A CLOSER LOOK gives a far better (and in many ways more accurate) account of the news than the networks. It leaves out the hysteria and focuses on the situations and absurdity. And Seth and the great writing staff calling out the BS never fails to entertain.
"Executive Time" was 4 hours of hair, makeup, and sliding into a girdle. Then he had to practice with the lifts in his shoes. Then trying to drink water with only one hand.
And his most rigorous training of all - walking up and down a short 5 degree incline

Kelley-Anne used the phrase "Alternate Facts" when describing the small crowd size at tRump's inauguration. That pretty much describes his whole administration.
The thing is, my time with the sea captain and the random bees in the attic and trying to catch the next change in prop literature are the moments that kept me sane during the lockdown. And I have odd nostalgia for them because it felt special? Like … keeping me on my toes made me more than just an audience person. I was part of the Family, whatever that means 😆

I loved watching the show transform over the course of the pandemic. Definitely the first show to completely embrace the insanity of our quarantine situation.

I love the direction this show is going. It's not the fourth wall, right cause all monologues address the audience, but it's the 5th wall maybe? Doesn't matter, it's new and one of a kind and funnier for it. The writer call out's, the self own admissions, the John Mulaney thing, Wally, corrections. I love every part of the honesty of this show.It's the best show on late night since the pandemic.

No offense, but this isn't a monologue. It's his segment, "A Closer Look." And they're only depressing because he analyzes the situation so well.

Now he just claims any lawsuit against him must be 'political' and hence should be summarily dismissed instead of examined on its merits.

For perspective, the supply chain problem is a global issue not just an American one.
As an American I can say with complete honesty we're entitled jerks.
Supply chain issues started since 2017 with the NAFTA renegotiation and Chinese tariffs. There was strong inflationary pressure since before the pandemic hit, but many suppliers had been compensating and absorbing additional costs hoping it would be temporary. Then as world economies began to reawaken, most vendors had to pass on the costs to consumers, and try and increase production and deliveries to pre-pandemic levels. Inflationary pressures can still be temporary, hopefully they will begin negotiating down the tariffs as the shipping glut resolves, but it might take years for some prices to go down.
Never forget those alternative facts!

It is important, I think, to point out that the virus has not gone away. The delta variant already has a new variant. And in some parts of the world about 1% of the population is vaccinated. This could be changed but ownership of patents is clearly more important than human lives. 😥

@@richiejohnson nope, not at all. There's a lot of benefits ex-presidents receive, including intelligence briefings, $ for office spaces, pensions, lifetime secret service protection, and more. There's also the "policy" of executive privilege which can shelter ex-presidents from certain legal action against them as private citizens, but it's generally up to SCOTUS/Chief Justice to interpret (Harvard Law had a good post on this back in September if you google it). My point is the way he handled his electoral defeat should disqualify him from all of that.
