Kids program is fire at AOJ- Hit Squad will be back stronger in 2020. Congrats to Jonatha Alves on getting his Black Belt after his win at Pans. Mad respect for that guy. Tainan Dalpra, Allesandro, Mateous, Liam and Zach will come back harder. Tainan was robbed of the gold- he clearly won that.
I listened to a podcast with the Mendes brothers. Motus V with Nick the tooth. They definitely have a different way of approaching the gym and learning dynamics. I respect it.
caglar tunca yes no need to get everyones skin infected over stupid superstitions. No room for that at one of the best gyms in the US... and yet they are extremely successful And seem to still retain knowledge... crazy.
The biggest is probably atos and there's no way to measure the smallest. There are gyms in alaska that are ran by blue belts that have 3 students. Hard to say.
Agreed I dont feel the karisma with gui as i feel it when rafa is doing the class. Its what i see through my computer, but thats the vibes what i feel right now.
If you have trained there you will know that Rafa is the fun loving, chill Professor and Gi is a hard hitting, no BS guy. I think history has already proven that you need a little of both. I don't like the white mats though.
I've met a few people from this gym. Most of them are a bunch of gate guarding weirdos when it comes to jiu jitsu. Basically, if you don't train with them you're nobody. That's how they think. I'll never set foot in here and that's just based on interactions with their students.
lol this is what the "results above all" mentality looks like... before they even understand what jiu-jitsu is they know how to score advantages and how to win by an inch... shit's crazy...
@@styrofoamsoldier You are right. The thing is that I've been around for a while... I've trained for a while, I've competed in a few international competitions, I've worked for IBFFJ and I know this academy for quite some time. What I said in my comment and my knowledge in this matter doesn't come from a 15minute video from Flograppling.
@@fredericopereira6444 Fair enough, so if winning is all that matters in the end (for competitive gyms and people anyways), shouldn't we strive for it in all legal manners possible? Furthermore, I don't have first hand experience of AoJ, but I'd reckon none of their competitors "know how to score an advantage before they understand jiu jitsu". Seems kind of hyperbolic don't you think?
@@styrofoamsoldier Well that is the reality tho... that's why I think this is crazy... I also have been seeing quite a few videos posted by referees saying how this "winning at all cost" affects them... all the BJJ powerhouses want is to win, win, win... more students... more fame... more money... it's becoming harder and harder to be just an average practitioner with a 9 to 5 job and a family to take care of... you can already see white belts who are full time athletes with full sponsorship deals and whatnot... I guess that's the evolution of the sport anyway...
You really have to minimize the amount you share your personal opinions. Awesome content but you dont represent jiujitsu very well, would be cool to see a more diverse team rather then a couple white guys. And maybe a black belt on there? I mean yall wash your belts, thats #1 rule in the book..come on
@@johnl6075, yeahhh true only a decade or so..only grew up with the sport through teen years and into my current mid twenties but yeah not that long go wash your belt my dude, i heard its good for the knowledge ;)
i love this series, hope it is a permanent annual series

Right? How many Gyms look this pretty?........... This is like every Gym owner's dream
Looks like a great gym, kind of jealous, California has a plethora of amazing gyms to choose from!

Nice series. It's cool to see all these Brazilians spreading BJJ all over the world.
Failure is key to success a true champion overcomes more adversity, AOJ damn good mental training classy School !!! 😎😈🤙👍🏼💪🏽

Mendes: do Brasil para o mundo!!
Guys please!!! Clean your lens and camera sensor! There are spots in almost every one of your videos!
Look closely, the spots move around quite a lot. Probably a last minute filter for the reflections due to all that white around.
How many times does someone fall off the mats?
Mendes Bros The Best 👏👏👏👏
The first time I've seen 0 dislikes on a UA-cam video.
Thanks, FloGrappling! For the great jiu jitsu content

It's probably sensor dust and not the lens. Or it's both.

what a awkward gym
Gui Mendes saying 5 okays per sentence.
I attented a seminar of him but i had forgotten how many okays he says until that video.
The seminar was ok then...

yikes no one is high on the mats, too sterile. Apple store...
Gorgeous gym but way too crowded yikes
Not sure if serious or if I just go to a super crowded gym lol
Institutionalized looking gym and aura, feel like they should be rolling in straight jackets...
first, and second view teehee
Ok? Ok.
I dont like gyms where the 14 year old kids could physically kick my ass

I don't see how the video would show that. All I see is dedicated people training to win, and these guys don't train to win by an advantage.
