AOJ has always been the best looking BJJ gyms. It’s like a true studio. I imagine training there you’d feel part of something special.

Considering how often they train, I can understand why they will allow other colors than white lol I cant train for like 3 months without my white gi starting to fade in an off-white. They must be changing Gi's like underwear over there!

The mats have subflooring it's raised because of the level of padding underneath the mats. You can do high intensity throws and takedown without getting injured

I’ve been training there since opening and have not seen anyone fall off the mats. I think it forces spacial awareness. My opinion: If you’re finding yourself off the mat, you/your partner are out of control.

300 a month... for what?!? To bad the bros went so hard for the money/fame and not the sport. The most expensive school in the world and no Brazilian kids project in their home town. Lets you know exactly who your dealing with.
Those concrete floors can be dangerous if someone falls off and hits their head on it. It's a nice space but not very practical IMO. I wish you guys much success though.
I don't get it, when I made my gym I made everything around padded (walls) with same level of the floor. This mat is quite small and looks dangerous for me. Nobody makes their gym look like this because it is impractical.
Make the time and go visit AOJ ... see it in person ... before making judgement ... be open to what you find

Mendes brothers are legends. But everything in the school looks too strict and more like hospital not a hotel. Faceless people in same uniform.
