I got the 3 piece Husky a few days ago. Then I watched this video and went straight back to Home D and got the 2 drawer module. I absolutely love it. Thanks for taking the time to post this! 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm a plumber who has been in the industry since 1998. I have been using the Ridgid system and I am very happy with their storage products. I used to have the Milwaukee system and I had the clear lids crack easier than the Ridgid boxes.
I have Dewalt and Milwaukee power tools, Ryobi 40v outdoor tools, the Dewalt Tough System 2.0 tool boxes, I sometimes use my brother in-law's Ryobi 18v power tools because there are some tools Ryobi makes that the bigger names do not have. This Husky drawer system is something I'm looking for. Costs lesser than the Dewalt and Milwaukee drawer piece and can be expanded to hold regular hand tools. I like the way you described how you use the drawer, your tools and what to expect when in a rush. I work by myself on the slower end at my worksites. Thank you very much for this video.
Great review of the drawers box. Husky Connect overall is well thought out, practical AND economical! Especially useful: the $15 caddies WITHOUT lids. Cheap to add more as you require. I have ten of them! They stack nice. And who needs lids . . . when you're stacking everything? Lids are redundant and just get in the way. Besides. . . when you're looking for a tool or replacing them at the end of a job or workday, no need to fuss with lids.
You make a great point. When I set up at a job sight I unstack all my boxes and lay out all my caddies. Each caddy, I load with a tool and it’s attachments. Super accessible and saves me time!
Good video looks like a bang for the buck works for all general use for the price can’t go wrong I’ve got the rolling storage boxes love them got them for the wife to put holiday stuff in now have them on my deck to keep grilling stuff in and stays out in all the weather and everything stays dry 👍👍👍
Husky connect is a great set. The only thing that bothers me is that they dont really have a way to lock everything up- but not a deal breaker. Also There is nothing wrong with Ryobi tools, i have had them all. I mostly have Milwaukee now but have about four different Ryobi products and they work great.
I don't own any Ryobi tools, but i have given them as gifts and I have used them and your right nothing at all wrong with them. People sure love too pick on them tho
I must say that I really like this system over my couple of makpac boxes. Last year I got the 3 piece set and the larger cantilever toolbox(keter branded) . The amount of quality and features for the price is hard to beat, and considering that keter also makes the packout system amongst others in Israel gives me some reassurance as far as quality goes. As a home owner/DIYer I definitely won't be throwing stuff around and hope to get some good years out of it. I'm very interested in this drawer module, the guides seem to be good. I think it will work very well matched with the cantilever box.
I just bought these few days ago and really like the quality, I originally bought some versa stack many but never got around installing them in vehicle, i may acquire more of these and leave the versa for home use. I like the locking system better and locking system it definitely lately feels sturdier.
I got two of the Versastacks. I like them but prolly should have got Huskys. The Huskys are bigger and a little deeper for a bit less money. Drawers help a lot to keep track of the small stuff that always filters to the bottom of big boxes.
Hey thanks for pointing these drawers out. I’ve been looking for some affordable options in drawers. Both Milwaukee pack out and DeWalt’s drawers are pricey. I’ve been holding out for rigid to make some, lots of guys in my area use their boxes, but I’ll see if these work. Thanks brother👊
Milwaukee Pack out sucks , bulky and heavy for going in and out , and up stairs. Also with the drawer units and canteliver you can work while they are stacked.
In some ways the Husky Connect system is superior to the Packout. The Connect caddy blows away the Packout tool tray at half the price and matches up perfectly in dimension to the drawers beneath where if you tried the same configuration with the Milwaukee product it looks awkward since they shrunk the footprint of their tool trays down by design, as if they try and shame you for cheapening out buying their topless containers. The Husky system also doesn't scream 'steal me' at a job site.
Great points regarding Packout. I keep expanding my kit one caddy at a time and it’s working out nicely for me. And you are right, ‘Husky’ and ‘Ryobi’ seem to fly under the radar of thieves. Thanks you for watching and commenting.
Great review brother. Good to see a review where the shit has already been used for a bit. How the hell can someone tell me if it’s a good box if they hadn’t had it roll around the truck for a while.
late response but i actually just returned my husky connects because of the issue where they keep unlatching whenever i would roll down or up the steps or even just picking them up out of my truck, i was afraid of them breaking as well because i bring my connects in and out of jobsites and they just werent holding up like i was expecting i bought the 3 stack an extra organizer and the drawers. Today i bought the dewalt tough system 2.0 and theyre exactly what i need so just a headsup for anyone wanting to save money and buy the husky connects
Thank you for sharing your experience. Shame they didn’t work out for you. They are still holding up for me, not flawless, but acceptable for me. Good luck with the Tough System!
Husky connect best bang for your buck. I bought 3 sets including the caddy. Glad they are finally adding to the system. I just ordered their mechanic drop-in trays. I have the DeWalt mechanic trays and box, but I'm into the connect system, DeWalt & Milwaukee are too much money for add-ons. You can order the middle box for connect for $30?
Let me know how you like the mechanic set. I’ve been thinking about picking one up but I’m holding out to see if they come out with it in the drawer system. Thanks for commenting!
@fartpoobox ohyeah sorry for the late response. Try looking this up at Home Depot website: Model# H270CONMTB Internet# 317717235 They have been unavailable for a long time but I’m hopeful it will come back in stock. Good luck
I have since phased out of the yellow totes and I carry only connect boxes now. It just works out better for stacking and overall. But the totes are clutch in many situations. Thanks for commenting.
And it’s a big problem. I know a tradesman that got two of his Packout boxes taken. It definitely draws unwanted attention. I don’t let it deter me though. I keep my Head on a swivel, faith in God, and one in the pipe, always. Good luck!
I wouldn’t trust it in anything more than a medium rain for a few minutes. Although the box lids have a lip, there is no rubber seal, so water and dust WILL make its way in. The drawers do not have much of an overhang to keep water out either. Check out this video, he does a nice job water testing and reviewing the base unit. ua-cam.com/video/Ynh21v-Cuvk/v-deo.html
These dividers came with the unit. But it only came with enough to fully divide one drawer not both. As far as I know, Husky does not sell them separately either. As a work around, (and only because I had some extras) I’ve noticed that the small grey bins that come with the cantilever unit fit in these drawers pretty well. There may be some 3d printed options out there. If I come across any I’ll give an update. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers
That’s a good question. I think they are trying to push their Tradestack system which is sort of backwards compatible with VersaStack. I’m due for a Lowe’s run this week and I’ll check it out.
@@AleCatGarage Thanks for replying! I couldn't see anything at all jamming the drawer slides. In the end I figured out that I could tilt the whole box backwards and the slides would un-stick.

