Here's the references I found. Feel free to add on if I missed any. 0:01 Eagle Squadron is the squadron Seiran and Ringo are assigned to in the invasion. 0:03 One of Mamizou's attacks in the fighting games is to turn her opponents into animals. Reimu's animal form is a white fox. 0:13 The "Bird of Black" is Marisa. The "Crashing through" is definitely a nod to her reckless nature. Also crows are commonly seen as witch familiars, if I remember correctly. Marisa is also turned into a crow by Mamizou. 0:15 The "Fickle Frog" is Sanae and how she uses frogs in battle. 0:24 It's describing the phases of the moon. 0:27 The moon is thought to induce insanity, and actually does in Imperishable Night. Of course, this has no affect on our already insane kleptomaniac witch. 0:35 The Lunar Empire, despite it's hate of impurity, could be considered impure itself because of it's harsh methods. They aren't even truly immortal last I checked, they can only imitate it. No wonder Kaguya didn't want to go back. 0:41 The Moon Rabbits can speak to each other using telepathy. 0:57 Could be both referencing the Dream World/Tunnel, and them wondering if they'll ever be able to understand Earth. 1:01 I feel like this is a reference to the Extend mechanic. 1:05 I'd say many people would say the same about that about 2 certain Stage 5 and 6 bosses. 1:11 And that's obviously Reisen. 1:24 The scarlet eyes of the Moon Rabbits and how they induce insanity. 2:13 The girls are starting to get fed up and are realizing how bad their superiors are. 2:50 You are right Ringo. After all, the spellcard battles are considered a game.
eagle ravi is the squadron name, the phrase "the ravi force will get it done" at 0:19 is technically the same information as you listed in 0:01, but i figured i would point that out. there is a folktale about rabbits on the moon pounding mochi, which is why there are so many mochi and food references, but is also why they are rabbits. figure this is pretty obvious, but i still wanted to post it. you said at 0:57 that they were trying to understand earth. i think they don't understand the lunar command, as there are multiple times when these characters are shown to be kept in the dark in the game. mostly from Ringo and Sagume. i don't know if ringo knew that the lunar capital was moved to the dream world, or anything else about what was happening on the moon at the time. 1:27 ringo mentions in the games that they are not permitted to miss or get hit. essentially, the lunarians (yorihime especially, no doubt) expect nothing short of perfection from their underlings. 2:00 they are referencing the time when yukari and her like invaded the moon. yokia are more powerful depending on the phases of the moon (see the entire plot of IN for more details) but the lunarians are even stronger while on the moon, if i am not mistaken. if i am wrong about any of this, please inform me. i only got into touhou around a year ago.
1:44 - 1:55 Because of rotation and distance shenanigans, the moon allways shows the same "Face" to the earth... so in a sense, to someone from the moon the concept of "Lunar Fases" and that the moon "changes" is an stupid idea, as the moon is, in a sense, perfecly still.... compared to the Earth's rotation at least
_YOU'RE_ A PUMPKIN! Seriously, though, Lori, you _are_ a pumpkin. And from today onward, Asa will be able to call you her pumpkin (or "apple" if she's feeling punny) and it'll be completely justified. xD
The use of the little Lightning Bolts for their Telepathic Radio Communication is really cute, until you realize they don't use that for the very last line and it becomes EVEN CUTER
I hope we get more of eagle Ravi in the future. Their interactions with Reisen would be neat to see, to say nothing of more insight into earth rabbits.
This is the definition of perfection. This could not be done better. This is an example where the lyrics will literally make the song better-remembered more loved.
Thank you for such kind and flattering comments! It makes me really happy! That's definitely a big part of what I hope for, to foster appreciation for the original songs. ^^
Well done Lyrica and Lori. It certainly is difficult to know what freedom feels like until you've actually experienced it. Perhaps such an idea is inspiring in a way, however, as I like the more positive note that this cover ended on. The line about "appreciating the taste" was quite relatable. Also, you did an excellent job pounding out those mochi metaphors.
At first I thought that the flying fox referenced Junko, whose name literally had a fox kanji, but come to think of it, I think it's Reimu- the flying shrine maiden, who can be turned into a fox by mamizou I like all the clever nods and references in your songs
Considering one of the endings of the game and that they are back in The Grimoire of Usami, I feel like they left the moon capital too... I wonder if the "flying fox" is Reimu? Junko seems to be related to foxes... but the rest of the song shows that they are talking about Reimu, Marisa, Sanae and then Reisen... (Reimu transforms into a fox and Marisa into a Raven with Mamizou's spellcard) Fun fact: September Pumpkin and Crazy Backup Dancers have the same rythm
Both voices are so much nice to hear it's very relaxing. And I really love the lyrics you always come up with great lyrics but here they're perfect for the theme and the character.

