learn to make expansion chambers... then you unlock the beast within all twostrokes...
iunno, there was some java script site program years ago (java pipe, still up!) that whilst it made pretty lousy pipe dimensions, it did have a neat "silencer calculator"... punch in the pipe diameters and lengths, location of holes, could tune in the silencer to peak resonant frequencies and when fitted... killed a lot of the harshness... "hemlmholtz resonant cavities" or bandpass filters...
but then i moved on to 2stroke wizard... never bothered with a silencer as they all turned out to be pretty quiet without the extra effort.
no affiliation, but from experience worth the $30 odd for it...
these little engines are junk but they do perk up a bit with a good pipe! the next step is change the reed valve block and carb for something that breaths, then a bit of playing with a dremel come dental tool in the ports.
then being so cheap, when you smoke one you shrug and grab another...
