- The Wrestler, a film that came out in 2008, tugged on a lot of heartstrings as it showed viewers the hardship of being a "washed up" wrestling legend. Hulk Hogan claimed that he was originally offered the lead role of Randy the Ram instead of Mickey Rourke. The director Darren Aronofsky had to publicly call Hogan a liar.

Hogan was too busy playing bass for Metallica at the time
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fr? 😅
Great fuckin movie.Better than Iron claw, but not as sad as iron claw.
Hogan said he pinned Samson, Moses was the ref and Adam was the promoter.
HANDS UP TO NECRO BUTCHER IN THIS ONE
It's probably my favorite Hulk Hogan lie.
Am i the only one that watched this and hated it? It was like watching beyond the mat but made into a movie instead of a doc?
Rasslin fan but didn't care for it. Lying hulk😂
This role was masterfully played by Mickey.
I am so shocked that Chump Hogan is a liar.
prolly the one thing micci and nicc would handle the exact same way , besides a 8 ball of pure bolivian marchin powder
Hmmm
Damn great movie
Mickey Rourke is great in The Wrestler. Nobody else could play Randy "The Ram" Robinson. He should've won the Oscar for this and the movie should've got the Oscar for Best Picture
Plus Marisa Tomei. Like holy shit childhood dreams brought forth.
@koDaffi I've had a crush on Marisa Tomei since the first season of A Different World where she played Denise's roommate
Hulk Hogan is the biggest liar in that whole business.
The director confirmed that the script number was sent to Hogan a number of times. That number being zero. Lol.
Suprised Hogan didn't say it didn't work for him.
he kinda did. it didnt work for him because he though (knew) he couldn't play the part well
@@JOBdOut The last part was a joke. It's the joke about Hogan not wanting to put people or anything that doesn't benefit him over.
That doesn't work for Hulk (speaking in the third person/ illeism) is a running joke about him.
Youre telling the joke to the guy who made the joke?
@JOBdOut Uh ok. Yet your reply to me didn't signal that. Hey you do you lol
Hogan will never let the truth get in the way of a good story
Damn good movie!
Great movie, I'm a big wrestling and movie ran and I loved this film. Mickey Rourke is seriously underrated and under appreciated. With the right material he's an incredible actor, he was phenomenal in Sin City.
I started watching wrestling in '78. took years to understand what was really going on.
no internet back then and the magazines were all kayfabe. finally growing up and
understanding pro wrestling this movie just worked for me and I loved it. including
***SPOILER WARNING*** the ambiguous ending mid move. did he survive?
I loved the movie and Mickey Rourke was did a superb job. Hogan playing the role of Randy "The Ram" would not have worked as he would change the script too many times to the point of scrapping it. Just saying
I can tell you right now Nicolas Cage was not the fit for that movie Rourke nailed it. Simply put Nicolas Cage has a different mannerism of speaking. Like he went to the will Shatner School of acting which is great for certain movies such as Gone in 60 Seconds. But would not fit this with his body type
It was a great film, Vince probably though it was going to be a porn film but realised it was a film about the truth if wrestling from an actual wrestler view. And how like most who helped Vinces company basically get swept off to the side once hes done with you
Hogan at the time refused because he was flying a F22 Raptor over a NFL match at the time
Cage would have been horrible.
Cage's best roles are in movies like god of war.
A suit with a twisted personality.
Anythime i see him do physical acting it's unbearable to watch😅
I will respectfully say Cage would have destroyed this film. A truly Oscar worthy movie it became
He was too busy wrestling 400 days a year flying back and forth through time zones. 😂
😂 He Didnt Deserve It Yea Cuz Hogan Is Such A Humble Guy 😂
Cage would’ve ruined the movie. Roark was perfect.
1) if you ask Hulk Hogan, I am sure he would tell you that he was offered the role of Thor in the avengers series
2) I would like to visit the Multiverse where Nicolas Cage played this role
Rebooted his career to disappear again. I liked the movie. I doubt I would have if the Hulkster was in it.
Hogan waz too busy leg dropping elvis back to life so they could make an album together
Great acting and movie, but again why does Hulk Hogan always lie so much?
Thats been the message ever since i started doing videos on him - accomplished more than nearly anyone could.. still makes up provable lies and bogus stories when the real ones would be legendary enough
Movie would have been trash if Hogan had done it..........
This video and it's title are TOO MANY LIES
Absolutely so glad that ROH was used in that great movie
cage would have fucked it up with that shitty overacting of his.
This movie was great, but very sad. Oh, and Hogan is an absolute joke brother🤣
Of course Vince would hate it, and of course Hogan would lie
I have to doubt if anyone would be interested in Cage as the wrestler…..
Marissa Tomei was hot in that movie and Rourke was great .
Him nd snoop lie about everything
Cage would of worked a tag team with The Killer Bees No Not the Bees 😁
Hogan is full of shat hes a terrible actor and this role was written for a actual actor
One of the best films if all time easily the best sports film hands down
Nick Cage would've been the shittier AEW version 😂
hogan tell so many lies, and he really believes what he says.
If Hogan had a dime for every time he told the truth he would still have more dimes than Barry Horowitz ever drew.
Hulk is such a liar.
Hogan at this point has been proven to be a habitual liar
Jericho lash it out lol for promo
Hogan ego is bigger than his lies
Hogan nothing but a joke at this point
Thats not going to work for me brother 😊
This movie tore me up too (let's hear it for daddy issues).
It was a good movie
Great movie. Sad but good
This movie was good
Great movie
Cage would have been awful in this
Don't know why people keep trying to get Nick Cage to do these kinds of movies. He was gonna be Superman at one point. How the F***???
It really depends on if he was going to ham it up or go sad and lethargic - the latter being what would work for this film
Great movie
Tonight. I’m going to put a sleeper hold on the Declaration of Independence
I can't imagine Cage in this, I literally can not visualize it
Great film
"I'm just like, you know, uh, uh, uh, broken DAOWWWNUH piece of meat, man, ya."
-Nick Cage in The Wrestler
The Wrestler is part of that small genre "Amazing films you can never watch again"
Really is. I loved the film but ive never been comfortable with the idea of re-watching it
Another movie similar, Man Down.
Don't think I could bear it..
Damnit the director had the chance to give us the funniest thing ever
There's a story that Piper saw it and it broke him badly
Absolutely GREAT movie!
Wrestling is stupid
Art is art. Everything is stupid. Who hurt you?
@@Tunafly my dad would beat me while watching Saturday morning superstars. He would beat me harder if I didn’t “get him over” I was 4. 🥺
@@markdenton3141 He did good.
Get lost!
