Great work guys! Read a comment about the production quality and I totally agree; Awesome job! Thanks! Those guys are often forgotten. Can't wait for the next season, but in the meanwhile I'll re-watch last year
Onscreen only shows a small part of what happens on race day. You would be happy to know that both of them are class acts, and not only great competitors, but were also very helpful and supportive to their fellow pilots.
DR1 Racing “class acts” may be a bit of a stretch. Regardless, these are just boys and wet behind the ears don’t forget and particularly with Vanover, show the arrogance of immaturity. Spot him a PR self-help webcast for his sake
I'll agree that Vanover's move for matchfixing is complete trash and I'm not watching the end of this race. very distasteful. But, I don't think Minchan understood exactly what Vanover was saying just a minute before the race. maybe if DR1 is still doing such events, they won't do a 2v2 to avoid such conflict of interests. Just do free for all, 4 drones and 4 teams, because there is no professional racing organization that would permit match fixing and clearly some of your racers have no moral compass. If I were nexxblades, I'd just quit your tourney, take a stand for future races and demand revisions to your rulebook and systems.
Dosen't seem unsportsman-like to say everyone finish. Its natural to want to take down whoever is at the top. Good races, looks like a ton of fun. Wish my whoop was this fast lol
Is this event going to be again in 2019 maybe? Im from slovenia and i didnt have a clue that this is going on. Do you have calendar for this year races? I would like to watch the race :)
Flight one and Uvify should have been docked points for sand bagging a race. That was not a good move for fans made for a sub par race. Big thumbs down.
@@FoxurFPV just because its "boring" doesnt mean you should lap it one by one. Regardless, its stunning how DR1 did not pinalise both teams if they want drone racing to be taken seriously espically after the effort taken by the whole crew.
@@FoxurFPV agree. I'm glad that right away the next race it was made a point that it was now considered wrong and they would be kicked out if they did something like that again.
A lot of consideration went into this moment of the race. This is something that impacts many sports, where a team strategically acts in a way to impact their standings, or perhaps how they seed into a draft (NBA, NFL). We have adopted rules for this going forward, but since this element was not technically in the rule book for the series, we did not feel that arbitrarily inserting it would be the appropriate action.
@@DR1Racing These commenters are idiots. In race one if one team came in last every time they woulda ended up in first place in the end without crashes. It's not the racers fault, it's GREAT strategy, if anything it might be the way the races are set up.
what HD cameras are used on the quads? they dont seem like the true video feed coming from the goggles. and it doesnt seem that they are carrying a gopro. also, it is recorded in real time as we see it.
Aren't they carrying GoPro Sessions? If I'm not mistaken, GoPros (dunno if it's all their cameras or just some models), got a WiFi downlink or something of the sort, too much lag to actually fly from, but I would guess it could work for catching live-ish feeds from a race if the signal is strong enough and there is not much compression on the feed (dunno if that's the case).
@@tiagotiagot thanks for the reply bro and actually I did some research on it. So basically they carry gopros your right but it's not live. They race, gather all the footy and then narrate each lap/race in post production. I thought it was live too but not the case. It would be cool to see actual live video feed.
What they did was within the rules so you can't complain. It's call strategy. If the strategy doesn't work in your favor you can just call it unsportsman... Who decides what is and isn't unsportsman like?
Ok actual collusion shouldn't be allowed. 1 pilot from each team flying each race would avoid shit like that. But if it's not against th rules then noone can say damn thing. It's a great strategy. And TBH watching that team get all pissed about it was one of the entertainment highpoints of this series so far LOL it was hilarious.
I don't understand how these races are set up. There are 4 teams yet each race only utilizes 2 teams..... It should be one pilot from each team, and 4th place should get you only 1 point or even 0. I mean if one team comes in last place every time going as slow and precise as possible they'd still be extremely competitive for one. And second, if one team of 2 crashes right away it would be stupid for the remaining team to push or even try racing one another. At that point if I were them I'd mozy along the rest of the race making 100% sure i don't crash. The way these races are set up are not intuitive and lack common sense. It might even make sense to have 1 from each team race at once, and if one crashes a fellow teammate can then enter the race, just in case 3 pilots crash early. IDK bout this last one though gotta think about it more. But the point of this is to get the audience excited, and a 1 person race isn't exciting lol. Maybe allow the pilots to use 2 different drones for each race in case of crash.
sandbagging and cooperating with another team like that is seriously frowned on in every real racing forum I've been involved in full size and r'/c.....these punks would've been reprimanded at the least if not banned entirely from my associated racing leagues..bad sportsmanship ...good luck promoting DR1 with that going on...
"im not too pissed about them teaming..." immediately walks away from mic and camera in pissed off manner LOL
Excellent coverage! Thanks!

Minchan and Vanover may be the fastest pilots, but they have a long way to go in terms of sportsmanship

Super fun to watch. Like how your editing all this amazing footage!

No crash flip (turtle) mode?
I still don't know how FPV feed is so good?
It's not the feed you are seeing is the GoPro footage
The footage is from the GoPros mounted on the cameras, and not a live feed.
You’re seeing digital, not analog
Are they not going to show the racers times??
Willing to bet that those batteries last one flight and one flight only
Yay Bryce won!!!

What top pilots in the world..? do you even know who they are..? what a joke...
Which part is a joke? Not sure we are understanding your view?
Just because they haven't spend much time advertising themselves, it doesn't mean they don't got the skill.