Thanks for your comment. I find anything with clear plastic as a lid just doesn’t hold up as well. I’m glad the Ridgid stuff is working out for you.
Wow! I didn't even know husky had this system! I have a Husky roller bin only. Thanks!
Thank you! Would love to hear what you think of it if you get it.

Thank you! Pack out is a great system, no doubt. When my budget allows I would upgrade to it. Good luck.
Let me just say.. EVERYONE is a pack out system person lol. We just can’t afford that ish. GGs
I could afford packout
That’s a cool drawer unit. 👍

You know you can buy like the Husky 230 piece mechanic's tool set in connect tray's and they lock right into the pack.
💯

Hart and Husky both are the same comapny: Keter - original brand. Keter making Packout for Milwaukee, Tough System for Dewalt(tstak too)
Great video and helpful
I would like to see you make one a double deep drawer like you did with the other husky totes.
Thanks for that feedback. I’ll look into this.

where is the deep drawer, I would get a whole bunch if there was a deep drawer and even an extra deep drawer option

How waterproof are these boxes? Would they be ok if left in the rain? I really like the drawer size for hand tools. Thanks for the update!

That looks like a nice system. But, I'm here for the "BUT THE (OTHER SYSTEM) IS BETTER!!" comments. Haha.
Welcome to the comment section! Let’s break out the popcorn. Lol.
I have the dewalt,3 Ridgids, packout and the Husky. The Husky is a cool setuo and i like it,The Dewalt the first version is my least favorite
Thanks for commenting. I’ve heard that a lot about the first Dewalt system. Pack out is great but a bit to pricey for me. Thanks again!

My local Lowe’s had one VersaStack base box in stock. Lots I’ve inventory in the Tradestack system however. 👍🏼
What do you do when the drawer is stuck open?
You mean stuck open cause something is in the bottom drawer jamming it? The drawers are on removable sliders
@@AleCatGarage Thanks for replying! I couldn't see anything at all jamming the drawer slides. In the end I figured out that I could tilt the whole box backwards and the slides would un-stick.
Anybody think about cutting a while through the first one and make it a one big one
