Just wanted to say it was a chore. I don’t know why they made it so nerve racking to swap out a windscreen but anyway thanks for the video you are putting a major dent in the system! 😀
Great Vid, That is way more involved than the old 2016. I got rid of the aftermarket windscreen that came on my used bike and switched to the OEM windshields for the same reason (they just seem more secure).
Yep, there is a reason why it was designed they way it was. I didn't like how much it was vibrating with the puig when riding. I.didny.want the cowl.to.start cracking.
Hey I'm the 300th subscriber! Thanks for the good detailed video. I'm putting in an MRA screen and swapping out my '16 R1M upper with a '18 R1 blue/black one. The original M needed more yamaha racing blue.
Damn man, looks like a pain to swap out on the r1 and potentially melting the gauge Jees! Great tutorial, I'm curious to see if you notice the 520, I'm sure it would be a big upgrade for my smaller bikes
Yeah melted the bezel on the r6. That was my fault. I parked the wrong direction in the sun. Oh well. I think I forgot to mention, I will be doing one down two up. Damn thing will do 100 in first.
The 4mm hex bolt is getting stuck for me when I attempt to loosen it, I am not trying to force it in fear of breaking the front cowl. Is this something you guys have run across? If so how did you get the bolt out?
@sethpost7943 Yeah, that doesn't sound good. Working it back and forth doesn't help at all? I would hate to say try one more time and give it just a little more but end up breaking the cowl, it's either giving it one more go and pray, or do the windscreen the difficult way.
Quick question I want to change my sprockets too. What combination do you suggest? Also if I do change would I have to slip the clutch less on takeoff? It's less now after the dyno and flash but still annoying.
Depends, you can do a one down up front, this will usually keep you from having to do a chain and will help on take offs. I like the down one front up two rear. .
Thanks for the video! Put a Puig R-Racer on my '24 R1 today with your help.
Glad I could help, and the video was useful.
Also --- That little "hidden pocket" is a great place to tape an Air Tag/Bluetooth tracker and add a layer of security.
Didn't even think about that. Thanks for the idea.
Just noticed mine didn’t come with one 😭

Thank you for the comment. If it wasn't for the hooks, it wouldn't be so bad. 🤷 I would rather take the thing apart than risk breaking the cowling.
Thank you for this video, took me 5 minutes to pull it off and another 5 to put it on 🙏🏼💯
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for subscribing. I believe I said the 300th gets the puig off this bike. Hit me up at MotoN8tioN@gmail.com
Very detailed video! My 2023 R1 doesn’t have the pocket on the right side…weird but keep up the great work brotha!
Thank you, I dont get why they did that. It's not like you will use it for track days or to keep your insurance and registration in it.
Bro - this was very helpful, thx
I'm glad I could help.
❤❤good job🎉🎉🎉
Thank you.

@@moton8tion866 haha yea that might make it more fun for the streets
It's still a lot of bike for the street. I still find myself riding the r6 more

The 4mm bolt in the black console panel piece.
I did not have any issues. Is your turning and then getting tight or not break free or not break free at all? 🤔
@@moton8tion866 It is turning about a quarter if a turn then tightens and feels like its going to break the tab if i force it

Thank you for that video.I have the puig windscreen and the zero gravity sr and still haven't install.

Thanks so either one will reduce having to slip the clutch?
I know that has to be done but it's much better after dyno flash but I want it to be reduced more.Atleast close to Zx6R level
It can help, yes. I need to ask tho, have you checked your clutch adjustment lately? You shouldn't have to slip the clutch too much.
Would you be willing to swap rims? I got black ones
No I won't. What I can do is provide the paint color for you.www.colorrite.com/product/yamaha-008l-nebura-gold-1940.cfm
