I'm on week 4 currently and I kinda adjusted the morning pages to suit my lifestyle. I set a timer for 15 to 30 minutes depending on time available and write as much possible on A4 size note book. Sometimes it's one page or a page an half. On days when I have the luxury of time I can go upto 3 pages or more if need be. And also I don't write them upon rising. I write at mid morning or lunch or night before going to sleep. What matters most is that the pages help you reflect and redirect.

Yes, I 100% agree! I'm glad you've found a flow that works for you each day. I have altered Morning Pages to fit my lifestyle as well. I've found I received the same benefits as the original 3 pages. I'm planning on sharing my different journals in a video, including how I've been doing Morning Pages :)

With the artist dates, I tailored them to suit my accessibility needs :) For example: one artist date involved me exploring my spirituality by getting a tarot reading, another artist date was me coloring in an adult coloring book. For the morning pages I do one page, and if anything comes up through out my day that I need to vent about/write down I go ahead and do that. Your journey is unique to you. For the first time today I used my laptop to write my morning page, because.. I needed a break from writing by hand. I could have seen the obstacle and just skipped today, but I didn't. These little moments would have been moments where I would self sabotage myself, and I want to stop doing that. Thank you for sharing your experience! The other thing I noticed was that I could visualize myself in a beautiful garden with my guardian angels, and what's nice is that I have no disability when I just go there! In that meditative space we sit and talk about things. Before the artist way, I couldn't visualize this so there you go!

Thank you for sharing your experience as well! :) I love the idea of getting a tarot reading. I've gotten a few done and it's so fun! Also, I have altered Morning Pages this year and have been doing one page, too. It's a lot better, imo. If I want to write more sometime during the day, I extend it to my other journals (physical, audio, or video form.)

Fantastic vlog. Thank you. Remember, a first reading of The Artist Way is not “ the end” because of all the activities in each chapter. Those activities will take me a long time to complete and so I’ll enjoy them even after I finish reading. Plus, there’s so much packed in each section, I think the material will come alive in new ways on subsequent readings. Blessings to you!

Thank you! I agree with you that the first reading is not the end. I've flipped through the book a few times to refresh my memory. Months after, I've answered prompts I haven't answered during those 12-weeks. There are certain books I like to revisit every year or so because they're packed with so many hidden gems, and The Artist's Way is one of them 😊

This video really resonated with me. Seeing others going through similar situations gives me strength, knowing I'm not alone. Anxiety has been a struggle for me, especially after the pandemic, making it harder to venture out. I hope to work on this and bring about some positive change. I've always been the kind of person who doesn't want to burden others, so I tend to handle things solo. Listening to your insights has been healing, to say the least. Thank you for sharing.

I'm so glad this video resonates. Take it one day at a time! I first started going out to the places I used to frequent before the pandemic because it gave me a sense of comfort and safety. Then I slowly started going to new places.
I totally get it, I still have a hard time asking for help when it comes to certain things and I get all in my head about it. One thing I have to constantly tell myself is that the people I surround myself with (most especially my family) love me and are willing to help in any way they can.
Thank you for sharing your experience 💜Have a great week!

Thank you so much for this. I related to so much of what you said. I am definitely stealing your idea of going to my childhood public library for my artist's date! I need to rediscover what it means to let my mind play. I miss that being in the moment that my childhood years held. ❤

Oh yes! If you haven't gone to your childhood public library yet, I hope you can make time for it. It felt like I was a kid again walking through the aisles and flipping through all of the art books. Thank you for watching! 😊❤️

I did the artist's way last year. Three weeks ago I started again with the artist dates (I don't know why I stopped). I am an introvert too. I was given a colouring book by number and I love to do it on my artist date. I don't think you always have to go out of the house. At the moment I am reading brain over binge, next I want to reread the artist's way. I still write my morning pages. I have a big notebook and write one page. I feel that is enough for me, for most of the time. If I need more then I write more, but I don't push myself to do the 3 pages. Thank you for sharing your journey! ❤

    • @CharVillena

At first, it sounded like artist dates are only outdoor activities which is what made me more hesitant, but when I saw that people were doing the course during lock down, I realized that wasn't the case. So, I did end up doing a good balance of indoor and outdoor artist dates :) I like that you're not strict with your morning pages. I actually did that a couple of years ago with my Hobonichi. It's already fixed with dated pages so that worked well for me. I might do that again next time. Thank you for sharing your experience! ✨❤

I have a second channel @SimplyNewtral where I post guided meditations, mindfulness, positive affirmations, and all things spiritual. I'm trying my best to be more present on there, but this is my main channel. Thank you for being here!

My morning pages journey is very similar to yours. Large composition pages that were too cumbersome to complete, and then I downsized and it works great. Interestingly, I too started having vivid, rememberable dreams.

I've actually altered how I do Morning Pages now, and I'm planning on sharing it in a video some time. But isn't that interesting? I still get vivid dreams!

Artist dates? I'm still stuck in not creating, can't see that being a thing. I'm also total recluse, including social media (just youtube or fb for family stuff)
Edit: well that was negative 😂 sorry. I like your video, I've lost myself and this is part of me reconnecting, thankyou for your wisdom 🙏
Double edit: I just ordered the artist's way.

I’m going to start this journey soon. The 3 pages - does it mean 3 papers (both sides) or 1.5 papers (3 sides)? I’ve always been confused about that ever since I heard of the morning pages.

    • @CharVillena
      @CharVillena  11 місяців тому +1

When I do Morning Pages, I fill up each page of the notebook (front and back). So three pages = (1 full page front and back and then half of another page). Hope that helps!
