    Great review, Pan. The Milwaukee's a really nice machine (as is the Flex). Just an fyi, this is not Milwaukee's first polisher, they've made an M18 rotary polisher for quite some time, now. True it's not a dual action, but a polisher none the less. So, they did have at least some prior experience designing a polisher. As their first dual action however, it's certainly very impressive.

    I never was a milwaukee guy just bc my Dad had Makita which then transitioned to DeWalt sometime in the mid to late 90's. I will say DeWalt lost out to Milwaukee and hell even Ryobi was popular bc of the large variety of cordless tools/accesories which really is why I think Milwaukee is so great today..besides their batteries seeming to be the best or at least equal to what I used to get out of DeWalt..which they have a polisher now too I saw..I wish Bosch would get their shyt together and offer more variety but for now its Milwaukee for me. Nationwide available ecosystem and same day replacement if needed.

    I been using the 21mm Milwaukee since release and its a game changer - I plan on getting a 15mm as well, so I have variance in my garage and use. I average on my 9.0 batteries around 30-40m of use, which is more than enough to get a front end of car done usually. Usually 2 batteries gets me through my project as I'm charging the other one. I also have a few 5.0 batteries to fill in my use, haven't been that hard off on it yet.

    • @tonygutierrez3392
      @tonygutierrez3392 Рік тому +1

      The 5.0 are lighter but for run time and performance you are better off with the 6.0, you could also go for the 3.0 HO which still give you the performance and the lightness but sacrificing the run time

      @@tonygutierrez3392 3.0 and 5.0 are pretty similar in performance. The 3.0 has better cells but far less of them so heat will be more of a power killer with the 3.0 as there's less cells to disperse that heat.

    I know you were talking about motor quality when you were listening to the noise of the polisher before its rotation came to a stop. I tried to find some info on the flex, but is the flex polisher brushless or an induction motor like all brushed earlier designed tools. If so, then the brushless motor of the milwaukee is a permanent magnet motor and without brushes which usually are knotchy from the poles of the magnets, where and induction motor won't be. So maybe that is the reason for the extra noise?

    Excellent video. I ended up buying the Milwaukee to see what all the fuss is about (mainly on Matts recommendation) and while I really enjoy the convenience vs my corded Rupes LHR15, I really am on the fence regarding smoothness. So much so I don’t know if I will keep it. It’s noticeably more corse than the LHR15. Other than that I can’t really fault it. Maybe a tad heavy but ergonomics are great, batteries amazing and plenty of power. I imagine V2 they will solve it but can’t wait to see Rupes 5” version

      @@ToyotaAristo Well much like Pan said I think prolonged use could get a little fatiguing and incidentally I did notice some tingling in my hands after a few hours on a recent detail but I was going hard at it.
      I don’t think it’s a deal breaker necessarily but I am not sure I would recommend it if you’re an 8hr a day detailer. 1-2hrs or the odd detail and you’re good. You can always wear protective gloves if needs be. If it weren’t for the annoyance of blowing out the pads with the LHR15 and dragging the cord cross the garage I wouldn’t have purchased the Milwaukee.
      I think I am going to keep it just for the convenience stand point alone. The future is battery, even Rupes is going that way and you can’t argue with Milwaukees 18v system so if you’re deciding which system to invest in then the Milwaukee is the better value proposition imo, even with that minor caveat

    Milwaukee being less "premium" actually gives less pressure to beginners like me, where the determining factor is the technique rather than the tool.
    I'm still super worried about doing polishes on my own. I don't think i can finish the wash-prep-polish-ceramic coating in a single day. Do I have to redo the wash/prep steps again if i want to polish another section one or two days later (only garage parking, no driving)? Or do i just need to wipe off the dust with towels? Or actually, i can just continue the polishing cuz there shouldn't be too much dust in just a day or two?
    And do you think its ok to for example, polish and ceramic coating a panel per day, so that the whole job would take a little less than a week?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Рік тому +1

      Good pick, you will like the practicality of having a cordless polisher. And this is certainly a good one. For pads, it really depends on what paint you have, level of desired correction, which polishing compounds you use, etc. There's no miracle "one pad does all for everyone" solution. Hence why it's important to do test spots to determine which pad and polishing compound combination is best suited for your specific paint and level of defects.
      But as a general guideline, there are a few staples I always have in my collection, so here they are:
      Rupes blue coarse pad: bit.ly/3L6sLHg
      Rupes yellow polishing pad: bit.ly/3ujLF7x
      Meguiar’s DA microfiber cutting disc: bit.ly/3AOVb3I
      Meguiar’s DA microfiber polishing disc: bit.ly/3unwVV0
      Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber polishing pad: bit.ly/3o1nJ3b
      You will need 5" versions of those pads.

    Thanks for the video content. I recently ordered Flex XFE 15 150 18.0 and Flex PXE 80 10.8 on which I would like to build up my skillset and later offer my detailing services in Switzerland. Heard Flex can be a little under powered. However, once my skills develop while cars paint quality varies. Would you suggest in order to add value to my tool collecting to order 21 Milwaukee as being the better choice or still 15 Milaukee despite I already have Flex 15. The point I would like to make is to avoid buying two same tools without adding value.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Місяць тому

      If you have the Flex 15mm and PXE 80 polishers, you already have the good stuff. Only thing better is Rupes HLR15 (new cordless version) which I reviewed here: ua-cam.com/video/q4gYpQrfemA/v-deo.htmlsi=3DURVj04_kbn-BGs
      So you have a 5" polisher, a 3" polisher (PXE), and you might need to eventually add a 1" polisher for the super small intricate areas. That's when you buy something like the Rupes iBrid Nano: bit.ly/4abhdhH
      That way you have the three classic polisher sizes, that will allow you to do any job.
      You don't really need a 21mm polisher (with 6" backing plate) as those are really only used for super large FLAT panels, like a big hood from a large SUV, to save time cutting.

    What polishers would you recommend with a 2-3 inch backing plates?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Рік тому +3

      It depends what polisher you are using. Not all polishers use the same speed ratings.
      Typically, you spread the polish on low speed (speed 2) and then polish or compound at higher speeds (speed 5).
      You also apply liquid waxes and sealants on low speed.

The Milwaukee is so much more powerful than the flex you tested here. I only use the flex random orbital for wax and micro polish. If I’m correcting. I’ll use the forced rotation or the Milwaukee.
