Saw Morbid Angel and Napalm Death in NYC at Coney Island High concert on St. Marks place in Manhattan, back in March of 1999. Concert venue of Coney Island High no longer exist as it's a clothing store but inside of the clothing store are wallpapers of pictures all around the walls of what the place looked like 20 plus years ago, even shows the actual stage on the wallpaper as i imagined myself where i was standing when the bands played at the time.

is when i found out who Morbid Angel was i was 13. after hearing music from Covenant album on movie Night of the Demons 2('94) i didnt know who it was. and tapes i had and Pantera was heaviest. but the best part is '95 my grandma let me get the Domination cd. i was 13. i dont know what the popular choice is today for young teens. and dont care...thing is i know MA wasnt the big thing with other kids at school. but i forgot to care.

My best friend in high school in the mid 2000s was a little guy named Carlos, the teachers all liked him because he looked like he walked out of 1988. He played drums in a death metal band, drove me to school in a huge truck with a lift kit on it blasting Ma's domination every morning. It was a trip but it was also cool to think we were all very much invested in classic death metal and 80's horror films a good 20 years after their day.

This video is fucking funny. Morbid Angel does actually kick ass; and this song is not too bad. But seriously, Altars of Madness is a better album IMO. And Bloodbath does it's own version of this song, inspired by clearly, called No God Before Me, and it is fucking badass \m/

When I wrote that comment, Survival of the Sickest had just come out and I still love No God Before Me, but God of Emptiness was revolutionary for the era in which it was released. It was pretty damn evil and Covenant is clearly great from top to bottom. Altars is a close second and then Domination. The only one I don't like much is Illud Divnum Insanus, but even that has a couple tracks that I can listen to. Though they clearly did a hard copy of Ministry's 1990's albums.

Morbid Angel was the 1st Death Metal band signed to a major label. And it was the best selling Death Metal album of 1993. Morbid Angel would tour with Megadeth and Black Sabbath for part of the Covenant tour. Mike Judge had B&B constantly rip on metal bands but never once did B&B rip on anything rap. And B&B are supposedly 'metalheads"??? yeah right.!!
