but when you DIY you learn something new, even from mistakes and i did this for first time, i m not doing anything close to this every day, but I did it, so i believe other people as well can do it, but yeah if u are afraid to do it and dont wanna take that risk, then better take ur camera to specialist!

I dont understand why your are using small pieces of tape (which kind of tape) before to place the new glass ?

    • @scottyboy2400

I just ask him the same question. Why do you need to do that if the new glass came pre-taped? How do you end up doing yours? Thx!

whats the purpose of the blower?

    • @Superwoody24
      @Superwoody24 7 років тому

To heat the glue underneath to loosen it from the LCD ... My opinion anyway

Well I ordered mine from ebay from USA with NIkon brand on it, but it is slightly different, not so bold as original , but you can actually see it only if you look very carefully.. I bought this one, I got it quite a quickly as well (~1 week from US to east EU)