I like how it ends with them contemplating not going back. Their entire little arc from Lunar invaders to Gensokyo residents was told in a single track.
after listening to this song so many times, I am starting to see things that I didn't see the first time.... First off, partly because of the duet, you can kinda feel a bit of romance between the two characters, which I Approve of, but it's mostly at the end. Secondly, as mentioned in the lyrics "This pounding in my head, I think the rhythm’s been misplaced" the song itself actually showcases this a bit with the 'rabbits' going at their own 'pace' of things... Finally there are actually alot more references in this song than one would expect, "Understand the dream" reference to another song and to the actual plot, "mighty selfish culture" part can be a reference to their life as a lunarian and to the social rules that are self-imposed onto us, there are more references, but it's neat to see this song so jammed with references that it's hard to notice without looking through it multiple times. And frankly this wasn't the last point it was something else, but forgotten.... so yeah.... bonus, my thoughts, I was whole heartedly expecting "MG MG" at the credits screen and was low-key disappointed when I didn't, but hey that's just me being spoilt lmao

Okay, I just want to say, thank you SO MUCH for covering my favorite Stage 2 boss' theme! You really captured Seiran and Ringo, the relationship they have, and the entire premise of both the Lunar Capital and Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom. I'm pretty much looking forward to what you have in plan for any other themes that might come from this game. You did most of the Mountain of Faith OST boss themes, after all; Suwa Foughten Field and Native Faith excluded.
Ringo: Has rabbit ears in every picture. Me with a dearth Vader voice after readding your comment: You will die in the same bane as your weakling father!
I like September Pumpkin so much , really happy to see you made a lyric version of it. I like the themes of LOLK but September Pumpkin beats them all for me. Traitor part was Reisen right, that was very nice but in game it looked like they don't know and care about Reisen leaving the moon
Hmm... Well, it's a good take on an underrated theme, but every here and there it feels like some lines weren't perfectly edited together (e.g., "the pieces are restored again" feels like it pushes into the first syllable of "An empire that gives and takes") and sometimes it even feels like you tried to squeeze in one too many syllables into a the occasional line (e.g., "I'm not sure I ever quite was able to appreciate the taste" has the word "appreciate" feeling a tad bit squeezed in there imo... "enjoy" could've been a better choice of word I think). Edit post-scriptum addendum: Also, this cover reminds me of this: safebooru.donmai.us/posts/2319331 (just disable the spoiler thingy to see) *P-please... use some MERCY, human... *Rabbit.
In my defense, the next line after "appreciate" is explicitly *"I think the rhythm's been misplaced."* The whole verse maintains the same number of overall syllables as the previous ones (i.e. it's not actually squeezing in extra syllables _between_ the beats of the melody), but I intentionally offset the syllable-per-line count toward the end there (designated the "end of a line" to be in a different place / let her thought continue into what would more naturally be "the next line") in a mildly jarring way to demonstrate the feeling of no longer being obligated to follow familiar routine. A strict mochi-pounding rhythm was programmed in her, but she's beginning to deviate from it. Secondly, yeah, when songs are this fast and easy to run out of breath on, we record every-other-line at a time in a single take. So when we put the multiple recordings together, sometimes any drawn-out notes end up subtly overlapping. Sometimes I think letting them subtly overlap gives a neat flowy vibe, but it's fair to think it didn't work here or that it'd be good to try to sing faster or edit better to avoid it. Particularly in this case since, aside from the aforementioned ending, they _were_ supposed to be coming across as more rigid rhythm-keeping Lunarians. I appreciate thinking closely enough about it to offer constructive criticism. Also, LOL, poor Seiran... Eagles Three through Nine were offline.
@@lyrica-live Not gonna lie, that is actually a fair defence when you put it that way. So while I thought closely enough about it to offer criticism, I guess I also got so focused on the... I guess we could call it "lyrical arrhythmia"? -that I didn't think all that much about the words in the next line and the arrhythmia's deeper significance. Oh well, it's the fact that you put this level of deep thought into your lyrics that keeps calling me back here~ ^^ I stand by what I said about the editing though: The overlaps work just fine in most of your songs, and sometimes even adds to them, ("Merry the Magician" being the most obvious example, what with you blurring the boundaries between the lines in that song,) but this time, well, I guess it just didn't... :/ And, yeah, considering that you were going with rigid rhythm and breaking said rhythm as themes in this song, it's a pity that it didn't... oh well... I really like the 4th and 5th panels. How she goes from irritated disbelief at her fellow rabbits being so carefree during their invasion that they don't even respond to her calls and then transitioning into that moment of dawning comprehension that she's being thrown to the wolves. I also like that the artist managed to convey that moment in such a minimalistic way, just by removing the highlights in her eyes and adding a few sweat-drops. Kinda like, "What are you girls doing, taking a break?! Don't you realize that _this is war_ and you're... leaving me... alone... t- to deal with, with... *ʜᴇʀ...* ʰᵉˡᵖ"
my first listen made me think the "barely missed' was referring to Reisen getting away, but i realized the double meaning that since they followed in her footsteps they might have just, missed her up on the moon
Counting thumbnails that you are yet to pixilize: 1 - reverse ideology 2 - yokai girl at the gate 3 - great fairy wars 4 - primordial beat 5 - candid fren 6 - hartmann's yokai girl 7 - impeccable heights 8 - the concealed four seasons 9 - egotistic flowers 10 - crazy backup dancers(wait, didn't it already have the new thumbnail?) 11 - pierrot of the star-sprangled flag 11.5 - magical astronomy 12 - our hisoutensoku 13 - september pumpkin
These lyrics are fantastic. I know this was two years ago almost; have you changed your sound set up any? I don't have enough knowledge to tell what is off, but something about the recording doesn't quite feel like professional recordings. And it's a bummer because it takes away from the clever lyrics. Regardless, very nice.
