That was a joy to watch. I watched because I wanted to see how the Evaporust worked with an ultrsonic cleaner, but got quite the education with the rest of the restore. Nice job!
Man this is freaking fantastic!!! It's amazing how many things I looked over the years and said it's trash then tossed it in the garbage. You have inspired me!!!!
But you have to be real careful on thin rusted parts. If you’re not very careful with what you’re using as a blasting material, you can easily blow holes in the very thin rusted areas.
Such an awesome little truck. And it's a Jeep! Evap-o-rust ranks right up there, for me, with Sawz-All for "most accurately named" product. It does exactly what the name says.
That was the coolest restoration ever!!! That was cool to see how well the evaporust worked on that metal! You should do that cracked metal texture with another restoration, using a really nice red of emerald green! That would look cool! I really enjoyed the video!
Evapo-rust is the best I've seen and used in over 30 years of auto-body refinishing for removing rust! I LOVE the blue paint job! Awesome Restoration!Well done Mate!
Oh one more thing, in the winter months use it with year and let it soak for 12-24 hours to get the best results plus it helps to remove as much rust as possible to make it last longer.
Tim, thanks for share new technics refreshing the show and blowing up our brains. I will try to do something different next week with my Nylint Ford pickup. Well done buddy!
I had A lipo battery fire in my garage 6-7 years ago,not much fire damage but it got really hot in there and the fire dept. hosed everything down, and had a lot of smoke damage,to my hand tools ,Evaporust saved the day.I used it on all kinds of stuff ever since.I also have on of those ultrasonic cleaners,it works great.
TRG: Shows picture of sandblaster Everyone: yaaaaayyyyyy!! TRG: Lets restore it without the sandblast cabinet! Everyone: Nooooooooo!! 😂🤣 Great job, turned out awesome!
SWEEET 💘 the 🎥 you restored my favorite truck the jeep truck and painted it in my favorite color being blue though the illusion blue is a better shade this shade is cool too but great restoration using the evaporust that's a very good product I'd definitely will use this in the future
Cute results. But the sandblast is my favorite part. For me it’s so relaxing; every time I wish it lasts more time. Just saying my personal opinion. Thank you.
I thought when you pulled it out the first time, there was going to be nothing left but the wheels and windshield! lol It looked like it was complete rust. What a gorgeous paint job! Love that color!
Looks great, but you are going to have to work in the kids shouting “Yay! “ when you put the rusted parts in the digital sonic cleaner. Always enjoy your videos TRG! Keep up the great work. And greetings from Central Virginia in the US.
•Alright Tim! •Ahead of the curve again😉 •Awesome to watch the whole truck de~rust. •A tiny critique, tire shiner...that is it😃 •An awesome choice for the colour!
I like the textured look. If you don't want to do that all the time, the Evap O Rust might make your blast cabinet medium last longer since you're not having to take off so much rust.
Nice work..Ready for another generation of playtime.. How much are those ultrasonic cleaners.. I've seen them used quite a few times... Again very nice job..
What is the paint you used ? Where can I hunt down that type of paint. I am currently restoring a Kurt vice for my milling machine and the original paint looks very similar (different shade of blue, though). There is virtually no information on the paint, or it is no longer available. Keywords to plug into the search field would also help on my hunt. Search engines can be quirky. Sometimes you need exact wording, other times just being vaguely close gets you tons of information (my gambling luck tends to lean towards the former). Any help you can send my way would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Excellent video, excellent technique with Evaporust, nice result for the painting, but I would have liked to see the main frame in satin black, it looks more real I think! . Thank you again for your ideas always interesting to watch ...👌
I guess that goes to show that you don't have to use the sandblaster all the time for rust removal. I guess the heat from the ultrasonic cleaner mixed with the rust removing capabilities of Evapo-Rust really do come in handy. I like the cracked type powder coating. Unique. I also chuckled with your high pitched "Ungh" sound at 6:48 though lol!
I'm fairly sure that ultrasonic baths instructions say not to place anything on the floor of the bath. Suspend or place in a basket. Which is lower cost to run, blaster or bath with evaporust?
I've never seen someone let the evaporust.. evaporate fully. If you add distilled water to the tank will it become the same material or does the active chemicals evaporate along with the water base. I ask because a big selling point of evaporust is that you can re-use it, so I wonder if you can replace evaporated water and maintain much of the material.
Tim... that is fabulous! Love the paint. While I miss the kids “Yaying” for the blaster, seeing a different method is inspiring. So.... did you win the lottery? Seems like every video reveals another new piece of equipment. 😂
So are you and Hand Tool Rescue sponsored by Evaporust now? 😆 I thought I saw a lot of pitting after rust removal, but I guess the powder coat is thick enough to hide a lot of that? Bondo + sanding seems like a ton of work to deal with that problem to me... Love the look of the final paint job - looks amazing!
Not sure about him, but I am not sponsored. They have giving me a lot of free product, but no paid sponsorship. There was a lot of pitting, but between the primer and the textured paint, it smoothed really well
That was a joy to watch. I watched because I wanted to see how the Evaporust worked with an ultrsonic cleaner, but got quite the education with the rest of the restore. Nice job!
I do this too. You can save about 90% of the time this way.
Man this is freaking fantastic!!! It's amazing how many things I looked over the years and said it's trash then tossed it in the garbage. You have inspired me!!!!
This is a good option but I also find the blasting cabinet strangely satisfying. Love the final product.
Glad you like it!
That color change with the clear coat activator was mind blowing. Such a vibrant blue, love it
If is not filmed we'd never believe that's the same truck! Amazing!
That was the coolest restoration ever!!! That was cool to see how well the evaporust worked on that metal! You should do that cracked metal texture with another restoration, using a really nice red of emerald green! That would look cool! I really enjoyed the video!
Aww, I enjoy watching sand blasting. I find it relaxing for some reason. The blue paint job turned out awesome. Good job.
Thank you so much 🤗 The blast cabinet will definitely be in action in my next video
That blue paint job was magnificent!!!! I love it so much.
I truly love that color, and the design on it
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Your welcome
Great job man. Miss the children shouting yeah, but love to see Bob Ross (bless him) before the paint job
Excellent restore, Sir! Kudo with the Evaporust!
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Evapo-rust is the best I've seen and used in over 30 years of auto-body refinishing for removing rust! I LOVE the blue paint job!

