Akhmed Magomedovich Tazhudinov would be another HUGE debut. Beat Snyder and Sadulaev back to back aged 20 at the world championships, then coasted to gold there and took Olympic gold next year, apparently without breaking a sweat.
Like how do you prep for that ankle drop misdirection? Hard to keep your ankles clean against him. Remarkable. Ono reminds me of Sakuraba doing things people are not used to and faster than they think is possible.
I felt the exact same as ben, watching u20, his first match i told my son hes the best guy ive seen in awhile....then comes out and does this at sr worlds....he only weighs 63kg and doesnr cut any weight.....
Exactly and he did it at an Olympic weight which means so much more. These non Olympic weights are usually insanely watered down with only 2 or 3 guys that have a shot. I’d like to see Taz wrestle a healthy Tank but there’s no way Ono can be ranked ahead of either of them. He damn sure can’t be ranked above Kiyooka who won a gold medal at the toughest Olympic weight dominantly. He went through all the top guys in the world. Oh and he teched Ono to make the team lol.
This headline is ridiculous. Yes he looked great but 61kg is weak for one. Secondly he didn’t even run through Blaze a month or so ago. Calling him the best wrestler on the planet is insane. Especially with two of the guys the tank had to go through. Plus Sidakov and the big 97kg Russian transfer.
I live in Japan (42 years, retired prof.). His name is pronounced "Masa nose kay". And as the Japanese custom is to introduce people by family name first, riddle ... What does a non-Japanese say when they draw him in the first bracket of a tournament? ... "Oh no! Masanosuke!" 😂 What is extra amazing is that he is only a month into recovering from a broken leg, so he had to rely on drags, no shooting. Gonna be interesting to see him at full strength.
blaze was overmatched at u20. but what's crazy is takedowns were 1 each and blaze never got turned. nobody took ono down and everyone got turned at seniors.
@@DBRooper I rewatched the match, and Blaze had no answer for Ono's power and speed, but did extremely well to hold him to just single points with only the one takedown. Ono did dial it back in the second period when he knew that he had won unless Blaze could penetrate his defence, which was not possible.
Jesus Christ Kiyooka beat this kid 10-0 but because of the always thin 61kg bracket he’s the best in the world?!?! Ridiculous. 61kg has always been weak which is why we have gotten silvers and a gold out of it with fix and Vito recently. The best Russian at this weight moved up to 65kg to try and make the Olympic team. It was a three man bracket. The Russian was hurt, Vito said he literally trained for just a month and there was Ono. Ono is exciting no doubt about that but this is one of the dumber things Askren has said and he makes a living on dating dumb shit (it’s just usually not about wrestling).
I have the same sentiment. Already released Video #1 of 3 on him. Excited to make the next two
You’re the man love your videos
@ thank you. I appreciate it
EYG goat!
Yo bro can you make videos on defense or folkstyle scrambling
Ono said he had a broken bone and couldn't even wrestle in preparation for worlds! He said he couldn't really shoot due to the pain! Wow
Dude looked like he was in the matrix out there defying gravity lol
Higuchi, Kiyooka, Ono, Otoguro, Takahashi. They're absurd.
Takatani?
@@rootsgrassusa Him too
Masanosuke Ono ..His wrestling skills aside ...He has such a humble likeable personality
Tazhudinov was very impressive 2 years ago
So impressive. He is such a joy to watch. He can bring fans to the sport! So much film to study trying to understand it all.

2024 has been the year of the land of the rising sun.
He’s a rare one! Love watching him
Last year Tazhudiov has an insane debut
Speed, motion and arrack rate are out of this world, so confident! GOAT watch.
He's crazy good!

Source on the weight? Seemed like he was cutting a good bit on his instagram night before finals
During his interview with Flowrestling he states 62-63 walking weight.
@@brando605 just saw that thank you and my apologies to Bennyworms for questioning your claim
Tazhudinov teched Snyder, blew thru sadulaev and pinned or etched everyone at first world tournament
Ono has a better style IMO...unstoppable takedowns, crazy scrambles, super fast

Never forget Shane Sparks debut
Cejudo? Gable Steveson? And Ono is amazing. Said he broke his foot 1 month ago and couldn't train either lol
I know I know ! I’m tried making my case for this to my coach today. Glad I’m not alone!!😅
EarnYourGoldMedal has a nice video on his snap ankle pick technique
Different type of wrestler but Kyle Snyder had a pretty good debut at Senior worlds...
Kyle Snyder seems to get left out of so many discussions like this. It's unreal😂.
Masanasuke and Sadulov are best in the world
Someone forgot about Tazudinov last year(or was that not his senior debut? I certianly didn't know about him)
Amouzad Kalili from Iran
The kids a FREAK!
We need to start studying Japanese wrestling
And to top it off he has that Japanese baby face smiling at you after he whoops your arse!😅😅😅

The bracket had Uguev and Vito. It was a legit championship and he was dominant
61KG is not weak with a former Olympic champ and a defending world champ in it.
Think he can make 57kg. Vs Spencer?
Yeah Sadulaev skipped right over juniors. Went from cadet world champ to senior world champ.

I thought that Marcus Blaze was overrated after his loss to Ono. Sorry Marcus, I was wrong.

Tajudinov was equally as impressive 2 years ago.

So fast
But can he take down Giorgio?
I was just watching ono videos swear
Nobody gonna know if you don't come say it on Flo
Insane recency bias right here lol. Terrible take.
Kotaro kiyooka is better..he techs Ono in Olympic qualifiers
