Sonic Mania Plus arrives July 17th! Special thanks to Nathan Barnatt for joining us in this 90's inspired twist on a classic SEGA commercial!

I think this was created to take a jab at gaming critics and those who put Sonic Mania Plus down and say it's not a good game.
It's good to see Sega pointing out *actual* flaws in gaming rather than promoting "blast processing." Heck, it's good to see a company like this have the guts to go against an entire gaming genre. Specifically the cookie-cutter FPS games with $60 price tags and about $500 DLC (not including lootcrates). It's ridiculous.
@rerunturbografx Not exactly. Genesis was realy worse than the SNES in hardware, but Sega had a master programmer on their hands. The guy created an algorithm that extracted every single bit of power of the console. Nintendo had brute power but Sega had optimization.

Yeah, I totally remember watching that old commercial with "Sonic The Hedgehog" being compared to "Super Mario World", and it was really hard for me to decide which of those two games I liked most because they were both awesome and fun to play...and they still are! :D

Don't worry like 06 and Boom, Forces will eventually just become some dead meme that they will poke fun at from time to time. Sonic forces and modern sonic is already much get everything,what they need is just sequel with brand new title like when they did with unleashed to color to generation and so on.they not really need to sonic forces plus,even they already make other dlc. But in mania almost all of that stage is just recreation from pervious game thats why not much new other than boss fight,emerald hunt, and 4 stages,ending in mania is cliffhanger too if you get true ending because forces thing,they need proper ending for mania thats why sega made sonic mania plus to make that i think,well that my opinion though.

3D Blast was the only game to use that sound sample. It was used exclusively in their TV ads until then. Love the 3D Blast reference though. Such an overlooked gem.
Surprisingly it got a "Director's Cut" edition last year from the main programmer, Jon Burton itself! And it is awesome!

I did, although it wasn't on my first viewing of this I'll admit. A few days later, however, I did notice it. Just now, I decided to check the comments to see who else mentioned that. So far, yours is the only comment I noticed that mentions it. I'm sure SEGA put this funny Easter Egg in as they knew no one would trade in their new console for only five dollars.
Earlier this year, I won a Collector's Edition of Sonic Mania from Dave & Busters, but since I already had two of these, my plan was to trade it in to Back in the Game. They gave me like $45 for it. This place? They probably would've given me a nickel for it at the most.
