It's easy to get caught up in comparing cards based on efficiency and failing to see the bigger picture. You have a assembled a very promising budget deck that looks fun to pilot. How appropriate that it scavenges like Hyenas, picking the scraps that others leave behind. I love caged sun and even gauntlet of power in some cases. And Rise from the Grave might not be as efficient as other reanimators but I like this include. It may have been power crept out of a lot of decks, but it targets any graveyard, which doubles as a crime and makes it a black zombie for bonus payoffs. Is 5 a bad deal for reanimation? Not exactly, it's still great when you're getting something you killed on an opponents turn that is 6 mana or more. You committed a crime on their turn and committed a crime on your turn bringing it back. You got a sweet deal there and you're producing a ton of mana with that Sun or Gauntlet in a mono colored deck. Great build brother!

I plan to grab up all the gisa in art cards i dont already own, and remake my Ghoulcaller Gisa with them in it. Not sure if ghoulgisa or hellgisa will be my commander now

I saw this video just before the new set came out, cancelled my other preorders and built a deck BASED OFF THIS VIDEO, i will be editing it a bit as time goes on but still..

It’s just unfortunate we don’t have an Abzan warlock commander.
We have all these warlocks, but no real way to make them into a cohesive strategy.
We need like an Edgar Markov for them.

Seems like abzan warlocks are mostly focused around sac/reanimate plus life gain/drain/life as a resource with a small subtheme of using food as a resource.
While not warlocks themselves Sam and Frodo would probably work fairly well for this.
what do you think about adding in a breach the multiverse? a bit expensive, but i feel maybe worth

I'd rather have her in the 99 of an Umezawa deck, 5 mana is so pricey
gisa is better in the 99 but even still not that great........I think the pair would have been awesome if they did a partner mechanic with OTJ gisa and geralf. In the 99, OTJ geralf can be a house with zombie recursion shenanigans.......30/30 just add haste.....his first ability, meh.......second ability is where it's at in an eternal format.
the only mono-colored zombie commander I could see running is mikaeus with that black artifact that lets you pay 3 life to move your commander from the zone to your hand.
lastly, if you really want to do some shenanigans then if you build a token heavy zombie deck then you can use zombie trailblazer to lock out your mono-blue opponents, lol.

Im not sure about her as a commander, but shes a house and legitimate wincon in my Marchesa crimes deck; I can trigger her 4 times a turn for no mana which means shes a 5 mana creature that brings along up to eight 3/3 bodies the turn she comes down.
Yeah, definitely a utility piece in those types of decks.
