I remember them from when I was a kid, too. I loved the show. When I saw there were A&A videos on UA-cam, I started watching them, fully expecting to be disappointed. That didn't happen. I've seen dozens of these now, and I like the show even more now than I did as a kid.
That show brought back memories of the Fuller Brush door-to-door salesmen. I know that was a tough job. I remember my mom buying brushes from the sales people, not because we really needed those things, but so their trip wouldn't be wasted. Kingfish should just stick to being one of the best comedy character actors around. Andy, Amos, Calhoun, Lightning, Mama, and Sapphire are the others.
George is a genius when it comes to coming up with schemes for getting out of work ! The slingshot as a way of knocking on the door without having to climb the stirs was ingenious .
It is unbelievable that this show was ever called racist. Were people so blind that they did not see a THRIVING BLACK COMMUNITY in the background with successful black business owners?!! This show needs to be back on television RIGHT NOW.
It wasn't called racist, it PROMOTED RACIAL STEREOTYPES and THAT was the problem, but you are more than likely white, so you DON'T WANT TO SEE, but people like you CRAVE seeing craven blacks shuckin' and jivin'.
Exactly. And seeing how life tends to imitate art in the black community, this could have certainly put black culture far ahead of where it eventually sank after gangsta rap came along and just wrecked everything.
The best show ever and ever and ever I hope they don’t try to make another version like they did with the honeymooners or Beverly hill billies it can’t be done just leave it alone
True then True now Working class was poor regardless of race. Kramden apartment had one chair, Kingfish had a sofa, they both were on the bottom. Sapphire worked Alice did not.....ice box,one window and chair.
"Superfine Brush,” Season 2, Episode 20, aired 2 Apr. 1953. Alvin Childress as Amos, Spencer Williams as Andy (as Spencer Williams Jr.), Tim Moore as Kingfish, Ernestine Wade as Sapphire, Johnny Lee as Calhoun, Nick Stewart as Lightnin' (as Nick O'Demus), Arthur McNeely, Man at Sales Meeting, Amos Reese as Mr. Foster.
George kingfish stevens reminds me of arthur daley and del boy always trying make fast buck but not bad in any way .that's what makes the humor. not a reason to cancel
How can you say that? He is just a no good, unscrupulous person, who doesn't care who he gets into trouble, just so long as he can stretch his legs on the couch in his lodge or at his home! I think the Kingfish character was the reason the show was pulled off circulation.

So did the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Company require its door to door salespeople to sing their song at the daily morning meetings. This episode nailed it perfectly.
Hmmm, that makes me wonder if Amadela Jones (Amos's daughter) is still around. Not sure how to spell her name, and I can't find her listed in the cast anywhere. I'm guessing she's in her mid to late 70's. She was the sweetest little girl!
I'm sure it won't be long before some black person finds something here to be offended by and will have UA-cam remove these classic shows. Just because you think it's offensive, doesn't make it so.
They've been off the air for over 60 yrs because they were found to be racist,,,,, its been just the last yr or so that they were found and being shown on U Tube,,, probably 1 of the best shows of all time !!!!! Remember watching when I was a child with half the neighborhood in our living room ,,,,, great times
They should call it KING FISH & Friends . 1950"s OR " JUST KINGFISH " I Believe this show was one of the FIRST TOO HAVE BEGINNINGS Middle & ENDING ,ALL IN ONE SHOW. DIDN'T HAVE YOU COME BACK TOMORROW OR NEXT WEEK!!!** TO GET TO THE END. 🤝
you can thank clowns like Jesse Jackson and Bill Cosby for having one of the best TV shows ever removed from your view. In 2007, when I found youtube, Amos and Andy was one of the first things I looked up.
One of the lost episodes was the race horse to this day it has never been found it was the funniest episode the only source who has them all is cbs & will not release it as a kid back in the days I seen it few times maybe one day cbs will get it together & release it along with the other four lost episodes.
Agree as well, the real actors is what made this show great I couldnt listen to the radio versions of the show, though I believe it was the radio guys who was the writters & producers of the tv show.
I used to watch this show with my mother when I was a little kid n 50s i never forgot it. It was so good
Using that sling shot instead of doin those steps wow what great writing they should give this show the Emmy award posthumously
Excellent show! Thanks for uploading. I used to watch these in the early 50's. Nothing on today is as good.
Gave up on t v shows years ago..so enjoy the old series
I’m 75. I watched the original shows when I was 5. I’m glad UA-cam has them.
I gave up on TV shows beginning in 1992 after The Golden Girls ended.
I can remember watching at 10 years old. Now as a adult I know why I never forgot them. Very creative plots and characters.
I remember them from when I was a kid, too. I loved the show. When I saw there were A&A videos on UA-cam, I started watching them, fully expecting to be disappointed. That didn't happen. I've seen dozens of these now, and I like the show even more now than I did as a kid.
Amos and Andy a great comedy classic. Thank you for uploading great memories.

What I like about this show is the people all get along and they respect America and ibet the law. No hatred and just good clean fun.
It a great show now and back in the day.

The NAACP boycott this black show 😡🤬
George is a genius when it comes to coming up with schemes for getting out of work ! The slingshot as a way of knocking on the door without having to climb the stirs was ingenious .
Tim Moore was a comedic genius. Redd Foxx used to visit the set. He was influenced by Tim Moore.
This is very good comedy. This was funniest than the honeymooners

"He hurt his back lifting his commission up to the teller window at the bank." OMG!
Kingfish is super elaborate regarding scamming Andy.

We would never know otherwise.

So
IBM required employees to sing the corporate songs in the 1930s.
So did the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Company require its door to door salespeople to sing their song at the daily morning meetings. This episode nailed it perfectly.
the gold CDs are great atleast there in order
Holy Mackerel! I done watched every episode! Now I got nothing left to watch! What is I gonna do Sapphire?
The Andy Griffith Show would have been a lot funnier if Andy and Barney had talked like Kingfish and Andy Brown.
yes highly intelligent people
I'm like kingfish , retired 8 years ago dont want to work either
Kingfish does NOT BELIEVE IN WORKING! Andy always his victim.
R.I.P. THE WHOLE CAST HAVE ALL PASSED AWAYS.HOWEVER LIGHTNING MIGHT STILL BE WITH US?
dominic piscopo
He passed away early 2000...Nick Stewart..RIP...
I don't know what all the fuss was about. Best actors and cast.

“Lightning “ has some interviews on UA-cam that look fairly recent.

The Kingfish sucered Andy into another one.
Used to sell dish ware in Detroit. Leads provided by sales manager Williamson for the contest to win Cadillac.
The Kingfish could have made a fortune as a sign maker
What I never could understand was the KINGFISHS WIFE WAS SO MUCH YOUNGER THEN HE WAS?
