- Today we are taking a look at our top 10 X-Men figure from Hasbro Marvel Legends. We each chose 5 and made sure we didn't have any overlap. What 5 X-Men would you say are in your top spots?
You guys have such a good formula. “Just two dudes talking about toys” it’s a lot more interesting than just the normal formula. I know there’s a couple other channels that do this but they seem so scripted. You guys just seem so genuine. Just wanted to let you guys know, I really appreciate and enjoy your content.
Thank you! We really want it to feel like you're sitting in a room listing to your friends talk about action figures and you can join in the conversation in the comments (or our call in shows). We have some notes planned out so we don't forget anything and we try to think of something fun to start the intro but after that, we're just talking.

I agree with your paper cape argument. They’re so bad I love the retro white storm but the paper looks bent and ugly. Meanwhile I bought the two pack storm for only $25 and she was worth every penny and love how they did the cape and gave you a powered up angry option or the calm composed option for face and capes. super smart
Yeah imo that’s the go to storm right now. Once they figure out something else with the cape on the Jim Lee look that might take over.
Interchangeable feet….that would be awesome! Never thought about that option…but it would be great!
McFarlane did it with his figure so it can be done for sure.
You can absolutely put Spiral in your list. She permanently turned good after Mojo was defeated once. She loved Longshot and he was able to get through to her and get her to switch sides. So she started as a villain but redeemed herself and became good. Only thing that holds her back is her mind, as she's extremely mentally unstable from her powers and torture she went through which keeps her from being part of the X Men but she's been an ally for years
I need to read some more stories with her in them.

Very true. Jordan even considered adding ToyBiz beast and even though it’s toeing the line I think it still works.

I regretted passing on the ‘97 Wolverine until I got the Astonishing one - it’s just about perfect.

I want to get the toybiz gambit jacket and put it on the team uniform Gambit
Even though it’s an old piece of soft goods it holds up pretty well for the most part over the years.

3. Cell shading removed Cyclops
4. X-Factor Havok w/bone breaker effects
5. Dark Phoenix 2 pack
I was thinking about Havok too and if they redid him pinless with keyed in straps and butterfly joints I think he'd be on my list.

@@thestrongcollectors I saw it somewhere on IG. Wish I thought of it first lol but yeah the Gambit that came with Banshee and Psylocke 3pack. I liked that sculpt much more than the first Gambit had. Def made it a pretty solid Gambit ML.

Man, you sold your Colossus? I literally just had my 2 Pack delivered from that reissue in February 😅. This was a fun video, your top 10 lists are always great guys!
Thank you. I’m glad you like them. For me I just think they’ll eventually do him again so if he’s going high I might as well let him go. Especially with me going to be traveling for the next year at least, he would have just been in storage anyway.
@@thestrongcollectors oh yeah you're doing the cross country bus trip soon right? Sounds super fun, I agree I think eventually we'll get an updated comic accurate Colossus. Especially with the Deadpool and Wolverine version being released soon.

Retro Beast is among the best Marvel Legends ever, is my top Xmen Marvl Legends. The rest of my top 5 would be the new Cable, the 97 Cyclops, the 97 Wolverine, and the 97 Night Crawler
Retro beast really is an objectively fantastic figure.
That Colossus is not a Jim Lee look. That is a Cockrum/Byrne look. The X on the belt is a mistake.

@thestrongcollectors it's close, but the wrist bracers, boots, and shoulders are all wrong. I would really like a Jim Lee Colossus, though, even if it is a slight mod to this figure. We are due for pinless anyway though, and there are so many Colossus costumes we haven't gotten yet. John Romita Jr., Silvestri(Outback), Acolytes, Astonishing, etc.
I have to say i agree with the "Toy Biz Killer"🤣on many of his picks..i have 4 ou of 5 of his Top 5 in my collection.. including the kit bashed X Men 97 / Wendigo wave Nightcrawler..& btw there's ZERO problems with switching the heads..& far as Maverick is concerned..ive been planning on picking him up ever since the
Sabertooth Logan 2 Pack was released..& i still plan to..
Also i was able to pick up that Retro Storm Thunderbird 2 Pack last year BEFORE X Men 97 premiered.. for $20 on eBay.. but the price has gone up since then.

