I have thoroughly enjoyed every variation of this deck. The work you have put into it shows & it is very interesting to see the different riffs on the archetype. Also the shades are a nice touch! 😎
@@kalikaiz I'll have to dig through the bulk bin tonight at Thursday Pauper since I only found 2 in our bulk card catalog. I really wanted the basic lands version with Sprouting Vines to work because it was so elegant, but I couldn't quite get there when I played it. The explosiveness of being able to get 2 mana off the depletion lands or the Geothermal Crevice is super-useful.
Dude you cooked like crazy here! This seems generally better than most prior iterations of the deck, not to mention way cooler. I think a good takeaway is that Snake Umbra+Flamebreather is insane, to the point where I would seriously consider cutting something (maybe a Seething Song?) for a Firebrand Archer. This seems doable because you can go off without a cost reducer in this build, as we saw in G3 versus Affinity.
its so frustrating tuning combo decks. I played vintage for years and searching for the perfect tendrils of agony build during its heyday was a never ending search
I know you must keep some data since you tend to know what your opponent usually plays(or good memory I guess) but do you have any data points you try to use building combo, or just intuition?
@LyleH-13 when I build a deck first I pick an interaction, then I build it on mtgo and look at it. Then I solitaire it for a while and see if it actually does the thing. From there you need to figure out if you can actually win on time or do your thing on time. If you combo off turn 6 it's just not viable If you have a late combo but a lot of interaction that can help you get to that critical turn
@@kalikaiz I’m playing in peasant, Idk if you know it, it’s kinda similar to pauper but we can play up to 5 unco, and the banlist is kinda different. We’re playing around 17-18 lands in our storm packs, but we’re killing with Hunting pack, so we usually need 5-10 storm before casting Hunting pack, it’s less than what’s needed in a ruby storm list. And we can play Sinkhole, so it may be a good reason to play more lands. But idk, with only 14 lands, even with 4 petal, I feel that we can miss some land drop the early turn, and it can be tough Great work btw, and thanks for your answer :)
Your brews are always awesome. Your work on ruby storm has been so fun to watch and this iteration is so siqq. Thanks as always for your content!
@@cherrycoulis6564 thank you!
That looked great! Like so much fun! Match 5 game 2 had me holding my breath it was so suspenseful!
@@Princederbat it was so much fun!
this deck looks like SOOO much fun!
Crazy fun!
Love that you got snake umbra working 🎉 - always thought that card had potential
It's something I always come back to haha
This is insane...that snake umbra tech is really insane. Wish it was red xD
Yeah it pops off so hard! Just don't face blue decks haha
So fast
"Can't stop blasting ropes"
I don't understand this ropes thing haha

Thank you I'm always excited to hear that feedback!
Fun list! Firebrand Archer might be worth testing for added redundancy.
@@rsmith524 I've tried that in the past but it was pretty meh as it is super easy to kill haha
Combo time glasses kill me.
Hahaha thanks
I love watchig your video, especially you ruby storm videos. Keep up your great work
@@leoremozef3728 thank you I appreciate it!
This was awesome sweet deck loved listening to you talk on the common ground podcast
Thanks! And thank you about the pod it was fun!
Sweet! I do love ruby storm. That Snake Umbra is a really nice piece of tech.
@@ValerieEnriquez not sure if it's the best but it's definitely the most fun!

@ValerieEnriquez yeah that was my problem too. It's hard to balance this deck!
The 3/3 familiar split doesn't seem to make sense here, because Anarchomancer reduces the cost of the umbra.
True true. I did want blessing to be free post board and less hydro impact so idk
Bro this combo is so satisfying to watch, can’t Imagine playing it
Oh it's quite satisfying to play that's for sure
beautiful deck
Thank you!

Might have to try it! I mixed my fun old jank with the new Ruby shell haha
cutting the songs is probably not the cut in most of these matchups where they are racing you, you are better off cutting big score.
Makes sense yeah
Maybe a breath weapon or two on top of Weather the storm in the sideboard for burn?
Deck seems strong! Great work
Thanks! I think I can beat burn I just didn't have it go very well in those matches
The deck is super sweet. Seems a lot faster than the vines variant
It can really explode!
What has been your favorite iteration of ruby so far? This lost seems to be very prominent with a lottle more tuning/sideboard guiding!
I think the absolute best version is the burning prophet one ONLY IF prophet is drawn immediately, otherwise it sucks
Combo time!
Crazy! When everything falls into place😅
@@oblobear2093 still can't beat a blue deck but I sure go fast otherwise!
this is so sick man, what a cool combo. I guess keen sense isn't pauper legal?
That would have REALLY powered this up if it were common dang
Nice! Snake umbra was sick! Full art Faithless looting skyrocked in price btw after the unban, did you manage to pick up a few copies?
Thanks! I haven't picked up any flooring sadly
This may have been asked and if so apologies but why flamebreather over guttersnipe? Pinging for 2 seems better than pinging for 1?
It's because gutter only triggers on instant and sorcery and that means you could fizzle harder basically. Also the cost does matter
Snake umbra😶🌫️🤯 spicyyyyy
So fun!
Are you old enough to remember the movie Over the Top? With Sylvester Stalone.
Maybe but I never saw it 😅

Absolutely. I already recorded another build of this lol

14 lands, isn’t it too low ?
@@MaxRCoaching well it can be. It's tough to balance everything. Traditionally storm is a 12-14 land deck in pauper but I'm not positive why

@MaxRCoaching thanks!
I like this deck idea. Sadly my experience lately playing has been much the same as here...red, red and red. Boring lack of variety.
Pauper is quite solved right now and definitely not very exciting. Trying to do weird stuff to stay in it
@kalikaiz trust me I know and appreciate that you do! Poison storm is my favorite deck to watch you pilot but I'm glad for any non red at this point.
@newtpondskipper appreciate it!
