Haha! The Daughter/Director is back next week (after sitting in the sun all this week and returning a hideously chocolate colour, from the look of the photos she's sending home to irritate her family!) so normal ink testing will resume!
I might have to get me some of those, they look really nice indeed.

Thanks, Peter - and I hope to have your ink mentioned next week! Really grateful for it - and it has fabulous sheen! The Copic pens are really wonderful. Very good feel and I love the reusability of them.
I like reusable things, that's a big bonus indeed.

I'm so glad! I"m still using mine! I really like these pens.
These pens are as good as Michael suggests, however the poster who said they run out quickly is correct, especially if you are a tad heavy handed. I get quite a long time before a refill is needed, but maybe a woman presses lighter. I really like the look of that dipping pen for work at home.
I would say that one thing to bear in mind is that the finer the nib, the longer the ink will last. I have used my two for quite a while now, but both are still going strong. However, it's the fact that I can recycle packaging, ink refills etc that appeals to me most of all. Yes, they are a little more expensive than other models of fine-liner, but all of them tend to go to landfill, I think - which I detest!
That's true too. I have small handwriting so use a fine pen, so they do last longer. I like the wet, dark line one gets with these pens.
That's a Tachikawa T-25. The T-40 with a G nib is the best you can get in my opinion. Rotring drawing ink but if you want something cheaper go Speedball super black india. The multiliner sp tends to run dry for me, obviously pigma micron is king but I prefer faber castell and uni pin. Faber for ink and pin for exceptional nib. Also some Japanese pens are up to 89% made from recycled material including the ink!
Good point on the recycling front. I haven't heard of Speedball, I confess, but I'll have a look. I use a fair bit of Jackson's Art Indian/Drawing ink, which always seems to work well for me!
For the folks in the States looking on Amazon, be careful to get the right model, searching on "copic" gets all kinds of results, some not even Copic brand. You can tell the ones in the video by the large "SP" on the barrel. The sets don't seem to be SP but some other model, I'm guessing cheaper design. If anyone has tried the cheaper ones and compared to the Copic SP please share your impressions. The price difference is quite large.

Hello all! Has anyone tried to refill the cartridge with ink rather than buy a new one? Did it work? What type of ink did you use? I’m thinking of buying the Copic Multiliner SP and then when the cartridge dries out, refill it with pigmented technical pen ink.
Sorry to take a while to respond - deadline on the latest book. I haven't tried to do that, and it might be an interesting experiment, but I have to admit I'm moving more towards a fine-nibbed Kaweco, and a good dark ink for my sketching. I'm always a bit nervous about refilling something like this because you can't tell what sort of chemical reaction you might get between different inks, but worth trying since the replacement cost of the nib and cartridge unit is really not a lot. Hello. What kind of pen nib do you use? I note that is G-pen, but Is it any special brand?
With the Copic my favourite nib is the .003 or the .02. Both work well for me, depending on the type of sketching I'm doing. I prefer the finest, because you can get better shading with that.
The Copic Multiliner SP is absolute garbage. Everyone I have had, which is 4, the 0.1, 0.5, 0.7 are dried out. No matter how many pins I've changed and ink cartages it's like a drink pen, basically. Only the BS one, which is basically just a brush, you can get anywhere else, is still okay. And they're expensive, I've sunk like 50 dollars at this point for materials for these markers and just gave up.
Hmm ... I haven't found them that bad, but I have to admit they don't last anything like as long as competitor pens - all of which are disposable, which I hate. On the other hand, I've now bought a fude pen from Pilot, which does the job much better, although without the really fine nib, of course.
