That shipping cost is a killer...I highly recommend if you are on budget but want a solid deadlift bar to shop the Rogue Boneyard from time to time, you can get a bare steel Rogue Deadlift bar for 195$ plus shipping. That's about as good as it gets in terms of value and we all know Rogue Boneyard is still good quality.
I do agree if just wanting the best bang for the buck the boneyard is hard to beat. Some people would rather not have cosmetic defects, or want the warranty, so I think this would be the next best option. On a side note you can get this bar from the Bells of Steel US site w/free shipping.
Great review bud, can always count on your genuine opinion on a product. A side note about the corrosion resistance of the bar...the bar is made of chromium alloy steel, which played a role in me purchasing the bar. Here's some info on chromium alloy from Google. "One of chromium's most important properties is its self passivation. While it is stable in air, chromium will oxidize to form a thin layer that acts as a protective coating to prevent further corrosion." "Chromium is a lightweight blue-silvery white metal. ... Thanks to its very high corrosion resistance against many different acids and bases as well as hot gases, chromium is a popular material for all types of protective coating."
Okay, so not only am I not going to stay big but now I'm not allowed to stay classy either? This is extremely frustrating, bring back the old Brandon Campbell.
Eric Altenburg Yeah, Brandon. I know you were trying to renew & redefine your channel, changing the name, & steering away from the bodybuilding-aspect you used to promote. But why is saying “stay big”, “stay classy”, that touchy with you? The closing phrase you’ve been using lately “catch you next video” is actually very cheesy & lame, sorry to break it to you that way. I’m guessing there is some kind of copyright or youtube/sponsor guidelines deterring you from saying the phrase you used to say. Go back to your old stay big stay classy or even come up with a new phrase; but “catch you next video” seems very bleh ...
Very interesting. I like the fact that new companies are making products that (when considering overall value and quality) are comparable to big name brands. I think, after some time, this will lead to a major shift in the overall market of fitness equipment where companies such as Rogue and Elite will have no choice but to make products at the same price point.
Not happening. Rogue, Elite FTS, et. al. are premium products from an earned reputation. Their prices will stay consistent. It's like saying Mercedes Benz will lower their prices to compete with Hyundai because Hyundai makes some nicer sedans. Not happening.
@@bmstylee that's a bad comparison cause both those car companies make subpar cars that are prone to frequent repair needs. Honda and Lexus might be a better comparison my homie
I have one of the conventional deadlift bars from Strongarm Sport. The only problem I have had is that the snap rings do break off from the bars hitting the rubber mat with 400-500 lb.
Checked out the Strong Arm Sport website. Right now you can get their regular power bar for 197. And their combo rack and calibrated plate sets are super competitively priced.
Came across Strongarm based off your Buffalo bar review. I plan on picking that bar up since it's now 32mm. Looks like I might have to also pick this deadlift bar up as well to add to my garage gym.
How does it hold up after a year? Any rust? I’m debating this one vs texas DL bar black zinc. I’m in Canada so price difference is significant about 200$ with shipping/customs.
Great video as always Brandon! Once I get my damn nursing boards out of the way I’ll actually be able to afford some of these new goodies for my home gym 😭😭😭😭
I think the shaft has that extra inch because the sleeves on this bar are only 15.5”. I have one coming in hopefully having sleeves an inch shorter than my power bar won’t really be an issue with fitting weight on it. Might have to ditch my set of bumpers when deadlifting now lol
The sumo bar is a great idea! If my knee ever heals I will switch back to sumo and buy this bar lol. Of course, I need a basement or a garage first. =)
Hey Chief, I returned to lifting after 3 1/2 years. I only have 3 days a week to lift, 2 days I wrestle, 2 days rest. I'm mainly aiming for hypertrophy (strength isn't really my goal anymore, just mass). I used to use your program years ago and liked it but my 3 day routine won't let me anymore. Got any ideas on programs? Thanks for all the years on advice man/sorry for asking, I hate doing that. Cheers
Depends on what level of lifter you'd consider yourself but prob something that would allow you for 3 full body days, or a upper lower and just bridge it week to week.
@@BasementBrandon i just ordered the strong arm. It's gotta be flexier than a regular bar. And it's the only one with sumo knurling.... pretty sweet !!
I don't own one, which is why I haven't done one, but I have used one. It's a well built bar but I think you'll find it to be a bit more stiff than a Texas DL bar.
I just checked their page. The bar is 345 which is more than a Texas dl bar and about the same as an Ohio dl bar Was hoping this would come in at a value buy vs the main dogs
@@MrBOOM546 Ohio has steel manufacturing, so they source their's locally. Rogue has their own in-house production facility where they melt the steel to make the equipment. I understand his opinion of buying American only but at least Canada isnt China lol

Haha sorry dude
I usually take the drawstring out. Everyone wins!!
Huh, I've never seen a sumo specific deadlift bar. That is actually pretty cool.

This thing is like $300 cheaper than any other deadlift bar shipped to Canada.

Hey Brandon, great video once again. Where can we get your t shirts and stuff from, I can't seem to find the link..?
Hey Ricardo! Thanks! Not selling any actually!
Am I the only one who's extremely bothered by how uneven the strings of his sweatshirt are?
I wasn't.....

I didn’t notice until you told me and now I can’t unsee it 😭

Have you considered buying Cambered attachments to be able to OHP?
You troll
I talked about this in my OHP video!
Question for you Brandon (and others who have used this bar), how does the whip compare to a Texas DL bar?
Very similar in my use.

They can be solid bars depending on the run. Prices have gone up though so not as good of a bargain.
@@BasementBrandon yeah still compared to many others they still seem like a good price no?
It can be, but I'd try to find someone who's bought recently to make sure they have good batches in.
Do you still use this bar? Also, this versus ISF? Thanks!
I gave it to a friend, but it was a solid bar, as is the ISF! I think I'd just get whichever one was cheapest shipped to me.

Is it a good idea to wear a rehband back support and at the same time wear a sbd belt over it? I noticed a lot of strongman do it.
