Hot f'n damn, this is just incredible. And the singer. From the voice to the facial expressions to the wonderful hand/arm movements. There is so much to learn from him about letting go. I'm in awe.
The first song is called dark eyes and it is a Ukrainian poem later adapted into a jazz song your can find the original lyrics by searching dark eyes (song) on wikipedia. The second song is the ever popular St. Louis Blues.
Nonsense. I have kept a kazoo in my trumpet case and played it often on gigs for 40 years so I know what I'm talking about. One usually sings falsetto through a kazoo, which is indeed what this guy does. This is a kazoo - pure and simple.
@djoutrage18 - i may have a spare 78 of Hotcha Cornia (dark eyes) it's on parlaphone - good cut, killer tune! If i remember correctly st.louis blues is on the other side. The kazoo is being played into a pint size glass. It takes lots of skill to get the mute action , anyone interested in getting a ound like that should get a kazoobi - it's a kazoo with a horn!
Someone said the Guitar player was Teddy Bunn... It's NOT! I can't remember the fellows name but he was later in the Lynn Proctor Trio and was a popular studio musician who played on a lot of hits in the 40s and 50s.

Hi! The 1st tune...in the "More Info" section next to the clip, you're calling it "Black Eyes". I thought it was called "Dark Eyes". Actually it's originally a Russian tune, with a Russian name, but I can't remember the Russian name... I think I heard him sing it...It's something like "Tchechechnia", or something. Forgive my vagueness
That sounds like what Shirley Temple says in her song "Oh, My Goodness" from the movie Poor Little Rich Girl. The doll sequence in that song is a veritable cornucopia of political incorrectness by today's standards. I feel certain Shirley meant no harm.
Yes the Kazoo is the instrument of the future!Wonderful JAZZ!

One of the best bands ever!!!
He is playing it so, so high. A kazoo usually makes your voice sound even lower. AWESOME sound!!