Thank you! Great timing to ask. A WIP of a WBaWC song was recently voted on by Patreon, and should be released by next month~ I'll keep it a secret which one.

And start another phase of something better after all
Francias Paroles:
Aigle 1 a aigle 2
Aigle 1 a aigle 2
le oiseau de noir plant a travers
La grenouille inconstante a egalement inonde, aussi vite que la lumiere pour me trouver
Aigle 2 a aigle 1
la force ravie le fera
et les pilonner comme des mochi sous la forme lunaire parfaite
imma editer ca demain je suis trop fatigue pour faire toutes les traductions francaises ce soir ;-;
Au revoir! j'espere ne pas oublier 👋
Keep up the good work Lyrica! I absoloutly love your lyrics!! ♥️♥️
I mean, not to criticise you, but the lyrics are in English in the description
I did not realize, thanks for pointing it out!
ONE OF MY FAVORITE TOUHOU SONGS THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS IM SO HAPPY!!!!
I DIDN’T THINK YOU WOULD WRITE LYRICS TO THIS YAAAAAAAAY!!!!
Lovely! I always found this song increatibly catchy
So to recap, new brawlers, start of Inktober-related stuff, and now this.
Guess 2020 isn't that bad.
I didn't know Ringo was a rabbit until now
Ringo: Has rabbit ears in every picture.
This is how "Ace Combat: The Gensokyo War" should be.
Bruh this is so perfect.
Ngl the lyrics of these covers are getting more and more consistent.
Lyrica, you never fail to make my day whenever you post
Edit post-scriptum addendum: Also, this cover reminds me of this:
safebooru.donmai.us/posts/2319331 (just disable the spoiler thingy to see)
*P-please... use some MERCY, human...
Oh well, it's the fact that you put this level of deep thought into your lyrics that keeps calling me back here~ ^^
I stand by what I said about the editing though: The overlaps work just fine in most of your songs, and sometimes even adds to them, ("Merry the Magician" being the most obvious example, what with you blurring the boundaries between the lines in that song,) but this time, well, I guess it just didn't...
I love how well the tone and words flow with song
Yay finally!!! Ive been waiting for this!!!!
Every time I see a new song I pop off :3
Dang these are catchy :0
Another LOLK track... Man, I can't wait to see your take on the rest of the game's tracks!
I have never heard this theme without the vocal but it sounds so nice with the vocal to it
RANGO IS PROBLABLY THE ONLY CHARECTER THAT DOSENT WAR A SKIRTL
Pc-98 characters, Wriggle, and Mokou has pants
Also... RANGO
meanwhile in th15 game:
Reimu:Where is 1st&2nd boss go?
Yes! My favorite 2hu song!
Seiran has a cute voice.
The duo is interesting, but I’m wondering if seiran’s theme will be just herself, these two again, or her singing with one of protagonists mid fight
listening to this while looking at live map
Woke up early just to realize Lyrica uploaded a new video. (In our place it is 5 am)
Nice to see the pixel art from here getting used as thumbnails, it's really cute
It's October now... but your lyrics are as fitting and fun as usual! Me very likey :D
These lyrics are ridiculously good
I did not expect this song great job!
love this
a perfect way to start off spooky month! \o/
YESSYESYESYESYES
I love this
my first listen made me think the "barely missed' was referring to Reisen getting away, but i realized the double meaning that since they followed in her footsteps they might have just, missed her up on the moon
One of your best ones
Awesome
Happy Harvest Moon! Now’s our chance to pester the Lunarians instead...!
This is amazing
you've returned
I love the code names of the song it's so cool.
Very epic
I am and will not be able to speak for another day or two, out of sheer amazement.

I know this was two years ago almost; have you changed your sound set up any? I don't have enough knowledge to tell what is off, but something about the recording doesn't quite feel like professional recordings. And it's a bummer because it takes away from the clever lyrics.
Regardless, very nice.
My favorite so far 🤩
puhuhuhu ;) spooky month is here
it's september again woo
best song :D
You couldn’t have just uploaded it 1 day earlier lol
Good as always! Do you have any plans on doing the Touhou 17 soundtrack?
Thank you! Great timing to ask. A WIP of a WBaWC song was recently voted on by Patreon, and should be released by next month~ I'll keep it a secret which one.
You should've posted this on the 21st night of September
Yeah, but that would have been less than 2 weeks after the Cirno day Our Hisoutensoku
This is very good!
Another lovely song~
Oh, yeah, Pumpkintoberfest!
Wait, why in October?
The duet sounds beautiful!
Wish it was done more balance in the music though, even if the solo sounds pretty nice too.
I have always wondered do all moon rabbits have the ability to hypnotize humans or only certain ones?🧐😅
I have never been this early, I am literally throbbing and shitting myself