I have one of my son's old trucks I keep in my workshop. I think I'll break out the Evaporust and clean it up. Thanks for the video!
Love the Jeep Gladiator from back in the early 60's. Nice resto!
Beautiful job. Great color! And all without sandblasting. But truthfully I really miss that in the video. 👍👍
It will be back in action next video! 👍🏻
Looks great man! Excellent idea with the rust removal technique and using the clear plastic to hold the plastic parts down while retrobriteing.
Thanks! 👍
Great job! Now I must get me one of those ultrasonic cleaners and try that out! Never would've thought of that!
You should! amzn.to/3wacgBw
I was thinking about this, would this ultrasonic cleaner work for nickel plating too?
@@TRGRESTORATIONS.. your recommended model is (of course) sold out.
Do you have another one you can recommend?
I like that paint job & how it's got that crackle look,at first I thought that the paint screwed up but I like it

Great job, turned out awesome!
lol pretty much!
The Evaporust worked out great. I have used this one many of my MGB parts. The color turned out great. This is a keeper.
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice video, can I have more information about Whiting the wheels, cheers
Wow, that blue pops! Nice job. God bless, Rob
Awesome restoration. I absolutely love that Blue color !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much!
For ultrasonic cleaning, are you using Evapo-Rust at full strength or diluted? What is the optimum temperature? Thanks.
That paint job is 👌🏻!! So pretty!

