  • Doing retail arbitrage and shopping for clearance to resell on eBay and Amazon FBA can add up to make you some great money. Doing retail arbitrage requires a lot of research and patience. Prices and demand on these items can change overnight, so it's good to buy solid items that people are going to want and need.
    Selling on Amazon using FBA can be complicated for new sellers. First try flipping on eBay or Mercari. Many items can sell great locally using Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. Try shopping for Walmart clearance or head on over to Target, Best Buy, or even a Marshall's for huge discounts on products. Not every store has the same clearance deals, so don't expect to always find the same things others are at the same price.
    Remember there are tons of competition and it can be tough to find consistent products unless you are spending a lot of time sourcing every week.

    //WHO AM I?
    I'm Wick and I am a reseller for a living. I find things at garage sales, thrift stores, and even clearance at retail stores to sell. I do online arbitrage, retail arbitrage, and buy locally. While the majority of my business is done through Amazon FBA, I also sell on eBay or anywhere else I can flip the junk that I find.
    I also trade stocks and futures, do affiliate marketing, and Merch by Amazon to make money online. My goal is to live a free life away from the typical 9-5 job.

    //FAQ
    Q: What Apps do you use to sell online (eBay and Amazon)?
    A: I search the eBay sold and completed listings to get an idea of what products are selling for. I use the Amazon Seller App to scan for FBA.
    Q: Can you make a living selling online?
    A: Yes, the difficulty is based on how much effort you put in and how much you need to make each month. I do this full time.
    Q: Where do you find your clearance products to resell?
    A: Literally everywhere. Check end caps and look for clearance aisles, but mostly it will be mixed in. Ask a manager if there's any good clearance deals and build a relationship if possible.
    Q: Do you make a full-time living selling online?
    A: I do. All my bills are covered, I'm able to save a good amount, and put money back into the business. I also do other things to make money, but reselling is the meat. It takes a lot of work and dedication to make a full-time living reselling.

    A couple of weeks ago my wally world had LED floodlights a 4-pack for $8, sold out online at $27 a box. I bought all four boxes, kept two and changed all my lights in the kitchen and hall (wow what a difference) and sold the other two for $36 (what I paid for all four boxes).

    Hey. I noticed you mentioned Brickseek and how a lot of the Lowes deals don't show up on their feed. I use brickseek (extreme) and have noticed less clearance deals at least for lowes (where I focus most). I was thinking it was possibly a summer time thing. Do you think Lowes may not be feeding all of their mark down priced clearance stuff to the brickseek database?
    Are you a subscriber of the brickseek site (paid version)? Do you suggest just going to the store, literally walking up and down every aisle and looking for yellow tags instead of brickseek? lol...
    Thanks for the vids!

    • @FlippingJunk
      @FlippingJunk  Рік тому +1

      I recommend using Brickseek and walking up and down every aisle. I have the paid version of Brickseek, but I'd say 80% of my finds do not show up on Brickseek.

    Who ever is getting the clearence deals at Target is killing it. The tags are marked way down but zero inventory. I cannot do this stuff anymore. Too much effort and disappointment. Yards sales and Thrift stores always have goods.

      Last year I found some Nerf form guns on slae for $1.19 each, I scanned it to make sure and yep so grabbed 10 of them, at check out the cashier was like that can be right and called for a price check, was told yep right price, I told him I was buying early for X-mas for a local charity, flipped them for $7.50 each locally at the flea market.

    • @FlippingJunk
      @FlippingJunk  Рік тому +2

      I've got hundreds of videos where I talk about it. I can't remember if I have a getting started video lol. All it takes to get started is go clearance shopping and check items to eBay sold and completed listings. See what's selling. Find some success...then maybe move on to Amazon if you're comfortable. It's corny, but just do it and practice and it will develop. It's all about experience.

  • @LennyTim
    @LennyTim Рік тому +2

    If a product costs $30 online, and even if you can get it for $10, you're probably making about $5 - 8 on it tops.
    There's shipping costs, seller fees and packing materials to buy.
    The sucky part is that it's not guaranteed to sell, and once you list it, your competitors will start dropping the price and it's a race to the bottom.
    Lastly, you can't just sell most brands or products, you would need approval.
    Other than that, cheers.

    I do not see how Lowes can legally stop you from buying how ever much clearance you want to buy. Unless there are signs stating there is a limit of a certain product , like with soda on sale at a grocery store.

    Honest question,,,what drives you to basically give away your secrets? which ultimately leads to markets getting hosed? the $ UT pays you could hardy make-up for all this, could it? I never understand these tell all videos across all genres. Like the WM in this video...that angle was hosed long ago once the public got word off YT it was milk.

    • @FlippingJunk
      @FlippingJunk  Рік тому +1

      Everyone else gives them away already. It's either join them and make a few extra dollars on YT or let them tank the market and make all the money in YT. I'd happily stop posting content if everyone else would, but that's just the reality behind this kind of stuff. Anytime there's an easy way to make money people will come in and make it too difficult or to the point it's no longer profitable. I'm just going to grind it until it's no longer profitable and then move on to something that is... Also I don't give away all my secrets. The most profitable ones I keep lol

    • @redwolfexr
      @redwolfexr Рік тому +2

      Generally you need invoices to get ungated for a brand. So you open an account with a local plumbing warehouse (or online "for business") and buy items to get ungated. You only have to do that once. You REALLY need to have a Tax number to do this - you won't be treated as a B2B otherwise.
      The only way you have to provide invoices later is if you are accused of selling counterfeits. And for THAT PURPOSE ALONE a retail receipt is proof that its authentic. The really risky part of flipping on AMAZON is if you are getting bulk stuff like buying pallets. Because you have no sort of proof and a lot of actual counterfeit goods are dumped into that stream.
      I had a local toy warehouse so I got ungated for almost all toy brands and sub-brands that are "publicly" sellable. They went out of business so I am no longer in the toy business... I pretty much was their "clearance" department. I sometimes buy things from my local grocery warehouse too - but the margins are slim there.