I feel like there’s even a lot of x men adjacent characters that are really good people forget about too.
In no particular order, my top 5 X-Men would likely be:
1) Wolverine (Classic brown & orange costume)
2) Rogue (Black bodysuit with green accent pieces/Marc Silvestri Outback)
3) Psylocke (Jim Lee ninja version since we don't have Outback yet...)
4) Longshot/Nightcrawler/Colossus (3-way tie)
5) Archangel
Could change tomorrow, but that's where I'm at today, lol 😅
Just for fun, I'll toss in a top 5 X-Men villains, again in no particular order...:
1) Juggernaut
2) Magneto
3) Goblin Queen/Dark Phoenix
4) Apocalypse
5) Marauders/Reavers
It's very hard for me to narrow down from so many characters to just 5 or even 10, because I keep thinking of another character that deserves to be on the list, but I feel like my listing would make for a pretty solid team at any given point during the time that I collected, and much better than so many of the lame@$$ woke team line-ups being jumbled together in the past several years... At a certain point, I just had to quit because the stories stopped being entertaining and fun to read, and just became increasingly tedious, boring, stupid, and generally difficult to get through an issue because of all that junk, plus the crazy @$$ glossy pages, where you have to constantly shift the book around in the light to enjoy the artwork because of the absurd glare on every page... On top of that, the prices have doubled and tripled from when I collected seriously and the quality has gone way down... X-Men comics used to be consistent quality, no matter which title you might choose, but then Marvel went Xcrazy, and tried to do too much with too little quality and in the process, pissed off their quality, longstanding writers, and artists and we started getting trash... some may disagree, and that's okay, but as a creator and artist myself, it was pretty clear when the nosedive occurred and I don't think ANY of the books ever fully recovered...
When I culled a significant portion of my collection, roughly 10 years ago or so, it was easy for me to pick that cut-off point where I just seriously stopped enjoying the books, and I unloaded everything from that point forward... I don't miss ANY of those books either. 😅😅😅 A big part of that reason is because there was so much really GOOD STUFF prior to the craptastic nonsense, I could spend years going back to re-read all of it.
Same thing with my Avengers and related titles, FF, Spider-Man, Midnight Sons/Marvel Knights (whatever you want to call them,lol)... I kept what I enjoyed and ditched EVERYTHING else, except for some general issues for artistic references of costumes for commission artwork...
Anyway, enjoyed the video, as usual... definitely a couple of lists that most wouldn't have, but always fun to see.
It really does depend on the day who we could pick. That’s why we like doing the all time marvel legends list each year. It’s always different plus there are new possibilities that could come in and take a top 10 spot.

Here is mine X-Rank (I only selected figures that I own)
- Nightcrawler (Caliban)
- Cyclops X-Factor (I don't have the classic blue and yellow Scott, this is my second fav outfit and I love the sculpt of the action head)
- Colossus Diamond Select. There's a lack of articulations, but I prefer that size for Rasputin. I prefer the DS Juggernaut as well for the same reasons.
- Storm 2 pack TB: Beautiful figure. Punk Storm is my fav itineration with her, but this shines like no other.
- Storm Punk (obvious reasons)
- Wolverine Apocalypse: big fan of the brown suit, I used him as the 80s version of Logan. I like very much that confident smile that they give to one of his heads.
- Angel DeLuxe
- Dazzler (arcade jacket) I prefer her 70s disco outfit, but it isn't available in my zone. Big fan of Alison, she must be in the rank.

4 :x-men 97 Cyclops with the love triangle head sculpt.
3: Toybiz nightcrawler for the articulations and articulated tail with the angry headsculpt and sword of the Hasbro one from apocalypse wave. 2 :Gambit from the apocalypse wave with the toybiz trenchcoat but with the head from the one Blue and yellow suit 3 pack and the cards Effects of the Marvel select.
1 :My favorite beast from the retro card.
That's a lot of kitbashing but does sound like the best versions of the characters.

Holy crap, I had that colossus as a kid too! I remember it so well.
That might have been one of my very first xmen toys I ever got.
It's too hard for me to choose! I have 53+1 X-Men, plus 4 Heroes I use as Villains. Three in my Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, 1 in my Evil Kree Avengers. I put Chamber, Kid Omega, and Darwin in my Brotherhood, and Maggot, who is Blue, I use as a Kree.
That is definitely a large list to choose from.
@@thestrongcollectors Yes, and trying to update all the time. I have the New Phoenix coming! I missed the Colossus as my current card expires in October and that hits in November! Going to try to get a new card next Thursday. And my 1 Custom was a definite trade up for the X-Men. I headswapped low level Morph to make Alpha Level Questar! Near Colossus strength, maximum Green Phoenix level Psionics, master of Lung Ki 'Super Kung Fu', formerly the One Man Meta Human SWAT Team of the LAPD! Which means he sees things like a Cop, is in X-Force as he will, slightly reluctantly, kill if he has to. His one weak spot is that he flies like the Greatest American Hero because he just learned how to fly.

I’ve been trying to decide if we should do the into on regular shows or just live shows. I feel like it might be repetitive but maybe it’s not.
Isn’t that astonishing X-men colossus costume. I want them to do the x-factor team with OG 5 cast in first costumes and then second. Fully articulated and pinless. Also want to see the brood and brood queen. The Phalanx would be cool too. Dakota you have lost your mind that xmen 97 is the best wolverine ever. Good episode. Take care guys. Have a good weekend. It's annoying when 30 or younger collectors think everything is "Jim Lee". That Colossus costume was from the 70s and 80s well before Jim. If anything it's John Byrne and Claremont's Colossus look.

Uncanny avenger was a fun read and the jacket makes the figure look better
97 rogue is worth all the hype I wanted her for the longest time and I finally got her. Shes much better than the retro because of the face sculpt. I don’t understand how anyone can enjoy the retro rogue with her pissed off face when she is supposed to be happy 99% of the time.
Which is odd because in xmen 97 I’d say she’s a majority not happy.
@@thestrongcollectors true but we can also say the same for the 97 cyclops with how much I love that version it makes no sense at all for him to be smiling cuz he only really smiles once in that one superhero landing scene. Hes always stern and I really wish they coulda gave him that look. But for Rogue I always would want a happy version no matter what but the pyro 2 pack rogue has a great angry face.

What age limit do you set your videos too cause for some reason there is no comments on my hulk collection video and I think it’s bc of that. Also the comic night crawler is goat/ chefs kiss, oh new gambit by ML oh oh I would love that bc mafex is pricey I would love a new wolverine that’s not vhs or 97 but tiger stripe and pinless on card.
we don't put an age restriction on but we don't set it "for kids". when videos are set to for kids it turns off the comments and other features.
