- IT'S FINALLY TIME! After 2 failed preview attempts, Quincy and Emma are riding the NEWEST ride in Disney World, Tiana's Bayou Adventure. They are taking you along on the media event to learn all about the story of the new attraction, fun hidden details, and even taking a detour to look at the also newly opened CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza in EPCOT. If they wanted to keep it Disney themed somehow, they could try to recreate food from the parks! I would so watch this!
Much has been made about Emma's cooking so we definitely need to see a Gumbo episode. Call it "At home with Allears"
Yes! You should do a Quincy & Emma cooking episode(s).....make it a series, try recreating popular dishes/snacks/drinks etc. and invite DFB alum on some shows too (very fitting)
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure looks fantastic. The animatronics are spectacular and the theming looks great. The queue is so well done; it really brings everything to life and creates such an immersive environment. My favorite part of the queue is the military memorabilia from Tiana’s father. We definitely need to see Quincy and Emma make the Gumbo. Hooray for no more walls in Epcot! The drone show looks amazing! I can’t wait to experience it all next month.
Okay, I obviously haven't been on the attaction. But from what I've seen, I'm not a big fan of the story. There is no drama! It just looks happy all the way. Not a great replacement for the Spash Mountain story.

Finally, someone has an HONEST comment! I was really disappointed that their review of the ride was what they knew Disney would want to hear instead of how they really felt. Also really offensive how it takes place in the salt mines where slaves were worked to death. Nice touch

The animatronics look great. However, the story and lack of tension is a mismatch with the ride system and ride layout. It would make a good Fantasyland attraction though.
The animatronics themselves are better . But splash mountain has a much better storyline.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for this ride but, I don’t understand why imagineers insist on writing a new story for this kind of thing. Just make it like the movie. We already love it the way it is.

I love both of your positive outlooks and attention to detail in the ride. I've seen a few reviews that have nitpicked the ride as not being creative based off of old details still left from the original Splash Mountain. I think leaving the nods gives a bit of a nostalgia piece.

Make the Gumbo (and tell DFB Cassie to stop crashing scenes! Not really. We love DFBCassie. The world needs more Cassie) plus MAKE THE GUMBO!

I love princess and the frog so freaking much but I know I’m not going to be able to go for like another 2-3 years and I really hope they still have cute plushies (and mini book bags) when I eventually get to go

Wow shows more of the line and Epcot than the ride. When the ride is shown it’s sped up to fill the dead space. The fact Tiana didn’t get a full dedicated video tells me a lot.

I'm confused. It's "Tiana's Foods" as in it's "hers"...but then says: "employee-owned"? Who's company is it supposed to be? So, we are looking for a missing "spice" on the historic Avery Island salt mine? No,..no,..we are actually looking for a "musician" for the band instead in that salt mine? We then get shrunk down by voodoo that we can't talk about...to help us find this animal musician? No, wait!... the last song said we found the SPICE we were looking for in the salt mine....and YOU were the missing ingredient all along? What happened to that musician we were looking for? This thing was soooo half-baked and NOT very well thought out!

Do you think that the NAACP who WORKED with Tony Baxter on Splash Mountain are racist? 99% of the people that say Song of the South was racist...have never even seen the movie. They simply say it is racist because they believe they are "supposed" to say it was. James Basket was the first black actor to win and Oscar for his work on that movie. His family even today is very proud of him and even they say the movie was not racist. Stop repeating things you are just told to believe. There was NOTHING racist about the ride.

I think the new ride is great! And Splash is trash.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure is a cheap Rain Forest Cafe and it's not as good as Mission Breakout in Disney's California Adventure and it doesn't follow the plot of the 2009 Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog and it's a bad expansion plot because it's too short and it's not a very good story for the attraction. Other than that, Disney erased history on a classic attraction in both parks in the United States and they made a lot of Disney Park guest unhappy. They should have canceled the project and leave Splash Mountain alone.
How is Mission Breakout at all relevant?

Great post. Hope to see you both out at Disneyland again...but without the rain. Love your content. Regarding some of the critique on Tiana's Bayou - Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so here's mine. Splash Mountain was not a classic ride, nor was the storyline compelling. While the execution of a covered, indoor flume ride was well executed, the characters and animatronics were average at best. I only hopped on when the weather was hot and nothing else was available. I also find the folks critiquing an amusement park ride because it has a "poor" storyline to be ridiculous and disingenuous. Is the ride still fun? Does it look great day or night? Is the cue interesting and well-appointed? That's what visitors care about. Not once have I remarked to my wife while enjoying any Disney ride: "Gee honey, I 'd love to go on Radiator Springs Racers or Rise of the Resistance, but the storylines are really weak...I'm gonna have to sit this one out". Haters are working overtime to find fault with reimagining a ride so that it better reflects the diverse groups of folks that are visiting the parks. I think we can all guess why, just come out and say it.

So done with Disney, it's like they just gutted all of my favorite child hood memories and left me with zero sleep trying to get up in time to book lighting lanes. They wouldn't even let us walk BY this attraction because they had a media event the entire day . . .invited guests taking pictures and riding an attraction that paying guests weren't allowed to ride. I'm going to universal next year. Highly doubt I'll ever be back to the "Most expensive place on earth"
It doesn't officially open until the end of the month. All new rides go through the media dog and pony show before the official opening. They can work out the bugs and get pre-opening feedback, etc.
