  • In this daily vlog I wait for the social worker to come do a home visit. I do a Marshalls and Costco haul. I give a quick update about my previous foster kids and last but not least, I talk about another call I received for a newborn foster baby boy waiting at the hospital. These type of calls are important because they change the lives of the foster youth and foster parents. Foster parents wait impatiently for a call and sometimes that call forces you to make a really hard decision.

We also had that happen to us where they never came back from an overnight visit! No goodbyes are hard!

That is when you need other foster families for cases just like this my friend would have taken that baby until I could take it I so wish we lived closer so I could have helped you out. I take 2babies at a time but I stay home and my hubby works, I quit work to do foster care we have been foster parents for over 20yrs and have had over200 infants in our home I have never adopted but many of my friends have I just love taking care of babies. Good luck and God Bless

Yes definitely need a greater support system of other local foster parents! I have thought back and forth about being a full-time foster parent but i just cant seem to make the jump quite yet! Afraid of burn-out perhaps… Have you only solely wanted to foster or did you want to adopt and it just never quite happened for you? Thanks for your words!

I feel like we’re in the same place with foster care. I am also the emotional one going by my heart and my husband uses his head. I’ve definitely learned to listen to him because I would say yes to whatever and then be so overwhelmed I couldn’t handle it. Hang in there momma, you’re amazing, you’re doing great, and you’ll get your forever baby

Yes I have been overwhelmed by my own impulsive decisions more times than I can count! We live and we learn! Thank you for your kind words.

You were exactly right around the 5 min mark! Foster parents have to be the MOST flexible and accommodating! It's one of the hardest parts about "always saying yes"! I also related with how much prep work and cleaning we do before the social workers visit, and then they are barely there 5 min 😂

Do you get paid to foster care? Do you get reimbursed for spending in the kids clothing food ect? Just out curiosity 😌

Hi Rosa! My agency gives us a stipend every month to cover the monthly costs associated with caring for the child. I actually have a video on it that goes into more detail!~
