Peter Hitchens wrote The Phoney War, an unliked book since it portrays WW2, 'the good war' with its greatest generation as sort of poignant religious celebration of a formerly 'great Empire' reluctant to acknowledge it's status as a has-been Empire(in 1940).
Britain would have been better off accepting Hitler's peace overtures in 1940 and not bankrupting itself further to put on a 'good show old man.'
But Fatboy Churchill wanted a war and did not want to be the PM who presided over Britain's retirement form the 'great Power' world stage.
Yeah way to go, so 60 million die and Stalin gets Poland in the end. what a joke.

      Yes, even more so.
The Forced War by David Hoggan, had a hard time getting published since it contradicts the Poland as victim narrative. F. Roger Devlin reviewed it at the Unz Review if you just want 15 pages on it.
Eddie Wood or Halifax is the manipulator here.Hoggan discusses the European 'Balance of power' as the British motive, I wonder if it was simply the 'Sneer War' on the part of the Brits.
