Finally some real Music. All this Computer Radio music is so Boring. Blues, Funk, Soul, Jazz, Rock snd Roll, Folk.. this is what we need more in the Radio. More Eric Clapton.. Blues is the Music that makes popmusic. Never forget that! Big Artists!
This is actually a wonderful cover, probably the best. Most covers I see try to go too aggressive, sing at full power and over blow the chorus or stick too many vocal runs in it. On this Rita remains in control and sticks to the soft sentimental tones of Clapton for the first half and slowly opens up to that big note right in the middle and she starts making the song her own. She really got to the soul of this song, even bits of Wynonna's version, and made it her own. My respect for her has grown.
To see a modern artist like her pay tribute to eric just proves how legendary he is and how beautiful this melody is. Ill be watching this cover for a while.
