I'd say if annie never stood out to them in the beginning of the show (so her face wasn't imprinted in their memory yet) And if they're watching an episode a week or something close to that. Then I can get that. For example I think when I first watched I binged the show and I STILL though the female titan was maybe armins mother or sister or something. (Because Annie spared armin and the scene where she was looking at him while pulling his hood off was very long and It made me feel there was maybe emotion there (which there was but in a different way) So in hindsight I recognize it was blatantly obvious, but I get not seeing it until the episode comes in that focuses on her. What was blatantly obvious to me is something that was actually less obvious to others, and that was that the titan was eren in the very beginning of the show. I had no idea how eren was a titan but I knew he was that titan.
