K.I.S.S. Love these lil tricks! They’re easy and effective!
As always Dan, an awesome job!
Thanks for nice video. Tautline hitch would give you better option to control the height over fire.
Thanks for the video, keep em coming please, we have a campfire ban now until probably October.
Thank god I got cell service!😂 I’m in the woods with my boys, Groot and Fenris, “Great Danes “! Already applying your techniques and skills and brother Dan Wowak, I’m absolutely loving it!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills! I’m also, using the cooking iron from coalcracker bushcraft!!, From Washington state!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️👊🏿
“Until our next video…don’t die.”
I'll try not to...thanks for caring!
Dan, it might be a good time to remind people that the cooking for only needs to be 5 or 6 inches larger in diameter than the pot they use. Keeping the fire size smaller makes hanging adjustment easier, wood gathering less onerous, and fire management easier-including putting the fire dead out (i find s lot of unattended hot coal beds in big fire rings every hike I'm out in summer.
For those of us who have a pot with no handle snare wire works good as a makeshift handle.
Well done!
I always like your videos. I hang my pot a little different. I have a 6 foot piece of paracord with loop on the ebd and stop knot on the other. The different part is a prusic tied to it. I hang the paracord by the prusic. The prusic gives you the adjustment you need.
Thank you for the pot stick idea.
Good stuff! I'm still scared about using burnable line to hold my food above an open flame but as long as I don't spazz out it looks like it will be fine. Thanks! ...now for a follow up video on wilderness cooking- 'How soon is too soon to resort to cannibalism?'
Melting the line has always been my worry, too.
Cool! Thanks, Dan!
Love the toggle usage!
Easy Skills 🔥👍🏻😉

I have learned more real survival information that is feasable in a survival situation than any other channel. I'm an elderly lady that doesn't have the time, energy, money, or patience to go through all the nonsense of these channels that feature in their prime, fit young men building cabins of wood or stone that I'd be dead before getting to a useful shelter. Most of them are in a snow storm. Be real...I'm in NC and was raised in NYS till I was 30. Didn't need survival then and we don't get enough snow here to make a baby snowman! I need advice I can really use if the time comes. From listening to other channels, I have an emergency bag that five people could exist fairly comfortably. Right down to dice and cards to occupy our minds and gum, pop corn and candy for snacks....I need practical help. Tell me more old time wisdom...lol.😊❤
HellToTheYeah great camp hack

"Heighthen"😂. Are you sure you're not from philly?
I about spit my beer...😆
what is tattoo'd on your knuckles?
You have to show people how to hang a pot?
Today on Coalcracker...bad puns and kindergarten humor. :( Nice vid except for the opening.
If you are going to chastise generations of sailors pronouncing bow-lin lose your regional patois. Its called PRESCRIPTIVE grammar vs DESCRIPTIVE in linguistics .
Counthisberries was ridiculous enough with MarLINEspike. It’s childish and denigrates your credibility on the supposed purpose if the channel.
Apparently depends on where you're from. I learned the Bow-line (long "I") in the early 70's in Boy Scouts in Kentucky. I'd NEVER heard bow-lin until watching UA-cam some years ago. Same knot, different pronunciations.
