    one curiosity I have about Alfi is his claim that he can mimic a lefort 2 or 3 with his so called "high lefort 1 cut" which "affects the zygomas"?? somehow?? Doesnt make sense to me, in that case wouldnt it not be considered a lefort 1 anymore? Would love to see a visual demonstration of this from him.

      It’s still a Lefort I as long as it doesn’t include the nasion and infraorbital rim

    Talking to a surgeon...these people do not know what they do not know. The whole lot of licensed professionals. When the body was divided from mind, and into 42 parts by the monopoly over a century ago, the 'specialists' learned a lot of things they need to simply unlearn, and start over as bodyworkers.

    Now I'm concerned about Yousefian's MSDO/DAME procedure. I don't know what to think. Is the answer to do MSDO, but slowly and cautiously?

      I went through it and it is tough on tmj but it is not bad similar to pain I had before. It is fine after 2 months. Went slowly

      @@EthanThomas33 Interesting. So did you feel it immediately in your TMJs? From you comment it almost sounds like you 'adapted,' since you said it was similar to the pain you had before and it was fine after 2 months. Would love to hear more about your experience

    @2:07 I'm just confused because he keeps saying orthodontically widening the upper arch but then confirms surgically and then back to orthodontically? 1:26 then 1:36, then 2:04.

    • @Derek-Katy

      The way he spoke could be misinterpreted, but he clearly states sugical for the maxilla and orthodontics for the mandible with possible SFOT beIng utilized, if needed.
      @1:26 He says, "he takes of advantage of widening with orthodontics as much as possible" as he points to his mandible, then clarifies that he surgically widens the maxilla followed by again mentioning using orthodontics for the mandible.
      @2:05 He says, " when we widen the upper arch, orthodoticlly we can widen the lower arch".

    My lower palate is shifted to the left side, and that's where my bite is. I forcefully keep the lower palate in the center under the upper palate, but when chewing, it goes back to the left side(sorry if it doesn't make sense). Is this a sign of TMJ or something else, and if so, what?

    • @ojcarre2432

      U got uneven jaw or cross bite probably, I’m getting Alf appliance ontop and lower it will fix that

    • @levistrauss8112
      @levistrauss8112 3 місяці тому

      @ojcarre2432 I just checked that my jaw or bite is crossed but that 3 of my lower teeth on right side is portrude in which is resulting in them not bitting correct with upper teeth thus also making my right side more defined and face asymmetrical. Thinking braces or an appliance of some sorts will be needed to pull teeth outward and give me the correct bite. Others don't notice that one jaw sharper than other but I do unfortunately

      @@levistrauss8112 same with me, in reality tons of people have it, some worse than others but yeah it’s not that complex of a diagnosis, if you got asymmetry in palate or bite then yeah it’s a cross bite for sure, I’m getting double ALF palate expansion in less than a month so we’ll see

    • @EthanThomas33
      @EthanThomas33 3 місяці тому

      Nah guys this won't work. It is due to asymmetries in the bones above and behind the maxilla as well as the asymmetry of the tmj joints and maxilla. A true cant or tilt is a skeletal problem and can only be compensated dentally. I have a major cant and did before I did dame+mse with yousefian. You can't fix it and if it is unstable it can get worse over time. Yousefian's goal is to expand and advance and create a stable final product that will not deteriorate over time and does this by compensation dentally. I think there is potential in doing osteotomies on small bones that determine the tilt of the maxilla but it would be a force to brace against ultimately otherwise it would return to it's normal position. At that point you might as well do mma which I might, but more procedures should be developed. There isn't a good one for addressing lateral skull skeletal tilt aside from mma/reconstruction because the face and upper body is so complex.

      @@AB-tz4no both are correct. He said that a benefit of distraction is that you can take it slow, so if you encounter TMJ issues from distracting with MSDO, you can simply turn back the device