finally, I was hoping to see someone try this. I've wondered how well it would work.
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Man those out toys look so good after. Need one
That's some satisfaction... Some little things are priceless! Keep on.
I don't know how I ended up here.. but I was unable to look away after it started :^P
The painting result was absolutely gorgeous.
Gorgeous!!! looks better than new. Well done. 😊👍🏼👍🏼🏆Good idea with the paint texture. Covers up any metal blemishes.
Thanks 👍
Cute results. But the sandblast is my favorite part. For me it’s so relaxing; every time I wish it lasts more time. Just saying my personal opinion. Thank you.
Excellent restoration and awesome colors
Thank you very much!
Another loving restoration. I would've been very happy with that pickup as a kid ;D
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I thought when you pulled it out the first time, there was going to be nothing left but the wheels and windshield! lol It looked like it was complete rust. What a gorgeous paint job! Love that color!
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Love the resto mod! The fractured blue paint is sick looking and I love evaporust I found it at tractor supply years ago and it's great stuff
Awesome job!!! Love how it looks. The paint is fantastic.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great process! Outstanding finish work. Those Gladiators are iconic.
Great job as always but that was only light uniform surface rust. Would be very helpful interesting to see the results on some tougher corrosion
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
WOW! Great restoration job. Super job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the colour. 👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Beautiful paint job!
Thank you very much!
That colour is a 10/10 for me. It was interesting to see a resto with no cabinet.
It was a little break from the norm, hopefully might be helpful for someone who can't afford an entire sandblast set-up
@@TRGRESTORATIONS that’s very admirable, mate! It speaks to people just like me who would love a cabinet but can’t scratch up the coins to do it.
That's about the best work I've ever seen can you tell me does that evapo-rust work on full-size cars
It's a great rust remover! This product is designed to soak, but they do sell a gel that would work on larger objects.
Damn! Another fine video! Is there anything he cannot restore? Bravo!
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
😲☹️sandblasting is my favorite part of restorations🙁☹️😢👍👍👍👍

This was just a one-off to try something new. The sand blast cabinet will definitely be back in the next video!
A nice looking blue Jeep truck now I think I have a white one up in the attic.
Evaporust is an awesome product, what a great idea in the ultrasonic cleaner. Hand Tool Rescue should take notes! #handtoolrescue
lol that 55-gallon drum he has works pretty well
@@TRGRESTORATIONS I always thought that Eric should have some sort of circulating pump or mixer in that tank to agitate if a bit. #handtoolrescue
Amazing restoration, love the color!👏👏👏👍👍
Thank you very much!
Between the improved Evaporust and that AMAZING paint job, I'm sure I wasn't the only one ranting at her screen! 🤯
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Awesome job! Curious about the tool you used for the fastener to hold the bed to the chassis? Was this a riveter?
Very nice job. Love the fracture and the color. Beautiful. Hope your doing well. Take care.
Thank you! You too!
Though today there was no YAAAAAY but still loved the video from start to finish ❤️❤️
lol it will be in the next video for sure!
nice job could the front bumper be straightened?

that cracked paint effect is cool

Great restore, I miss the sand blasting.
Are you using an ultraviolet light to whiten the white parts? What's the water solution the parts are in?
yes, and it is 12% hydrogen peroxide
I'm fairly sure that ultrasonic baths instructions say not to place anything on the floor of the bath. Suspend or place in a basket.
Which is lower cost to run, blaster or bath with evaporust?
I'd say the blaster is more expensive, My cabinet set up cost around $3000

wow man!!! That's a beautiful job!!!
How long do you heat parts in oven, after you sprayed primer on them? How do you know how long to do it?
each color can be slightly different, usually 15-20 minutes. but it will be listed on the product when you buy it
@@TRGRESTORATIONS Thank you.

lol definitely haven't won a lottery. Gotta keep adding new elements to my videos though, plus I love getting new toys!
Very good!!!! Great process.
Thank you! Cheers!
That's the clearest evaporust I've seen yet. All the ones I buy have a dark yellowish color
How do you decide which method to use, sand blasting or chemicals?
I prefer sandblasting always, this was just a peak at an alternative for people who can't invest in a full blast cabinet set-up
Great job! Love the color.
Thank you! Cheers!
Any tips or links to videos for your painting box setup? That looked efficient! @TRGRESTORATIONS
but how much per restoration is the evaporust compared to the sand blaster
This set-up was $100, My sand blast set-up cost around $3000
Amazing process, unbelievable paint...man, great job! 😎👍
Thank you so much 😀
Great Work !! That’s Awesome !!! 👍😁
Thanks 👍
What does the UV light do?
Nice work. I don't see a lightning bolt, flame, or Decepticon logo. I will have to deduct one point. 9/10
